Spent two nights here with my family. The views were incredible. Front desk staff was very welcoming. We had incredible 70-75 degree weather but there’s no AC, so the room was very warm and uncomfortable to sleep in.
We needed a 3 person room and when we arrived the third bed wasn’t made.
There’s no coffee available until 11 AM, so unless you include breakfast in your reservation there’s nothing for you to drink or eat until you go down to San Sebastián.
Given the amazing views we decided to spend the evening in the hotel, but the drinks were not very good and overpriced.
Overall I think this hotel has some breath taking views and I wish there was better staffing and dining/refreshment offers.

Our 3rd stay here but unfortunately probably our last. The privilege room was ok but the bathroom was dated and several attachments loose. It needed updating. The worse was the lack of staff, especially at the bar, us plus several other people had to wait over 20 minutes to be served one evening and one lunchtime waited over an hour for food. There are no staff there and no way of finding anyone, the reception weren’t interested and did not help, just rudely saying ‘they were not the bar staff’! Not good enough for a supposed 4 star hotel.

- The staff refused to change the duvet when a crusty white stain was very obviously on top and they claimed it was "normal wear and tear". In the end, we had to ask them to just remove it.
- Service was slow. It was very difficult to get served at the bar or reception.
- Staff were incompetent at taking orders and there were often missing things.

Be careful, the photos they advertise of the balcony can be misleading. We paid for a privilege room that showed the view from the balcony, but what we got was a view of the roof of the dining area. Kind of a big bummer when you spend the time and money finding a place. We brought this up, but they were not really interested in the feedback.

The hotel doesn't live up to its expectations for the high prices charged. Early check in wasn’t available as an option. Breakfast could be improved in many ways by having warm plates, and heating for the warm food. Limited options available. Juices were not cold. Other hotel guests were smoking on their balcony and we could smell the smoke coming into our room when we were enjoying the view from our balcony.

Excellent hotel with incredible views. Very good cuisine. Ideal for a rest after walking through the bustling center. With a wonderful lobby with comfortable sofas and spectacular views. A 10! Excellent location.

How did this hotel get 4 stars ?
Honestly everything rests on the view which is absolutely beautiful. The reception is not worth 4 stars. The room is not very clean and pretty ugly, very simple, only 2 bottles of water and not even toothpaste. After 10pm, it is impossible to join reception, no one answers. We paid for a room with sea view and had to choose between separate beds and a sea view or a double bed and a parking view. It is very noisy, we could hear neighbors all night and in the morning.
Not a word when you leave the hotel, just a goodbye and a thank you nothing more.

Everything was perfect. The hotel is a bit old and maybe doesn't deserve 4 stars. But we know that in Spain hotel stars are a bit more overrated than in France.
The only problem is that one room wasn't ready when we arrived because our request for a large bed for the 2 rooms had not been taken into account. But nothing serious, our request was satisfied later. But for a 4 star...

Room has comfortable bed and great views and that's about it. WiFi is slow (2 bars on second floor), TV remote has Netflix button but no Netflix, room phone doesnt work, has dial tone but buttons dont do anything - have to call with private mobile to speak with reception. Staff don't speak English, not even a little bit to converse basic info (like booking a table), location is terrible - need to drive or taxi to city in the evening as the funicular stops at 7 pm. Car park is "guaranteed" but significantly limited and receptionists advise to not drive out of car park as likely won't be able to find a park upon returning. Honestly shocked that this is a 4 star hotel. The welcome was cold and poor - no door man or anyone to assist with luggage. Very disappointed and wished we knew better. Our experience has significantly affected our time in San Sebastian.
