Lovely hotel with great views We stayed for two nights in thus hotel over a weekend and it was very nice. From greeting at reception to exploring the rooftop amenities the place is very lovely and comfortable. The location is good with a lift from the street level up to the hotel where because if its elevated level over the city allows for really great panoramic views. Only looses points for the fact...
Came here for one night in San Sebastian before heading to the ferry in Bilbao. This is a wonderful hotel. All seems so new and it's location is just perfect. The views from the roof and rooftop pool across the city were stunning. My boy LOVED the pool after a long drive! The hotel is easy walking distance to the beach and old city where it was buzzing but friendly and family friendly. We went from...
If you want a luxury hotel that is reasonably priced, a delicious breakfast, pool with a view and good service then stay at Hotel Catalonia. I write this review from the rooftop pool and can safely say it’s one of the most conveniently located hotels I’ve ever stayed in that has a touch of class. It is worth paying extra for the breakfast - the choice is excellent. The beds are so comfy we are struggling...
A nice hotel that's close to all the shops you could want in the new town and not so far from the old town either. A great location for us whilst we stayed. Rooms were great and the breakfast was good too. Some omissions like no dressing gowns, our double beds were twins pushed together, a lot of the rooms don't have a view, and the gym and pool were much smaller than in the photos online - you would...
We had an okay stay at the hotel - overall, it is a clean, modern hotel which feels fresh and well run. Our room was fine and comfy enough, but a bit odd. We requested a double room but were given a twin room with the beds pushed together - reception couldn't find us another room so we got a couple of drinks tokens as an apology. Big sparse walls with green wallpaper which would really could have...
Just love it ❤️ . They even got a elevator going all the way to the city... The rooms are huge , bathrooms are lovely . Parking house under the hotel . Just love this hotel ! And will go back next time I'm in the area ...

Good hotel efficient friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Great location for the beach and local cafés
A very unimpressive stay. The hotel is decently located, with a bus stop in front and about a 15 minutes walk away from the beach. The rooms can be a bit cramped depending on which one you are allocated and they need some TLC. My sink stopper wouldn’t let the water drain, the night light didn’t work, the iron didn’t work. The sliding door to the bathroom is inconvenient. Water pressure is not great...
Nice hotel . We had a dinner here - the meal was good- the salad was wonderful! It’s a little far from the downtown/restaurant. However, the walk along the beach was fantastic!
Looking forward to staying here again. Very quiet area! Short walk to the beach, shops & restaurants. Staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
San Sebastian itself is THE City. The Hotel is nice and offers A Garage to safe your Car. The Price is a little to high for my taste, and I could not try the spa and benefits of the Hotel. We were just there for one night on our way to Portugal. The beds were good and two free waters were offered.
Good hotel with a decent location. Just a word of warning - its on a hill so if you plan on walking in San sebastian with a full belly - you may need a taxi 😂

Hotel was close to the beach and about a 15 minute walk from the old town. The hotel provides beach towels. It has a tiny fitness room that fits 2 people. The room is quite large. The only negative was that the room airco was very loud. We liked the bar in the lobby that still looks like it is inside a convent, however at busy times of the day the staff seemed overwhelmed and service was slow.
I loved everything about the hotel but especially our concierge! She went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Rooms are in Swedish design, and beds are comfortable. Modern with the amenities we need. There is a rooftop pool. Location was good - required us to do some walking. I went for a morning run along the beach.
Wonderful, modern hotel, ideally situated for all the sights and areas of San Sebastian. The rooms are comfortable, good storage, large bathrooms and well maintained. The staff here are also very helpful and friendly. One small concern was breakfast. Everyone had to be shown how the coffee machine worked, and we had to make our own teabags from a huge array of tea leaves. I would much prefer to be...

