The main issue with the hotel is the expectation set by the five star rating and the prices charged. We enjoyed our stay, the location is good, views are amazing and the building itself clearly grand. But it was not worth what we paid, and we left feeling a bit ripped off. For a couple of hundred euros a night less (we paid €468 per room per night mid-week in August), and if it were described as a three star hotel, I might have given it a 4 out of 5.
The hotel is clearly historic, but it’s also very very tired. It’s in desperate need of refurbishment. Bedroom furniture is old (but, to be clear, not antique or worth saving) and some of it in our room was falling apart (seams ripped on chairs, for example). Carpets ditto. Bedrooms are missing things like USB sockets that you would expect to see at this price point and star rating. Towels were thin and clearly years old, bed linen didn’t feel premium, the toiletries were just in plastic bottles on the wall and they were using hand wash as shower gel. The gym equipment was broken.
The other issue is the level of service. There was nothing wrong with what there was: the staff were friendly, polite and attentive. However, for the price and rating, you would, for example, expect someone to carry your bags from your car to your room, and an evening turn-down service. The former I’d expect is particularly an issue given quite few steep steps just to get the entrance, and the hotel’s slightly older clientele when we stayed so worth considering if you have mobility issues. We saw a few guests struggling when we were there.
Overall, too expensive for what it is. We wouldn’t return or recommend it.

I audibly squealed when I got to my room! This hotel will make you ooh and ahh on it's own, but the views it offers, too, just wow!! The service was fantastic, rooms were clean and comfortable, and the terrace has a cafe that serves small meals if you don't want a full dinner. Breakfast is on floor -1 with a beautiful set up and outdoor seating. The beach is less than 10 minutes walk from the hotel, but if you're not up for the hill, they have a gorgeous room for sitting and enjoying the moment! Prices are excellent!! Highly recommend!

Bloody poor experience with this Santander branch of Eurostars......
No more staying with this chain hotel.....
Booked wrong month n did not double check until b4 flying n realised the wrong month.... Email to ask if its possible to do anything to change the date, also showing them that I booked many Eurostars Hotel branches during my travel....it tooked this Santnder branch to reply on the 3rd day after the inquiry....
Is this hotel still 4 or 5 stars as claimed by their website????

I do not want to repeat what others wrote before me, but this hotel certainly did not feel like a 5-star property.
Check-in - long line with one (excellent, hard-working) staffer trying to address many people.
Elevator - a single elevator for a 5-story building with 120+ rooms? Really?
Room - OLD, with furniture from 70s or 80s.
Bathroom - neither functional nor ergonomic, with lots of marble. Towels and bathrobes - terrible.....
Breakfast - OK...ish.
On the plus side- it's a great-looking building with beautiful views + free parking.
The main issues at this hotel are its top management and ownership. They just do not care, and it shows. Staff are trying to do the best they can - thank you for that!

This is definitely not a five star hotel. Needs updating. Very quite.no toiletries only pumps on the bathroom wall. Mainly people over 70 years old in the hotel, no bar only a small lounge, the terrace was the best part of the hotel, that was because the weather was good, the air condition didn’t work,very overpriced. We booked a different hotel the next night.x

This Hotel is much more.. it's an experience. . The views are spectacular, the rooms are wonderfully comfortable and spacious, the terrace is chilled and just the most beautiful space to eat,drink and relax... overall the decor is beautifully elegant. However, above all the staff are fantastic. a must visit, we have always throughly enjoyed our visits here...highly recommend

I don’t normally write poor reviews but I was quite disappointed with this hotel experience.
The cleanliness of the bathroom was substandard - I found a large piece of fingernail next to the bath, several obvious hairs on the floor and hairs on the towels.
The 2 ‘deluxe’ rooms that we stayed in were quite dark and tired-looking. An apparently discarded lamp stood against one wall with nowhere to plug it in. The cot that they gave us for our baby had large stains on the sides.
The rest of the hotel (communal areas) was very nice, with lovely views.
I spoke to the front desk about the fingernail and hairs and they politely said that they would advise housekeeping. But in essence we spent 700 euros for a night in a hotel with dirty bathrooms and tired rooms.

Gorgeous hotel, with character and history. Lovely relaxed stay. Beautiful spacious room. opening out onto a nice terrace. Excellent breakfast with a huge selection. Staff are top notch.

Fantastic old style hotel, slightly in need of a refurb. Terrace for drinks is wonderful. Gym available but Spa closed ..for refurb..
