Hotel Maria Cristina, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Sebastian, San Sebastian1 / 50

San Sebastian, Paseo República Argentina, 4 🧭 Map
I really like the hotel and enjoy everything except that there was no toilet amenity and when we asked for it, staff came to bring us… but quite stingy… 2 ladies for 1 tooth paste. Common, the rate is over 1000 Euro a night … it is not cheap guest house. (The hotel even charge nearly 50 Euro for parking, so you understand what I mean and I am Bonvoy member). Beside that incident, I like everything...
Our stay at Maria Cristina in San Sebastián was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel's location is unbeatable, nestled in the heart of the city with easy access to the beautiful beaches and vibrant old town. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable; the staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. The food at the hotel was outstanding...
Within walking distance of many shops and restaurants. So close to the beach. You can use their bikes to explore this beautiful city. Concierge is super helpful for restaurant reservations and advice. Beautiful rooms! Amazing breakfast.
The service from the moment we stepped into the lobby was incredible. Our room was beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious and I loved that you could order additional items aside from the buffet. We loved our stay here and hope to be back some day!
We came to Hotel Maria Cristina for our honeymoon. Overall, the experience was fantastic. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Also in a perfect location - right next to the old town, very walkable to all parts of the city. The staff was really friendly and went WAY above and beyond to make our stay special. I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting San Sebastián!
I loved everything about this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, all the hotel has a very elegant aesthetic. It is located in the best part of San Sebastián, near the most popular area for shopping, eating and walking. I had breakfast and it was amazing.

Amazing experience from the moment we arrived, having champagne outside on the deck to the amazing lunch, service was very attentive and not overly done. We got a look and tour of the kitchen and met the chef himself. Cocktails later that evening made the day complete.
Fenomenal experience from beginning to end. The quality and presentation of food outstanding. The explanations and overall service great. Enjoyed discovering some new wines thanks to the sommelier. Worth every star!
The newly renovated hotel and restaurant are absolutely stunning. However, the lack of atmosphere was noticeable, as the restaurant was less than a third full for lunch, even at the end of July. We dined here eight years ago and were blown away by the food. While the dishes are still good, they didn’t quite deliver the WOW factor expected at this price point. It’s still worth a visit, but with so...
One of a kind experiences ever, really mind blowing menu. Really feels like something straight out of a movie. The ambience gives this mysterious energy which makes the experience even more daunting. Amazing venue as well, everything is truly remarkable.
A dream come true, to eat in Akelarra.

Good hotel efficient friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Great location for the beach and local cafés
A very unimpressive stay. The hotel is decently located, with a bus stop in front and about a 15 minutes walk away from the beach. The rooms can be a bit cramped depending on which one you are allocated and they need some TLC. My sink stopper wouldn’t let the water drain, the night light didn’t work, the iron didn’t work. The sliding door to the bathroom is inconvenient. Water pressure is not great...
Nice hotel . We had a dinner here - the meal was good- the salad was wonderful! It’s a little far from the downtown/restaurant. However, the walk along the beach was fantastic!
Looking forward to staying here again. Very quiet area! Short walk to the beach, shops & restaurants. Staff was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
San Sebastian itself is THE City. The Hotel is nice and offers A Garage to safe your Car. The Price is a little to high for my taste, and I could not try the spa and benefits of the Hotel. We were just there for one night on our way to Portugal. The beds were good and two free waters were offered.
Good hotel with a decent location. Just a word of warning - its on a hill so if you plan on walking in San sebastian with a full belly - you may need a taxi 😂

Great value for money - welcome drink on arrival for loyalty members (free registration on their website) and rooms have everything you need and location is about a 15 minute walk to the beach/main attractions. Not a huge breakfast menu, but good for eggs, yoghurt, orange juice. Very friendly staff tips the scales for this hotel!
Hotel, rooms and service are all excellent. Our room was clean, and quiet. The staff at the bar were nice, we enjoyed grabbing drinks from the bar and bringing them to the hotel lounge to a relaxed, comfortable space. We walked from the hotel to everywhere, old town, the beach, train station, etc... but the distance might be a long walk for some. The hotel is on a major bus route, so it would be...
Nice location quiet area but with the old town, both beaches bus station and everything you need within walking distance lovely staff at the reception and hardworking cleaners highly recommend you buy the breakfast with lots of food and the most pleasant and friendly staff rooms and gym are on the smaller side however the bathroom are spacious and modern. Would stay again
Great location, quiet, comfortable and contemporary room. A suggestion for a 5 star review - leave some tea bags and not just coffee in the rooms. Not everyone is an espresso coffee drinker. Lovely reading room. Restaurant lighting could be more subtle to enhance ambience.
Pleasant stay for a couple of nights. Nice quiet area away from crowds in the old town. Too far to walk (for us at least) to old town but there was a convenient taxi stand right around the corner from hotel and for just about 7 euros you're there! Bed was a bit hard but that's a matter of taste. Great bathroom with rain shower. Would stay again.
Fabulous rooms, welcoming atmosphere. Could have more options in the restaurant but still not too bad.

Great location near beach. About 800m to old town. Nice rooms. No exhaust fan in bathroom otherwise no other complaints.
Very expensive for what it was. The room was stifling .I asked please could someone look at the air con as I didn't think it was working. However I was told they didn't have air con in November as they classed it as winter .I explained how hot it was in there. They suggested opening the window. The noise was terrible. They did give me a fan. Which didn't really help. The layout of the bathroom was...
Hotel is well located, clean, efficient, good views, good staff, all was well but lacks amenities and open spaces
Modern hotel conveniently located about a block from the middle of the beach promenade. About a 10-15 minute walk from the train station.
The location is perfect. Right across the street from the beach. However this certainly adds to the price. We were traveling all over Spain and this was the most expensive place and certainly not the nicest. It was also under some renovations so the main entrance was not usable and we had to enter through a side area that was a construction zone. There was no parking anywhere to unload our luggage...