Very friendly staff! Room was good for 3 people and a dog. I didn't walk around but my parents did and they liked the area Parking area right next to the hotel. Thank God. (I have trauma from the last hotel I was in Spain)
Really good hotel. Close to a bus stop which takes you into town but easy to walk within 20/30 mins. Clean rooms which are modern and have all the facilities. Not the newest of hotels but feels well kept. High powered showers which is always a win!
The hotel is a little tired and needs some refurbishment. There is no bar or restaurant and the hotel is in a beautiful residential area but quite a distance from the nearest bar or restaurant. The staff (two receptionist) that I met were extremely helpful and courteous. Plenty soft parking spaces.
Rooms - a bit dated, but very well cleaned every day. Had a huge TV in the room. Receptionists polite and with decent knowledge of English. I've seen how helpful, polite and patient they were with some quite rude guests. Breakfast - ok, same every morning, with a very polite and always smiling waitress. Location is a bit far from the city, but that also means it is much more quiet during the night...
Very happy with this hotel. Clean, comfortable & affordable rooms. Great breakfast and a short walk to all that San Sebastian has to offer. Highly recommended.
Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. My room was spotless but showed signs of wear and tear and the furniture was a bit aged. The bed was comfortable but a bit too soft for me. The bathroom was compact to put it mildly, but the water flow and temperature were excellent. Breakfast was really good, served in a large basement room with an eclectic mix of furniture and 'things' worth visiting. The...

I really like the hotel and enjoy everything except that there was no toilet amenity and when we asked for it, staff came to bring us… but quite stingy… 2 ladies for 1 tooth paste. Common, the rate is over 1000 Euro a night … it is not cheap guest house. (The hotel even charge nearly 50 Euro for parking, so you understand what I mean and I am Bonvoy member). Beside that incident, I like everything...
Our stay at Maria Cristina in San Sebastián was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's location is unbeatable, nestled in the heart of the city with easy access to the beautiful beaches and vibrant old town. Within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. So close to the beach. You can use their bikes to explore this beautiful city. Concierge is super helpful for restaurant reservations and advice. Beautiful rooms! Amazing breakfast.
The service from the moment we stepped into the lobby was incredible. Our room was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious and I loved that you could order additional items aside from the buffet. We loved our stay here and hope to be back some day!
We came to Hotel Maria Cristina for our honeymoon. Overall, the experience was fantastic. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Also in a perfect location - right next to the old town, very walkable to all parts of the city. The staff was really friendly and went WAY above and beyond to make our stay special. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting San Sebastián!
I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, all the hotel has a very elegant aesthetic. It is located in the best part of San Sebastián, near the most popular area for shopping, eating and walking. I had breakfast and it was amazing.

Amazing experience from the moment we arrived, having champagne outside on the deck to the amazing lunch, service was very attentive and not overly done. We got a look and tour of the kitchen and met the chef himself. Cocktails later that evening made the day complete.
Fenomenal experience from beginning to end. The quality and presentation of food outstanding. The explanations and overall service great. Enjoyed discovering some new wines thanks to the sommelier. Worth every star!
The newly renovated hotel and restaurant are absolutely stunning. However, the lack of atmosphere was noticeable, as the restaurant was less than a third full for lunch, even at the end of July. We dined here eight years ago and were blown away by the food. While the dishes are still good, they didn’t quite deliver the WOW factor expected at this price point. It’s still worth a visit, but with so...

Great hotel in the beautiful neighbourhood of Onderetta. The rooms are much larger than you get in the Old Town and the bathroom was fantastic, with a great power shower. Lots of lovely, quality restaurants in the area and Onderetta beach is less than a 5 min walk away. It’s a 20 min walk to the centre of San Sebastián but it’s a stunning, totally flat walk we gladly made at least twice a day. We will...
We booked our trip last minute in high season with this great hotel in a perfect location. Everything was completely booked out and the only reason we got so lucky to have a spot, was because of the persistent help Juan gave us to find a solution. We took therefore an air matrass for our child, but at the end we got our desired king bed with an extra bed for our child.
5-10 min walk to San Sebastian beech. Good breakfast and clean but only shower and no bath tub. Close to local super market. Need to go outside once to go fitness gym.
Stayed for 2 nights with our dog! The room was a good size, the bed was super comfy and the staff at check in were very friendly! The hotel is close to the beach only about a 10 minute walk! The old town is further but very easy to walk to or a take a bus. We will be back!
A lovely hotel in a quiet neighbourhood - quite far walk from the old town but if you are up for a hefty exercise this is fine. There are a good decent amount of restaurants and cafes nearby. The room is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It is spacious enough with a luxurious large bathroom. We appreciate the extra large sized bed with firm mattress and fluffy pillows. Parking is 4euros along...
Decent and modern hotel in San Sebastián. Hotel is quite far away from old town and touristic places. Value for money with all full amenities in rooms and the welcome dessert platter. Rooms are a bit small though got good view of neighboring buildings. At late night heard some shouting from restaurants nearby. Nice breakfast spread though a bit on the high price.

