Basma Hotel

Looks nice on the exterior but the rooms are very old. Aircon was very noisy throughout, bed was uncomfortable (uneven), service is average, breakfast is also very average. I wouldn’t recommend it for this price.

Hotel reception is friendly and nice. Location is not super good (it is on the hill). But house keeping is bad. The cleaning person opened our luggage (because he/she figured out our password is 000). Luckily we didn’t put anything valuable in the luggage.

Stunning views unfortunate that there is no ramp at the front... you have to drag up over the steps.

Great sized rooms and bathrooms that are very spacious and modern.

The food was not great at all and often waiting times for delivery of a drink or a meal are the same timeframes - too long.

Great and friendly staff and would give it a higher ranking if only their food and food service were better.

My friends and I stayed at Basma Hotel for 6 days in December 2023. The room we had boasted an absolutely amazing view, which was a definite highlight. However, our stay was unfortunately marred by a few significant issues.

The air conditioning in our room was completely non-functional throughout our entire stay. Despite repeated complaints to the hotel staff, the problem was never resolved. This made for an extremely uncomfortable experience, especially considering the warm December weather there. Additionally, the refrigerator in our room had a strange odor, so we couldn't use it at all.

On a more positive note, the hotel staff were truly exceptional. They were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible despite the challenges. The food at the hotel was decent, offering a satisfactory variety of options.

Overall, our experience at Basma Hotel was a mixed bag. The stunning views and outstanding staff were definite positives, but the persistent AC issue and smelly fridge significantly detracted from our enjoyment. Despite these issues, we would still recommend this hotel, especially if the management addresses the maintenance problems. The staff's dedication to guest satisfaction and the hotel's other positive aspects make it worth considering, but be aware of the potential inconveniences.