It's my first time to write a review and we would like to thank you all. Your room was super clean, modern, and comfortable. It was easy to go to all the lovely restaurants from this hotel. The service at the hotel was 10 stars!!!! The staff was very nice and very professional! We had an air conditioning the best recommendations to our stay and would highly recommend the place!
Loved it. It is in a nice town has nice rooms and has a really nice restaurant. At check in they give you a map and mark all the best spots and activities. Ps free parking.
We recently stayed at Bidaia Boutique hotel and had a mixed experience. The hotel is clean, spacious, and very well located, even if a bit noisy for light sleepers. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, we encountered bed bugs in our room, which was quite distressing. The staff handled the situation excellently—professional, responsive, and empathetic. Despite this, we chose to...
Cute hotel with spacious rooms and Japanese style bidet toilet- yaaaas. Really enjoyed chilling on our terrace. Short walk to old town. Thanks to Telmo's (super friendly guy who checked us in) many delicious food recommendations, I think we gained 10lbs in 2 days. P.S. Google Maps walking directions from the bus station had us walk up 2 hills unnecessarily and had us end up on the wrong side of the...
The highlight of this hotel is its concierge services. The rooms are very nice with a modernistic feel that somehow exudes a more traditional ambiance and warmth. Very quiet and comfortable. The stay was nice. I'd have to say that the Hotel could benefit from some additional services. It's hard to imagine that in this day and age, there isn't a single vending machine. I was unable to find coffee until the next morning, which is pretty upsetting for caffeine addicts such as myself. The facilities are all new, the rooms were pretty clean and the Parking was convenient.
I really enjoyed staying here. The staff are toooooo nice, great hospitality. Thanks so much for doing a great job.
We came in at three o clock in the night. They provided is with a room, diner, and free drinks. Very nice.
Nice hotel next to the riverfront of Donostia.. it was also at reasonable cost. Can walk through the riverside.
This is a nice hotel for the price, we had a good experience there. The staff are really friendly and they have good buffet for the price they charge. The location of the hotel is pretty good too. The rooms and views are amazing, however if you want to explore San Sebastian it can be a way out being at the top of a hill. The service at the hotel can be a problem as there is simply not enough staff, which creates...
Exceptional views and getting fireworks was a plus. The hotel needs a lot more staff. The food is very basic and needs improvements, we arrived early afternoon and told no we couldn’t go the the main restaurant despite having 10 mins to order….. we were not told we could have gone to the roof for a basic snack at the pool after a 6 hour drive!! The hotel is in a wonderful location. This is a huge advantage, but getting into the old part of the city from here is not so easy (funicular only until 8 p.m.). Luckily the taxi is only 10 EUR back. Very friendly staff! Room was good for 3 people and a dog. I didn't walk around but my parents did and they liked the area Parking area right next to the hotel. Thank God. (I have trauma from the last hotel I was in Spain)
Really good hotel. Close to a bus stop which takes you into town but easy to walk within 20/30 mins. Clean rooms which are modern and have all the facilities. Not the newest of hotels but feels well kept. High powered showers which is always a win!
The hotel is a little tired and needs some refurbishment. There is no bar or restaurant and the hotel is in a beautiful residential area but quite a distance from the nearest bar or restaurant. The staff (two receptionist) that I met were extremely helpful and courteous. Plenty soft parking spaces.
Rooms - a bit dated, but very well cleaned every day. Had a huge TV in the room. Receptionists polite and with decent knowledge of English. I've seen how helpful, polite and patient they were with some quite rude guests. Breakfast - ok, same every morning, with a very polite and always smiling waitress. Very happy with this hotel. Clean, comfortable & affordable rooms. Great breakfast and a short walk to all that San Sebastian has to offer. Highly recommended.
Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. My room was spotless but showed signs of wear and tear and the furniture was a bit aged. The bed was comfortable but a bit too soft for me. Very high quality hotel, located a little ways away, but San Sebastian is the city is small and it is not critical. Breakfast is modest (but you're in San Sebastian, pintxos Breakfast in the centre of it that is necessary), the sound insulation is excellent.
The room as well as the services were very nice (the staff was super kind) but the atmosphere in the room was stuffy, the freeway beneath was busy and noisy (so we couldn't keep a window open) and thus we couldn't sleep!

Great hotel in the beautiful neighbourhood of Onderetta. The rooms are much larger than you get in the Old Town and the bathroom was fantastic, with a great power shower. We booked our trip last minute in high season with this great hotel in a perfect location. Everything was completely booked out and the only reason we got so lucky to have a spot, was because of the persistent help Juan gave us to find a solution. We took therefore an air matrass for our child, but at the end we got our desired king bed with an extra bed for our child.
5-10 min walk to San Sebastian beech. Good breakfast and clean but only shower and no bath tub. Close to local super market. Need to go outside once to go fitness gym.

A lovely hotel in a quiet neighbourhood - quite far walk from the old town but if you are up for a hefty exercise this is fine. There are a good decent amount of restaurants and cafes nearby. I had an amazing time at this hotel. The service was great. The concierge was helpful with exploring ideas, dinner reservations, and a very early morning taxi booking. My room along the water was beautiful and so comfortable.

The housekeeper (I think Francis) turned them in to Nuria at front desk and they forwarded them to me in Madrid. What fabulous service.
