Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort: Our Top Choice in Lanzarote!

We absolutely loved our stay at Barceló Lanzarote Active Resort! This hotel is perfectly located right in the center of the island, which made it super easy to visit everything Lanzarote has to offer. The pools are great, and the staff were consistently pleasant and helpful.

But what really stood out was the incredible quality of the buffet. It's honestly one of the best hotel buffets we've ever experienced, with an amazing variety of choices and truly high-quality products. Breakfast was equally impressive, with so many options, and everything was delicious.

It's a fantastic choice for exploring Lanzarote – we highly recommend it!

I’ve just got back from a 9 night stay here and overall I would recommend it. Upon arrival the queue was a long wait to check in. There was snacks and drinks available as we had late check in. The rooms were clean and we had a cot provided. Make sure you activate your key otherwise it won’t work. The all inclusive was generally okay and always something to eat. Breakfasts were the best meal. They have a gluten free corner throughout the day too. The chef came out and told me what had no dairy (lactose) in as my little boy is DF so this was great. The pools were chilly but warmed up throughout the day & we always got sunbeds. It’s a little out of the way from the shops and bars but only 5€ in a taxi. The entertainment was pretty rubbish and started quite late. Kids entertainment was just the usual. Staff were all friendly enough. Overall it was a lovely holiday.

I'm returning from this stay very satisfied overall, it's a very nice hotel with excellent reception. I have no comments on the room, it's fine, the restaurant is great with very accessible hours, the team works there perfectly. The gardeners pay attention to details. I thank the young animators who accompanied us during this week. Tim, Eva. Really very nice. We recommend choosing this hotel if you want to visit the island, beautiful excursions are organized there.

I had a great stay at this hotel. Absolutely loved the design of my room and I had a sea view. Great customer service everyone was lovely. Drink on arrival. I really enjoyed the food as part of my all inclusive and was great to be able to get a drink whenever you wanted. Good entertainment/activities. Had an excellent experience highly recommend and I would stay there again!

We just had a superb 7 night stay at Barcelo. The hotel itself is split over 2 sites, we stayed by the Plaza, which was ideal for my young family. We took advantage of the gym, facilities, and excellent active plan, taking part in a range of sessions. If you are training for a triatholon/ race or wish to simply have an active holiday as we did, I highly recommend it. The Barcy club is superb and my 6 and 8 year old requested to go everyday, which allowed us to get a quick work out in or some much needed downtime. The rooms are clean and the hotel is regularly cleaned daily. Food and drink is spot on. Very fresh and a huge range of cuisine for everyone. Plenty of drink choice. Staff are all very helpful. We will definitely go again.

Rooms were basic but comfy beds fr a good night's sleep. Hotel was gorgeous and spotless, food was good and plenty of choice and drinks good too. Staff were great and could not do enough for us, hubby had a accident 4 days before we arrived but changed our room when we got there so no steps to climb and took us from reception to room on a golf buggy and brought us back to reception on buggy on departure day, hotel is little bit out of centre but lots to do there so no need to leave. Pools gorgeous and plenty of sunbeds so no getting up early to fight for one. Would definitely recommend.

This is a very busy noisy resort. There is plenty to do for young families but there's a lot of chaos.
The restaurants are extremely busy and on 2 occasions I got no coffee with my breakfast as the queue was too long.
The food was good with a lot of choice.
There is one adults only pool but the lifeguard spent most of his time doing live video calls with his girlfriend with no regard to the guests nearby.
We were not given any information on the resort when we arrived so had to go back to reception to get basic information on the safe, key for safe, towels, restaurants etc.
Someone came into our room one night although it was locked.
The list goes on but I will stop here.

Just got back from a 7 day stay at this hotel.Simply brilliant. I don't normally send reviews but this hotel, the staff, the food, the selection, the fitness options, the rooms all 5 star. Well done to the team and all the staff that made this week perfect. A class act. We will be back

For a 4* Hotel, the rooms feel somewhat outdated, and there were some cleanliness issues, including cockroaches. Additionally, the view from the northern rooms overlooks a power station, burning fossil fuel, which may not appeal to everyone.

On the positive side, the service was excellent, the buffet offered a great variety of dishes, and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing, creating a pleasant experience for guests.

Overall I wouldn't recommend it to my friends or family.

This place is fantastic! The food was absolutely delightful, and the room exceeded my expectations for comfort. The entire property was spotless and meticulously cleaned every day. The only downside was the air conditioning in our suite—it didn’t cool the room as well as we’d hoped but I’d still recommend it as there are plenty of things to keep you occupied.
