Don Gregory by Dunas - Adults Only Hotel

...got back early hours of friday morning after 5 nights SUPERB stay at the don gregory. Couldn't fault the place 😁. Stayed b and b with my dear friend in a double room ( bed was superking) and was huge. Room beautifully clean. Balcony was superb ( we were on second floor) .only slight gripe was furniture being either put out or dragged up above us at the pool/ terrace area.
Food was cooked beautifully and plenty of choice. ALL staff were friendly, courteous and professional and full of smiles. Our view was truly incredible. I couldn't QUITE grasp which tap served which shower, but, we survived!!😜😜.... we / i definitely will be back. Hotel is wonderful. Thank you to jet 2 staff for being superb and to ALL staff at this amazing hotel!😁😁 xxx

Wonderful hotel. Great location—transportation and shops nearby, yet not in the middle of a crowded hotel area. A pleasant surprise upon arrival—a minibar, beach bag, and flip-flops, along with a spa visit. We stayed in a duplex, which was very convenient—a bath with a shower on one floor and a walk-in shower on the other. Comfortable beds and a pillow menu. Towels are changed twice a day. Water and coffee capsules are regularly replenished. Sun loungers are not left for more than an hour, and then the towels are removed. Theme nights in the restaurant are fresh every day. The reception staff was always helpful and answered all questions. Overall, an excellent hotel with a convenient location and high-quality service.

This was one of our best vacations. The staff was very friendly, the food was amazing, the beach is nice and clean, the activities in the hotel were good fun and the evening entertainment was great!
I arrived with some hesitations as I am eating strictly gluten free, but thanks to the Chefs and Bojana I felt very safe and quickly changed my half board arrangement to All Inclusive. Together with Bojana I created my very own menu for each day and the chaefs made sure they prepare my meals aside of the rest meals to avoid the contamination.
Overall, the hotel was very clean. We had a lots of fun thanks to the activities (yoga, aqua aerobics, table tennis, darts, pilates etc) arranged by lovely Andrew. Also, as it is "adults only" hotel, one could catch on his sleep as the hotel was very quiet in the mornings.
The massages were incredible and the welness area as well.
Many thanks to Bojana, Eden, Andrew, Katarina and many others for this lovely experience! Big compliments to all the kitchen staff, thanks to whom this was my very first vacation where I didn't lose the weight!

Our stay at Don Gregory by Dunas was absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is calm, relaxing, and perfect for anyone looking to truly unwind. The staff is phenomenal – friendly, attentive, and always ready to make you feel at home.
A special thank you goes to Bojana, who took our experience to a whole new level. Her kindness, professionalism, and warm personality made our stay unforgettable. It’s rare to meet someone who can make such a lasting impression, and she certainly did.
We’re leaving with beautiful memories and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Hotel with Potential, but the All Inclusive Package Needs Improvement

I stayed in a Premium Room on the 9th floor (room 913) with the All Inclusive package at Don Gregory by Dunas. The hotel has a lot of positives, but I also experienced several issues that I think future guests should be aware of, although management did respond very well.

The All Inclusive package was disappointing at first

For a premium all inclusive, I expected more. Many basic items were not included, such as:

- Smoothies
- Iced coffee (they gave me ice and coffee separately to mix myself)
- Ice cream
- Heineken and some other branded drinks

It felt more like a half-board with drinks rather than true all inclusive.
This was my biggest disappointment.

Management did listen and take action

I spoke directly with the Hotel Director, and he was very professional and understanding.

He told me that:

- They plan to expand what is included in the All Inclusive
- They will hire mixologists to improve drink quality
- I would be reimbursed for everything I had to pay extra

This response was impressive and gave me confidence that the hotel is moving in the right direction.

Room – Beautiful view, but some upkeep needed

The Premium room had an amazing view and was comfortable.
However, some small maintenance issues (like minor wear and tear) made it feel less “premium” than expected.
I believe they are working on these details, but it’s something guests should know.

Buffet – Small but good quality

The buffet isn’t very large, but the food changes daily and tastes good. It offers enough different options to enjoy the meals without getting bored.

Drinks and Cocktails

To be honest, the cocktails were quite weak and not very tasty, except for the mojito.
The quality didn’t match a 4-star “premium” hotel.
However, with professional mixologists coming soon, I expect this to improve.

Pool and Beach Area

The pool area looks nice, but:

- It gets very crowded
- Sunbeds are very close to each other, with not much space to relax

The beach is right in front of the hotel, which is fantastic, but the sunbeds cost 9€ per day, which feels expensive considering it’s an all inclusive hotel.

Staff and Service

The waiters were really nice and tried their best, even when the all inclusive limitations made things a bit awkward. Their friendliness and effort made the stay much more pleasant.

What makes this hotel stand out

Despite the issues, the management and staff truly listen.
Many hotels ignore feedback, this one actually acts on it.
That gives me hope that things will get much better very soon.

Overall

Amazing location, lovely views, and outstanding service from people like Bojana, the Hotel Director, and the waiters.
Yes, there were disappointments (especially the all inclusive limitations and crowded pool), but the hotel is clearly working on improvements.

Would I return?
Yes! Especially to see the positive changes they are implementing!

The hotel is in a fantastic location half an hour from the airport. The reception area was bright & welcoming. Room was clean bright & airy. We were fortunate enough to get a room with the infinity pool just outside overlooking the sea. In regards to the food there are plenty of options for all with plenty of desserts. Every night in the restaurant there is a different theme for food we experienced Chinese, Mexican & our final night will be Sushi. Each night there is entertainment for the guests & the best one was the Tina Turner impressionist. She was truly outstanding. The best thing about the hotel I can say is the staff who are hard working, always smiling & friendly. We had a few issues on arrival which were dealt very quickly by the Guest Experience Team & the manager. With the hotel overlooking the sea & shops in close proximity we would definitely recommend if it's somewhere you are looking to recharge. Nearby there are plenty of options to eat at if you fancy something different there is a great Indian restaurant across the road called Tandoori Flavour in the Shopping Centre & a restaurant called Victoria serving fantastic food. There is also a Spa & Gym which l never had the chance to try. All in all we had a great week made special by meeting some great people, making new friends & by being made to feel so welcome. If you enjoy drinking coffee unless you are in one of the Premium Rooms or Suites these are not replenished daily so may l suggest you bring your own. So if you go & there are any issues please let the Guest Experience Team or Reception aware they will go above & beyond to rectify your problems. Excellent hotel staff & team 5/5 for their efforts, we applaud & thank them for their professionalism.

I stayed here for a quick trip after attending a medical conference in Italy. I was quite happy with the hotel. My room was clean and ready when I arrived and comfortable. The view from the balcony
Was lovely.

The main pool was nice, and an important difference from Caribbean resorts is that any time you could walk up and find a lounge chair compared to making up at the crack of dawn to reserve chairs. The drink service was good, though not quite as attentive as I would have liked.

My only concern was that I travelled here with friends/colleagues and one of 5 nights we were having a nice time on the patio outside bar. Another guest screamed at us and threw water off their balcony at us. This was before midnight at an all inclusive resort. Nobody was hurt. But this is completely unacceptable. And when it was raised to the hotel staff we were told that “it’s a quiet hotel” instead of dealing with the problem. Laughing on a patio bar before midnight while on vacation should not be considered inappropriate and the handling was completely wrong.
