Hotel Riu Palace Meloneras

Great services for a great price. Nice hotel, a short walk away from Maspalomas Beach, good selection of pools. Food absolutely fabulous...great choice, cooked perfectly. Staff is freibdly and nice, a solid choice for a great holiday. Secret tip: get the rooms with the garden view în the bungalows...the shower is absolutely unbelievable!!!, rooms are large, cleaning super ok. To mention Jose Emilio from the reception, great guy, save our holiday!!

Writing this on our last day. As usual had a wonderful holiday. Our room was ready for us when we arrived. Laura at reception was as efficient as ever and after a welcome drink we were quickly settled in. The room was very clean and there was a selection of fruit and water along with lovely flowers awaiting us. The food was as usual wonderful with a wide selection to suit all tastes. The two speciality restaurants were a nice change and we ate in each. It is very funny watching certain people hovering around the restaurant before it actually opens and then all rushing to get in. A bit like the rush for sunbeds in the morning you see at certain hotels ( not this one). Plenty of tables for everyone. The swimming pools are lovely. Plenty of sunbeds and excellent pool service. It is so peaceful at the swimming pools no piped music thankfully which would spoil the atmosphere. Again thankfully there are only a few activities at the hotel so no aqua aerobics or the like. The majority of the staff are absolutely wonderful. A big thank you to the amazing Felix, Romero, Janette and Erika and the biggest star in the place Manolo. Every hotel should have a Manolo. We hope to return again very soon and will count down the days until we do.

My stay at Riu Meloneras Palace was absolutely fantastic – stunning location, excellent service, delicious food, beautiful rooms, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. I can’t wait to come back!

Fantastic hotel in an exceptional area. The food, service and facilities were excellent and the hotel was lively, yet chilled at the same time. We initially thought that the spirits were expensive in the bar, that is until they poured the measures... Great value and a good selection of whiskies. The room we were allocated was a bonus. Directly overlooking one of the infinity pools and the ocean, we could not have asked for more. The location was stunning - close enough to sandy beaches, the dunes, and a multitude of bars, restaurants and shops. The 'White Party' at the hotel next door was a bonus - an outstanding night. The only niggles that we could mention would be that the gym is really dated and the equipment could be in better order. Some of the 'adult only' areas could also be better policed. These were minor and I'd have no hesitation in recommending this as a fantastic place to come for a relaxing break.

A First Class standard is provided every time we visit this hotel! The staff make this place the best, which I passed onto one of the managers on the morning as we left! Each member of staff from the dining room to the pool area to the room hostesses treated with friendliness and excellent service. I could fault one thing and we would be happy to return over and over again. Lovely family memories made ❤️ thank you Riu Palace Meloneras x

Stayed at the Riu Palace 9th -16th August. 5 Adults 2 children 6 and 3 yrs . We had 3 rooms 2 in hotel and 1 garden room. Rooms are excellent great bathrooms comfortable beds absolutely faultless. Good housekeeping. Restaurants excellent food amazing! Pool areas perfect. A really good stay . Only slight grumble that didn’t bother me but did my eldest daughter was the attitude of other guests and some staff , I’m thick skinned rude people I forget.

Great Hotel !!! Especially the pool and the food!

A place to unwind and relax. The pools were amazing and heated to a good temperature so going for a swim was a pleasure. I have been to other hotels in March in the Canaries and they have had wonderful pools but absolutely freezing so can’t go in them. Very important to me as I like to have a morning swim before breakfast. I would return to the hotel just for the pools. Everything else was very good, the food, service, cleanliness. Good size rooms with a very comfortable bed and lots of storage space. Lovely balcony with good views. We were on the 3rd floor with a side sea view room. The hotel has a feeling of grandeur especially in the reception area. My one gripe is that we got the RIU transfer to the hotel which took about an hour which was acceptable but going to the airport they transfer was going to pick us up 5 hours before our flight. We did not want to hang about the airport for that length of time so got the hotel transfer which cost us 55 euro.

Arrived here to friendly but professional welcome. (Other local hotels could learn from RIU) Offered a welcome drink in their Rosebar which was very welcome after a day of travelling. Room allocated was located as requested prior. Housekeeping service was spot on and timely. We found the hotel an oasis of calmness during the day - no problem with sunbeds unless you wanted the infinity pool and the right balance of evening entertainment. Food choice and the quality was excellent in the main restaurant and the Krystal al a carte. Bar service through the hotel was excellent and prices reasonable. Add on the perfect location leading down to the front promenade - this hotel ticked all our boxes. Would return without question.

We spent a week at this beautiful hotel in Gran Canaria, really close to the Dunes in Maspalomas.

The hotel is spotless, and if you ask me, the cleaning ladies are doing their job too well. They will knock on your door frequently to see if you want your room cleaned more than once. It’s a bit too much.

The food was plenty and with lots of choices, plus new dishes every day. That was great.

Now, I didn’t give it 5 stars because of the atmosphere. Indeed, the average age of people going to this hotel is around 60. So you do feel a bit strange surrounded only by people over this age. But what’s even stranger is the show the waiters put for the ones who give them lots of tips or keep on coming back. It makes you feel a bit out of place, and I didn’t expect that from a 5* hotel. And you can feel the difference in their behavior with the rest of the people. Also, remember, this is a 5 star hotel and the prices are accordingly.

When we grew tired of their ‘show’, we decided to rent a car for 2 days and visited the island, which we highly recommend. If we ever come back here, we will definitely stay in a different part of the island.
