We absolutely loved our long weekend at the hotel - location is perfect and the rooms overlooking the bay are just amazing, gorgeous sunrise and sunset. The staff at the hotel couldn’t be more friendly or helpful, and the rooms are perfect. Modern bathrooms, traditional yet modern bedrooms and the bed is HUGE and super comfy. We’ll definitely be back x
What a fabulous place to stay in San Sebastian! From Andrea's very warm welcome to Leires's daily chats with our family and kids I couldn't fault this excellent example of top class hospitality. Our junior suite with sweeping sea views was perfect for our needs, and the breakfast (and service) exceptional. The location is also perfect for beach access and just five minutes from the Old Town too. Parking...
We stayed 2 nights as a family of four with two kids in a city view room. The experience was excellent from start to finish: room service meals of surprising quality, and staff who helped with everything immediately and with real care. The location couldn’t be better—right on the beach and close to the old town. The gym access is off-site, about 7 minutes down the beach. While the equipment is a little...
Outstanding stay here, with impeccable panoramic views of both the Bay and Old Town. The bar was fantastic too on both food and drinks and service. Some of the best water pressure in the rainfall shower. The beach with the softest sand right outside the hotel's door. We were very very happy to have chosen here for our 5 night stay in San Sebastián. Although there is construction nearby, the windows...
Besides the obvious, that the proximity to the beach makes for the most incredible views; the rooms and hotel aesthetic are beautiful; the staff are so kind and helpful; the food and drinks are delicious and the bartenders are so sweet and accommodating. The location is also great. So close to the water and a bunch of great places to eat and drink. Could not recommend this place enough
What a amazing hotel, beautiful beach view and really convenient to the SOHO area

Modern stylish hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms.Staff were efficient and helpful, facilities were impressive especially the gym. Very pretty walk to the beach,10 minutes or old town,20 minutes
very clean place. lovely stay. a bummer pool is only open during summer.
Large hotel, about 5 minutes walk to the beach, 20 minutes to shopping area. Large underground parking with plenty of e,ectric charging bays. Reception large with bar and restaurant and three staff seemed to be on duty. Room pleasant and clean/tidy with all you may need including a decent outside balcony with table/chairs. Good power shower and well equipped bathroom. Not the hotels fault, but I just...
I had the best experience corresponding with Manuel. As soon as I entered the hotel he made me feel welcome, valued, and comfortable. His service was exceptional as he genuinely cares for his guests. Thank you for making my time in San Sebastián so amazing!!
New hotel very clean nice rooms and wonderful pool.  It’s 25 min walk to the Centro but there is a bus for two euro and tax 9 euro, in the evening it’s hard te get a taxi and find the bus. WE had to walk back twice.  The door locks make a very hard nice which awakes you in the morning
The initial impression of the public areas is very good, although maybe a trifle corporate in style, and there is excellent underground parking available at additional cost. We booked a superior room for the extra space, and were allocated a pleasant balcony room on the second floor. However, we initially failed to notice the hotel's Plant-room immediately below us, which ran throughout the night....

Nice hotel We stayed here a few night and really enjoyed it. The rooms were big enough and it was fairly good value as San Sebastian tends to be really expensive especially in Summer. The hotel was not really walking distance from town center for us, but it was not a problem as we had the car. If we are back in San Sebastian we would definitely come back here.
Great location, 5-10 minute walk from the beach, the opposite side to old town. About a 40 minutes walk into old town, however there was so many restraunts in the area. Service was fab, when we got there, we thought the room smelt a little damp, ask to change and they swapped us immediately. On day 3 we found out about the app they have, where you can order basically anything, from cutlery, to phone...
Good location, very accommodating for dogs. We brought our GSD with us and all the staff were very welcoming. Room service was fantastic. Parking rates are high but expected given the demand and space. Street parking is available if you manage to get it. However the GM dog rates are very high compared to other hotels in both Spain and France, they're half the cost everywhere else we have stayed which...
Located close to Monte Igueldo and the Ondarreta Beach, easy to reach by car, however to the old town it takes a while by foot. We enjoyed our stay, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean, the hotel staff friendly, breakfast buffet very good. We booked a parking spot in the hotel garage for better convenience, however there would have been also parking spots by the street in a short foot walk...
Had a very pleasant stay here. Enjoyed the spacious rooms and good air con and appreciated the helpful reception staff. Dogs are allowed and aren’t supposed to be left unattended but we did hear barking one night. Also walls seemed thin or soundproofing is limited - could hear people closing and opening doors and talking next door. Would stay again for the neighbourhood and proximity to the promenade...
It feels good. The hotel notes are wrong. There is a private bathroom. The overall feeling is very good, it is worth recommending, the breakfast is also rich, very quiet, clean, and the price is reasonable.

Beautiful old grand dame hotel. Nicely done, General Manager was charming, attentive and made the rounds. Concierge needs more training. Not knowledgeable in different types of restaurants or museums. The GM told us about the Chillida outdoor museum. Terrific!!
Amazing property! A former palace. A beautiful view from our room. Service impeccable; staff very professional and friendly. Only suggestion: The Asian bistro had a nice ambiance but the food could be improved. All in all we had an excellent stay at Maria Cristina!
Top luxury in San Sebastian The Maria Christina is a luxury property in the center of San Sebastian and offers great ambience, service, and comfort. Close to all the attractions: the old town, the beaches, and the scenic neighborhoods, this is a fabulous place to indulge yourself.
One of the best in San Sebastian! Overall this was a fantastic hotel to stay in, first the pro's: - very comfortable room and bed - Alejo, the front desk / concierge manager is WONDERFUL. He and his team went above and beyond to make sure we made the most of our stay (set us up with private autos, reservations, great restaurant suggestions, etc) The not so good: - no a la carte breakfast, either...
What a great place to stay. Thanks to all the staff who helped make our time here memorable. The servers who worked breakfast, those in the bar during the evening, and the concierge all added to a great experience. Thanks again.

