Asked receptionist and was told the hotel had turned off the air conditioning for guests due to "cooler weather" on the way and energy savings.
Was instead offered a small fan and an open window for comfort. Seriously, see attached photo. Obviously this was worthless so sleeping was miserable unless you like to sleep in hot stuffy conditions.
However the lobby entrance was air conditioned and comfortable. Hmmm….
Front desk are helpful, all in all it was a nice experience.
As far as the hotel it didn't meet the NH standards at all. First there wasn't a bellman to assist with the luggage so we had to unload and bring the luggage up ourselves. We requested a king bed and they didn't accommodate us at first. Once request they looked for a better suited room. Then we got a king bed with mold on the bathroom ceiling. We again called for another room. They quickly gave us a better room..... We were upgraded to a premium room with view to the Gran Via slippers and robe. The hotels thermostat is set for the entire hotel. Therefore we couldn't adjust the temperature in the room. If we got hot, we could open the window. Here's where the view isn't good. You open the window and hear all the street noise. The walls are very thin and you hear all the neighbors noise.... Lots of banging in the morning.
I will definitely look for another chain in the future. ☹️
