The hotel and complex are generally very pleasant, and the location is excellent.
Check-in is strictly from 3 pm with little flexibility, which can be inconvenient after travelling.
At check-in, we were given a lot of information, though some of it later turned out to be inaccurate, it doesn’t apply to half board, which unfortunately led to an unexpected additional charge at checkout.
We were advised that we could dine at certain themed restaurants if we booked through the app, but were not made aware — nor was it displayed anywhere — that there is a £32 per person surcharge each time. We had assumed we were only paying for drinks. This could easily catch guests out, especially larger groups.
The themed restaurants themselves didn’t really justify the extra cost. The Mexican buffet wasn’t replenished regularly and involved long queues in a fairly small space, while the Brazilian restaurant involved lengthy waits between small servings of meat, and the process wasn’t explained by staff.
Overall, we enjoyed aspects of our stay but felt let down by the lack of clear information and the value of the themed dining experiences.
We might consider returning in future, but would certainly approach the restaurant options with caution.

We stayed there last week and overall had a great time. We got a room right across from the ocean, which was amazing, and the staff were very friendly. The only disappointment was the all-inclusive option and the salty swimming pools. We didn’t think to check that before booking, especially since the hotel was advertised as family-friendly.
With the all-inclusive package, most of the bars didn’t serve all drinks — only if you had the premium all-inclusive, but there wasn’t even an option to choose that when booking. The alcohol was also quite poor quality, it tasted watered down.

Very nice resort, I spent one week in small house (bedroom, living room, kitchen corner, bathroom, balcony, terrace). Houses are in private gardens (each garden has approximately 10 houses). Very clean, but little bit outdated furniture (all functional). Stuff is very friendly and helpful. All inclusive restaurant offers good variety of foods, I was satisfied.

From the second we arrived at reception we was greeted, the customer service was beyond excellent, your staff couldn’t do enough to help us, your staff helped with our bags & took them to our room.
Every breakfast, lunch & evening meals the service again was exceptional.
The quality of the food is excellent, with a huge variety of different dishes that suits everyone.
Thank you to you all at Barcelo Cassiolla for making our holiday so special and one to remember again!

We absolutely love Barceló Castillo, this was our second visit and it certainly won’t be our last! The hotel facilities are excellent, clean, modern, and there’s always plenty to keep the whole family entertained. The pools are spotless, inviting, and perfect for both adults and kids.
The staff here are exceptional, friendly, and always willing to help, making our stay even more enjoyable. The all inclusive package is brilliant with great variety and quality of food and drinks, we never felt the need to venture out for meals.
Our only slight observation is that the resort and rooms could use a bit more maintenance to keep everything at its best, but it’s a minor point in what has been another fantastic holiday experience. We look forward to coming back again!

We were at the Royal Level in September but have now returned to the beach resort for a month. The apartment is superb with great views from the ground floor. There is a large terrace off the bedroom and a huge terrace off the living room. The kitchen is small but well presented. Enough equipment to make a small meal. The beds are very comfortable. The resort restaurant is excellent with a similar menu to the Royal Level, just a little less choice. The pools are fantastic. There is also a small supermarket behind reception if you need anything.

I have never received such an amazing service ever in any other hotel. The staff was amazing, they were so so nice! We got our room earlier than we should since our plane arrived early, they gave us amazing tips on what to visit in the island and the lady in the front desk was so nice and understanding!! Even the last day they offered to keep our luggages until our time of departure and they also offered us to shower there even if we gave our room back earlier that day.
The room was beautiful, we enjoyed the views to the sea, we slept super well in a very confortable bed, everything was very clean, the food at the restaurant was delicious… what a marvellous stay!
Also, the location was just perfect to visit all the island avoiding long drives. ;)
Can’t wait to come back!!!

Good day, I would like to review my fourteen-day stay at this hotel. Overall, I rate the hotel three stars out of five, and here's why. From the positives:
- nice location right next to the public beach (renting two sunbeds with an umbrella costs 10.50 EU)
- nice walking areas
- live music
- Bungalow ... nice, spacious, cleaned every day, sometimes ants appear in need of a shower, and cockroaches in the kitchenette looking for leftovers. However, I am generally pleased with the bungalow.
- in the All offer we receive two tokens for selected dinners, they are not a la carte (1. Mexican buffet - I advise against it, it did not taste good to me, 2. Brazilian, I was pleasantly surprised, which I will describe in more detail.)
- I did not find snack bars, ice cream, pringers for a fee
Brazilian restaurant - at the beginning we go to a small buffet for snacks (salads, herrings, ...) I DO NOT RECOMMEND LOADING LARGE PORTIONS - rather one small spoonful to try. After some time, waiters appear in the room and bring an appetizer in the form of (grilled sausage, sweet potato ala fries, banana baked in dough, corn on the cob). Then, one by one, the chefs appear, who on large swords bring grilled meats, which they treat us to a small piece. (bacon with cheese, chicken, pork knuckle, turkey breast, pork neck, beef) arrives about every 5 minutes. You can easily eat all this (that's why we eat modest first starters from the buffet). While eating, the waiters serve bread, fries. At our table, a medium-sized token appears, green on one side and red on the other (meaning: green up ... we want to eat, red ... we've had enough and: they will ask us if we are finishing eating and want dessert)
now some minuses ... after two weeks it can be monotonous but that's not the problem. The problem is with lunches and dinners, the food is often cold or undercooked (a little blood likes to run out of the cutlet ... unless someone likes it) Most of the dishes were prepared quickly and haphazardly. I experienced little warm food. Dinner is served with drinks offered by the waiter ... sometimes we manage to eat before he arrives :)
- replacement of towels with fresh ones + 2 EU
Is it worth choosing this hotel? It is worth it for the views and the beach, I will not be there again.

Absolutely awesome resort! The location is amazing and there is no need to leave the resort as everything you need is on site. It was a luxury to have a bungalow with it's own patio area to catch the evening sun. The food was fresh, plentiful and tasty with good quality beverages. Planning a return trip soon.

This was our first trip abroad with our 11-month-old, and while the hotel has a great location and picturesque surroundings, several aspects of our stay could have been much better.
Check-in: The process was incredibly slow—frustrating after a long day of travel, especially with a baby.
Dining: Dinner service doesn’t start until 6:30 pm, which is too late for families with young children. On our first night, we were advised to try the Show Factory for an earlier meal—big mistake. My wife and I became seriously ill after eating two very questionable club sandwiches. Avoid at all costs! It took us 5 days to feel normal again and as a result we never got to eat a full meal as part of our half board package, and found ourselves mainly utilising their plain white toast facilities.
Pools: The larger hotel pools were far too cold for a baby. Fortunately, we found a much warmer pool elsewhere on the grounds.
Room Issues: Our room was disappointingly dark, with a terrace that received no sunlight—something that would have been nice while our baby napped. To make matters worse, a drain splashed water directly onto our sun loungers (see photo).
Hidden Fees: Charging €3 per day for the in-room safe feels ironic, considering its purpose is to secure valuables from hotel staff.
Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the guest experience needs significant improvement—particularly for families traveling with young children.
