Barcelo Lanzarote Active Resort

Unfortunately we can’t recommend this hotel.

ROOMS - We had to move twice. The first room was very damp and we couldn’t stand the smell. We were then moved to another room however we only stayed there for a couple of nights as one day we could hear a rodent in our bathroom behind the wall. I recorded a video and complained to the manager. We were then moved to another room and offered all inclusive as a goodwill gesture - we had half board as we had trips booked for most days.

CLEANLINESS - We made our beds every day, towels were changed daily however the floor has not been touched at all. We did keep the room quite tidy so there was hardly anything that needed doing so was hoping for little things to be done.

FOOD - The most disappointing. The food was almost cold every day. Some of the dishes like sausages tasted very dry like they were from the day before and served again next day. We had to wait some time for empty dishes to be replaced and wandering around the buffet table. Some plates and glasses not cleaned properly, tables and chairs also not cleaned properly. Good choice of bread selection.

POOL - was open at 9.30 am, not enough umbrellas and sunbeds so very disappointed. People queuing to reserve it and I understand it’s not the hotel’s fault however more umbrellas could had been arranged.

ACTIVITIES - lots of different activities for children and adults which was nice.

SPA - My wife did use the spa twice and she can recommend Barbara which was very professional.

Overall we wouldn’t return to this hotel and compared to previous places we stayed at this hotel was quite poor and definitely not 4*.