Awesome I recommend this hotel and place awesome. Most beautiful places around the hotel.
Hotel is well located but not very well maintained, old furniture and needs renovation. The rooms that face the street, the noise is horrible
It has very clean and big room.
Very friendly and efficiently run hotel. Loved the breakfast. Great bar staff. Easy to navigate into town down the river.
pleasant - we didn't use the ground floor bar/restaurant facilities - some food shops nearby - a long walk to the beach riverside stroll or there are regular buses

Spent two nights here with my family. The views were incredible. Front desk staff was very welcoming. We had incredible 70-75 degree weather but there’s no AC, so the room was very warm and uncomfortable to sleep in. We needed a 3 person room and when we arrived the third bed wasn’t made. There’s no coffee available until 11 AM, so unless you include breakfast in your reservation there’s nothing for...
Pros: - Friendly service (when you can get served). - Amazing location. Great views. - Food was great. Cons: - The staff refused to change the duvet when a crusty white stain was very obviously on top and they claimed it was "normal wear and tear". In the end, we had to ask them to just remove it. - Service was slow. It was very difficult to get served at the bar or reception. - Staff were incompetent...
The hotel doesn't live up to its expectations for the high prices charged. Early check in wasn’t available as an option. Breakfast could be improved in many ways by having warm plates, and heating for the warm food. Limited options available. Juices were not cold. Other hotel guests were smoking on their balcony and we could smell the smoke coming into our room when we were enjoying the view from our...
Facilities: Inadequate... No hot water in the morning Service: Poor! No waiter to carry luggage
Excellent hotel with incredible views. Very good cuisine. Ideal for a rest after walking through the bustling center. With a wonderful lobby with comfortable sofas and spectacular views. A 10! Excellent location.
Everything was perfect. The hotel is a bit old and maybe doesn't deserve 4 stars. But we know that in Spain hotel stars are a bit more overrated than in France. The only problem is that one room wasn't ready when we arrived because our request for a large bed for the 2 rooms had not been taken into account. But nothing serious, our request was satisfied later. But for a 4 star... The setting is idyllic...

Great value for money - welcome drink on arrival for loyalty members (free registration on their website) and rooms have everything you need and location is about a 15 minute walk to the beach/main attractions. Not a huge breakfast menu, but good for eggs, yoghurt, orange juice. Very friendly staff tips the scales for this hotel!
Hotel, rooms and service are all excellent. Our room was clean, and quiet. The staff at the bar were nice, we enjoyed grabbing drinks from the bar and bringing them to the hotel lounge to a relaxed, comfortable space. Nice location quiet area but with the old town, both beaches bus station and everything you need within walking distance lovely staff at the reception and hardworking cleaners highly recommend you buy the breakfast with lots of food and the most pleasant and friendly staff rooms and gym are on the smaller side however the bathroom are spacious and modern. Would stay again
It's a little far from the old town, but you can walk or take a bus. The Basque train station is nearby, so it's convenient for going to the French Basque Country. There are shops and bakeries where you can buy fruit and drinks within a few minutes' walk. The room was compact, but the bathroom was clean and comfortable.

Excellent location. Short walk into old town with great roof top bar. Give two complimentary drinks on check in. Perfect to take in sunset.
Reception Marcus's service was very good. The location is also very good. The breakfast was average, no CAVA. The two waiters at the bar, especially the girl, were very good. The girl was like a character in Rembrandt's painting, sincere and kind. Will definitely come back.

This is a nice hotel and staff are friendly. The corner room I was in was a little pokey with dine idiosyncrasies - for example the TV was on an angle so you couldn’t watch it from the bed. It is exellenly located near to town though and I slept very well.
This hotel is adults only, which is great! There should be more like it. The location is fine, it’s in a quiet street, which feels far out the city, but it’s actually around the corner from the shops and cathedral and the beach. It’s about 20 mins walk from the old town, though. The hotel has a trendy feel and is very ************ and inclusive, which is fantastic. However the rooms are really small...

Great value for money, and the decor is quite nice too. While it's a bit far from the old town, getting to the boulevard by bus is very convenient. San Sebastián doesn't have ride-sharing apps like Uber, so if you need a taxi, you'll have to ask the front desk to call one for you.
Nice and clean room for 3. The room with the terrace is perfect for sunset. It’s easy to the beach in walking a short distance.
Very happy overall. Hotel ILUNION was our home for our 11 night exploration of San Sebastián. The location was perfect. Easiest check in and check out I've ever experienced. Advance check in was worth it. It made the process incredibly efficient and straight-forward. The hotel is very well located and the beach was very close nearby so the kids were delighted. Hotel is spotless with very pleasant staff.
I loved this hotel. It's extremely clean, comfortable, and we felt extremely safe in the surrounding neighborhood. The room is very stylish and has a beautiful viewing platform. It's nice to sit there and drink a cup of coffee in the morning, which is refreshing!
The hotel is in the suburbs. A bit remote. It's not very convenient to go to the supermarket. But the hotel has its own restaurant and bar. beautiful place cheap price a little smelly from the bathroom
I booked this hotel because it was in a quiet location , the room had double glazed windows that allowed me to sleep soundly for more than 8 hours each night and I could reach the city easily by taking the bus. FYI the taxi fares from and to the San Sebastian airport was 90€ in total, which the hotel has no say on or any other hotels for that matter.
