Barceló Fuerteventura Mar Hotel

Lovely room with a very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. My daughter loved the pool area and I particularly liked the fact that one pool was heated. The pool bar was very convenient for quick snacks. The easy access to the beach and local shops was also good. The reason for not giving five stars was the buffet food. It was lovely at breakfast but fairly medium quality at dinner. Depends what you like, I suppose. On the plus side, we never had to wait for a table in the restaurant and the service was friendly.

A great resort. A true one-stop-shop for those with mobility issues. Everything is within reach. Staff are efficient and friendly. We particularly appreciated Gemma's smiling welcome to our meals and Sandra's professional touch in Tindaya.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this place to our friends but we won't. We want it to ourselves!

We’ve been coming here for nearly 20 years, and it never disappoints. The kids’ club is fantastic, and there are plenty of adult activities too – from sports to cocktail-making classes – so there’s always something to do for everyone. The evening entertainment is great fun, and the buffet is huge with loads of variety. If you upgrade, the onsite restaurants are also excellent. The rooms are beautiful, the hotel is right on the beachfront, and it’s only a two-minute walk into town, which is so convenient. It is definitely on the expensive side, but the quality and experience make it brilliant and worth it.

The two weeks we’ve spent at the hotel have been amazing, the staff are all friendly and happy. We had frequent visits to the Rodizio Brazilian grill buffet which was the best part of the stay for sure. We went as much as we could during our stay as we had unlimited reservations with premium stay.

The manager of the restaurant, Simone, was friendly on every greeting we had with him and went out of his way to make each visit making us rebook for another one. The other staff in there were always on top of clearing drinks, getting new ones and making sure we had food coming till we wanted dessert.

Simone really made a good impression with us that will make this hotel and holiday a great memory to look back on.

The rest of our stay was amazing, the room was clean and tidy and was always reset whenever we asked, we were able to get towels late in evening as extras for when we used the rooms whirlpool. Any small issues we found were instantly sorted and didn’t at all impact our stay but made it even better making us feel comfortable and safe. The pools and service at the bars and buffet restaurant were amazing.

The breakfast buffet was the best part of food after the Brazilian restaurant there was lots of choice and food made to order to your liking.

Great hotel. Nice rooms. Food good. Helpful staff, especially our Waiter Paulo, one of the hardest working and most helpful people in the resort. Personal service and good humour go a long way to making a trip memorable. Location by the sea is good but the beach isn’t the best. It’s a long way to the better beaches. The Barceló app is useless for finding activities but there’s plenty going on

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at this authentic Brazilian restaurant located right within our hotel in Fuerteventura! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The concept is brilliant – a Brazilian grill where they bring over a variety of perfectly cooked meats straight to your table, all bursting with flavor.

There was also a great salad bar with plenty of fresh and tasty options to accompany the meal. What really stood out was the service – the team was incredibly attentive, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Drinks were topped up without us even having to ask, and they were more than happy to bring over any extra condiments or sides with a smile.

Everyone was so friendly, which made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. It felt like a real taste of Brazil, right here in the Canary Islands.

I've stayed in this hotel twice and just booked again for the winter. The rooms are lovely and big, with air con, a fridge, great shower and comfy beds. The hotel is nicely laid out and in a great location. 1 minute from the beach and shops. I never heard any noise from anywhere either. I was lucky enough to have a ground floor room with terrace and sun loungers this year, really made my holiday. Spent the 1st afternoon laid on the sun loungers watching the little ones (and a few adults) having fun in a foam pool party, it looked amazing. Food is always good and can find something to fill you up. Only down side is you have to pay for drinks with the evening meal. I cant comment on the evening entertainment as we did not use it. Another great thing is being so close to the airport, you start your holiday less than an hour after landing 😀 I've found my happy place and hope to enjoy the hotel for many years to come.

Brilliant resort, it's huge with 8 blocks. Extremely clean, pools are ace and the Beach is spectacular. Facilities are top tier and staff are extremely attentive. We had a problem with the noisy Pub playing loud music well past 1:00 AM which was right next to our block. We reported it to the hotel staff and they quickly organised another room for for the night and next day, they changed our rooms to another block with extreme efficiency.

This hotel is truly delightful—spotlessly clean, with excellent cuisine and facilities that cater to everyone. What impresses most are the staff; they are warm, friendly, and go above and beyond to ensure your stay is stress-free. Last night, we enjoyed dinner at the Brazilian restaurant, where Carol, Avril, Dani, Ivan, and Luit took great care of us. They were wonderful hosts, and the food was plentiful and delicious. A particular highlight is the bartenders, who expertly craft cocktails with precision and flair—watching them in action is like witnessing a well-rehearsed performance before the evening show. Overall, it's a fantastic hotel with fabulous staff. Thank you!

Overall, the stay was good — the facilities were clean, food was decent for an all-inclusive, and the location is beautiful. Most of the staff were friendly and professional with the exception of one or two from the bar, who should probably look for a job somewhere else.

I did the online checkout, which showed zero outstanding fees. However, when I went to reception to return the key card, the receptionist suddenly claimed I had an outstanding balance of €30 for two burgers and a beer. I was on all-inclusive and never ordered any of those items.

When I questioned it, she brushed it off and just said, “It’s fine.” No explanation, no accountability. She just wanted to make me pay 30 euros for nothing so she can pocket them. It felt like an attempt to slip in a bogus charge hoping I wouldn’t notice. That left a bad taste at the end of what was otherwise a decent experience.

Tip: Keep your receipts, check your balance online before you leave, and don’t be afraid to challenge anything suspicious. Watch out for surprise charges.
