Reviews
The rooms are a good size with everything you could need.
If you need an accessible room you can arrange one when booking your holiday.
The Service is excellent in every part of the Resort from Reception, Housekeeping, Entertainment and Dining the staff are friendly and approachable and will help were they can.
There are ample activities during the day & evening entertainment every night.
The Resort is the furthest one from the center of Costa Teguise, getting into the town is easy by bus, the 03 runs every 20mins from outside the resort and cost €1.40 and most bus are accessible ♿
The 03 also goes to Arrecife €1.40 and Puerto del Carmen €2.80 (45mins).
Both are worth a visit.
The food was another highlight: the range on offer was incredible, and as a vegetarian I was really impressed with the variety and quality available every day.
A very special thanks goes to the animation team, especially Tim and Raquel. They were brilliant throughout my stay – always friendly, full of energy, and constantly interacting with us. They really made every activity fun and engaging, and thanks to them I enjoyed every moment.
Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and will definitely be coming back!
That being said, there are a couple of minor negatives that could improve the overall experience:
• The paper cups for cocktails around the pool aren’t very practical. They fall apart quickly and leave your hands sticky – sturdier cups would make a big difference.
• The tables around the Breeze pool are often sticky. I actually brought my own wipes to clean them, which shouldn’t really be necessary.
• The queues for pool beds at 9 a.m. are a bit chaotic. I’m not sure how easy this is to resolve, but perhaps allowing staff to remove towels from beds left vacant for too long would help.
• I noticed a few dead cockroaches around the pool area. On previous visits, staff seemed to be sweeping and tidying the pool areas more frequently during the day, which kept things looking fresher.
Overall, though, this is still a hotel I’d recommend and happily return to. The food, entertainment, and comfortable rooms really make it a great place to stay, and with a few small improvements, it could be even better.
- The royal restaurant is generally better at food quality and you get bottled drinks
- The swimming pools are well maintained and feel clean
- The royal experience desk staff is super friendly and helpful
- Evening live music is good
- The beach is good to have as a marketing advantage, but it’s not maintained and practically abandoned
- Hotel car parking was never an issue
Bad experience:
- The hotel claims it’s not allowed to reserve sunbeds. If you’re 2 minutes late though (opens at 9:00), you’re not going to find anything available. The “racing” queue starts at around 8:30 and it’s just pathetic. Why does the hotel allow this behavior? See photos.
- Dead cockroaches inside and outside the restaurants (not very royal if you ask me)
- Very bad outside cleaning in general, stains and just dirty when it gets wet
- The bars are supposed to serve food/snacks until 17:30 and the drinks until 18:00. In reality, the food section guy leaves for the day around 17:00 and the cocktails stop at 17:20-17:30 (you can still get regular stuff like soda though) - based on the Goa bar experience
- The food choices are not very friendly if one doesn’t eat pork. There were days when 4 out of 5 options were pork. I understand it’s cheaper but some inclusiveness would be appreciated nonetheless
Conclusion: good hotel. A bit worn down. Could use some proper cleaning. I wouldn’t stay here more than once.
Thank you very much for the warm welcome and the stay!
We absolutely loved our stay at Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort! This hotel is perfectly located right in the center of the island, which made it super easy to visit everything Lanzarote has to offer. The pools are great, and the staff were consistently pleasant and helpful.
But what really stood out was the incredible quality of the buffet. It's honestly one of the best hotel buffets we've ever experienced, with an amazing variety of choices and truly high-quality products. Breakfast was equally impressive, with so many options, and everything was delicious.
It's a fantastic choice for exploring Lanzarote – we highly recommend it!
Family trip, hotel offers many amenities, always something to do, great fitness center, olimpic pool. Yoga, cycling inside pool, water polo, all sorts. Animation team at night was amazing, guys really did keep kids entertained. The island also offers great touristy attractions to see..
