Stunning views unfortunate that there is no ramp at the front... you have to drag up over the steps.
Great sized rooms and bathrooms that are very spacious and modern.
The food was not great at all and often waiting times for delivery of a drink or a meal are the same timeframes - too long.
Great and friendly staff and would give it a higher ranking if only their food and food service were better.

I stayed 2 days at Basma Hotel and I’ve been extremely well served. The rooms are cleaned and decorated. The client is taken care from beginning to the end. Special thanks for Walid who was perfect. The food would not have the same taste without his smile and kindness.

My friends and I stayed at Basma Hotel for 6 days in December 2023. The room we had boasted an absolutely amazing view, which was a definite highlight. However, our stay was unfortunately marred by a few significant issues.
The air conditioning in our room was completely non-functional throughout our entire stay. Despite repeated complaints to the hotel staff, the problem was never resolved. This made for an extremely uncomfortable experience, especially considering the warm December weather there. Additionally, the refrigerator in our room had a strange odor, so we couldn't use it at all.
On a more positive note, the hotel staff were truly exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible despite the challenges. The food at the hotel was decent, offering a satisfactory variety of options.
Overall, our experience at Basma Hotel was a mixed bag. The stunning views and outstanding staff were definite positives, but the persistent AC issue and smelly fridge significantly detracted from our enjoyment. Despite these issues, we would still recommend this hotel, especially if the management addresses the maintenance problems. The staff's dedication to guest satisfaction and the hotel's other positive aspects make it worth considering, but be aware of the potential inconveniences.

Located on a hilltop, the view from the hotel is spectacular! The pool is nice, and the food is great and very affordable. The hotel lobby and reception/waiting area are decorated with artistic murals and artifacts that keep you engaged with the hotel's theme. It’s uniquely built.

Spent one night at the Basma hotel, located on a hilltop in Aswan. What can I say, I had a fantastic experience!! From the very clean rooms with AC, the view of the pool and the city, and the exquisite restaurant, I really have nothing bad to say about this hotel. It truly is a premiere place to stay if you are ever in Aswan.
Finally the room service is quick and easy, you can charge everything to your room and pay at the end!

I’ve spent my stay in Egypt in just 5 stars hotel, but none was really incredible as Basma Hotel in Aswan. The service was super good, room also good and breakfast could be better. I wasn’t felling well and until 12pm Reham from guest relation manager was helping me to get some medicine. I felt like home to be honest. The view to the city is super beautiful. Recommend 100%.

This hotels service and attention to its patrons is EXCEPTIONAL 10/10
We had an issue with our room when we first arrived and when we informed the front desk they instantly change our rooms and helped us get a better room. We also went to the restaurant and the manager was extremely nice, they offered us a few complimentary items and really made us feel as if we were the most important guests they had! Would absolutely visit this hotel again and highly recommend it to anyone staying in Aswan.

The hotel location is not bad with a nice view on the Nile river. The rooms were a little shabby but not bad. It might not be the best location if you do not have a driver or a car

Value for money, matching expectations.
There are not so many mid-range options you and choose from in Aswan. Basma Hotel is a fair enough option when you are looking for something not needing a boat transfer.
The hotel has been there for a while so rooms are expected to be dated, and to our surprise, our room is nice and clean, air-conditioning functioning alright, spacious as well.
Front desk staff Miriam (sorry if I type your name wrong) is efficient and friendly.
A big plus is the shopping centre they have at the hotel. If you need stamps, they have it! And the shop keeper is helpful. (Even the shop in Sofitel does not sell stamps)
We are still at the hotel and hopefully our positive experience continues. :)

The Basma has the potential to be a great hotel, but is let down by a lack of maintenance, inconsistent cleaning and clumsy service.
There is currently work going on to renovate the reception, but it seems to me that the effort and resources would be better invested elsewhere around the hotel.
