Reviews
Another time I asked for an ice cube for my wife's eye drops she said: Buy it in the supermarket!
The last day I asked her, which terminal would be my airline the next day, her answer, for security reasons I better look at the information board in the airport. Magnificent service!
The reception in the morning, he is very friendly and helpful.
Having stayed here many times previously, we most recently checked in late at night. There wasn't a soul around except for Marina who was behind the small reception desk pecking away at her keyboard. I approached the desk and offered up a 'good evening' and our ID cards at which point the pecking paused, the head turned slightly and said "you have to wait, I am busy!"
After the initial shock of such a statement/tone and in the absence of anything else around (no sirens, no flames licking at the door, no crumbling walls) I offered up "perhaps you could do 'that' (pecking) later as we are here...right now?"
"No, I have to finish this" was the retort, without so much as a glance in our direction.
Stunned into silence (not an easy feat others will tell you) I waited a further full 3 minutes until Dame Marina deemed it her (new) duty to check us in. Astounding behavior for the 'face of the hotel'.
I'm 6'2" and was checked into an accessible (wheelchair friendly) room which had a wet room with a shower head positioned 3 feet (1m) off the floor. Great if you're in a wheelchair, not so useful if it only reaches your knees (unless being clean only from the knees down is all that concerns you).
When challenged once more back at what was fast becoming the reception of Dante's inferno, Dame Marina snapped that they were full and it was the only room available. When I explained that the shower didn't have a normal height rail that the shower head could be moved up and down on to accommodate anyone that wasn't either in a wheelchair or an oompah-loompah she curtly replied that I should shower "like everyone else!" I've lived in Spain a few years now and while much kneeling occurs in general I remain so far unaware of any peculiar shower habits such as kneeling before a shower head.
Clearly Dame Marina considered me a nuisance. I consider she is in the wrong profession!
There was no 'Duty Manager' available or on call and indeed Dame M was the only person (pretending to be) working in the property, however it was confirmed the following morning that the hotel was indeed full (management issue for being greedy and overbooking!) AND that Dame M was only 3 days into her new job there! Nearly 1 month later has she managed to survive there? Probably, because it appears management don't care to train or supervise and instead unleash the rudeness of Marina onto their guests. I won't find out directly as I will not be staying at this property again which is also their loss as many thousands of my euros have been passed over their reception desk to this point, alas, now someone else will have to put up with me requiring a full size shower in my room! How very dare I!
Yes, it's affordable, but now you know why - zero budget on staff training! Stay elsewhere or consider yourselves duly warned!