My family and I did not stay at the hotel, but we did stop by for a drink at their bar, and we're glad we did. I recommend trying a Gin+Tonic with a gin called "Nordes". The staff at this hotel is very nice and very accommodating! We lost some luggage and the main concierge Leire deserves special note. I had an amazing time at this hotel. The service was great. The concierge was helpful with exploring ideas, dinner reservations, and a very early morning taxi booking. My room along the water was beautiful and so comfortable.
Gorgeous hotel with old world charm right on beach. Everything was perfect, but I accidentally left 2 dresses in the closet. The housekeeper (I think Francis) turned them in to Nuria at front desk and they forwarded them to me in Madrid. What fabulous service. We cannot wait to return to this magical place…this time I’ll check closets before we leave.
Great hotel, friendly helpful staff. Great location for seafront and easy walk into old town.

Staff very very very professional and helpful. If I owned a hotel, I would hire every single one of them. They only want to make your stay perfect and can speak every language. Perfect location if you do not want to get with the car in the city center. On the other hand, there's not so much around. We really liked the decoration of the room and particularly the bathroom. The bed was very big and comfortable. We also enjoyed the food from the room service. The burrata and truffle salad was especially good
Cosy room, quiet, interior design focused on open space concept, interesting artwork, nice atmosphere. Potential for improvement in receiving guests at breakfast. If for some reason the number of room is not in the list the staff should check details with the receptionists instead of disturbing the guests over and over again. Other than that it was worth the experience.

This is a fantastic hotel. A little out of the city but the bus was really easy. The forest next door was amazing for a run and a walk. We loved the space, smart design and welcome glass of wine!
Nice hotel but on the hotel pictures, we believe it is in the middle of the forest but even if there is a forest, the hotel is located in a business park with ugly buildings around, a bit disappointing. The hotel is not in great shape, the wooden floor in the swimming pool and outside in the balcony of the restaurant need to be polished. The forest in backyard of the hotel is an amazing plus to this very nicely designed hotel. The only draw back is there is only one restaurant/cafe which limits the gastronomy options, especially that there are no restaurants walking distance from the hotel. Very friendly and efficiently run hotel. Loved the breakfast. Great bar staff. Easy to navigate into town down the river.
pleasant - we didn't use the ground floor bar/restaurant facilities - some food shops nearby - a long walk to the beach riverside stroll or there are regular buses
Absolutely great value for money! We slept in the 7th floor with a great view. Room and bathroom were spacious. Very friendly staff.
Quite disappointed. The rooms didn't meet the standards of a 4-star hotel; the furniture seemed worn out with signs of neglect in the renovation. Additionally, I found two towels with stains and noticed some moisture-related insects in the bathroom (silverfish). Overall, for the price, there are several other options that offer better value and quality.
The hotel ambience and the personel service excellent. The room and bathroom clean and modern. The only that a little inconvenience is the bathtub to high and it doesn't has security handles. I guess I prefer shower. Also, noot to many bath towels wall holders. The breakfast very good including the coffee. The hotel is very centric. If I return to the area I will book there again.
The location of the hotel was a little far out, but the historic part of the city could be reached on foot in about 15 minutes

Sweet old hotel up on the hill overlooking the ocean. Though it was raining from time to time (which is rather normal), we could spent quite a bit outside and enjoy the stunning view of the ocean and the nearby mountains. Great location, quiet, comfortable and contemporary room. A suggestion for a 5 star review - leave some tea bags and not just coffee in the rooms. Not everyone is an espresso coffee drinker. Lovely reading room. Restaurant lighting could be more subtle to enhance ambience.
Pleasant stay for a couple of nights. Nice quiet area away from crowds in the old town.
