The Barcelo Costa Vasca is an urban hotel in San Sebastian 550 m from Ondarreta beach and the famous Peine del Viento sculpture by Eduardo Chillida. It is connected with the city centre by the magnificent La Concha beach promenade.The hotels 203 rooms offer different capacities and facilities and are notable for their cutting-edge design. Modern and comfortable they have been fully equipped to the highest level and designed to offer guests maximum comfort during their stay.The hotel has private parking a Lobby Bar and a restaurant offering a carefully designed menu with local produce. Modern stylish hotel with very clean and comfortable rooms.Staff were efficient and helpful,facilities were impressive especially the gym.

Large hotel, about 5 minutes walk to the beach, 20 minutes to shopping area. Large underground parking with plenty of e,ectric charging bays. Reception large with bar and restaurant and three staff seemed to be on duty. Room pleasant and clean/tidy with all you may need including a decent outside balcony with table/chairs. Good power shower and well equipped bathroom. Not the hotels fault, but I just don't understand how guests can scuff walls five feet high!!!

I had the best experience corresponding with Manuel. As soon as I entered the hotel he made me feel welcome, valued, and comfortable. His service was exceptional as he genuinely cares for his guests. Thank you for making my time in San Sebastián so amazing!!

New hotel very clean nice rooms and wonderful pool. 
It’s 25 min walk to the Centro but there is a bus for two euro and tax 9 euro, in the evening it’s hard te get a taxi and find the bus. WE had to walk back twice. 
The door locks make a very hard nice which awakes you in the morning

The hotel was a bit disorganized. I booked a room for my partner and I anniversary. I booked the additional package element of a bouquet of flowers. I followed up with an email request to have them in the room on arrival with a little handwritten note for which I gave the message text. Received confirmation from the hotel that this was fine. Sent a quick email again the week before arrival just to confirm. They responded that it was all fine. We arrived, checked in, no flowers in the room. I went down see if there had been a problem, and was told there had been some mix up. No apologies given, but that they could rearrange. I arranged to have them in the room later that night when we returned from a meal. Got back to the room, the bouquet was in the room but they forgot the note this time. Quality of the bouquet was also pretty poor and not fit for purpose (romantic). No apologies at any point. Quite dissapointed at execution on this simple task for a 4 star facility. my partner enjoyed the hotel, but this blunder at the beginning soured the whole experience for me.

The stay itself was fine. The location is a 10 minute walk to a beach, but was probably a bit too far away from local convenience (shops, bars). Felt a bit isolated.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is immaculately clean and in a good location very close to the beach. Despite reception being busy when we arrived, and dealing with new computer systems, the staff greeted us warmly and we felt very welcome. There was a selection of complimentary sparkling wine, fresh orange juice, water and some fruit and sweets to sample while you wait which was a lovely touch. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Breakfast selection was of a great choice and quality. We had live music in the bar while we had a drink before walking into town. There is excellent onsite parking which we used. We also took advantage of the discounted gym and hydro spa access for hotel guests. The gym was incredible. I would happily return to this hotel.

The initial impression of the public areas is very good, although maybe a trifle corporate in style, and there is excellent underground parking available at additional cost. We booked a superior room for the extra space, and were allocated a pleasant balcony room on the second floor. However, we initially failed to notice the hotel's Plant-room immediately below us, which ran throughout the night. Our request the next morning for a room change was quickly and efficiently handled but the new room on the sixth floor was not of the same standard. Small and scruffy, and certainly not up to a "Superior" classification.  En-suite facilities comprised a separate WC, with the washbasin open to the room and a rather dated single shower with a tendency to flood. Tea & coffee making facilities are provided, but no milk, despite the presence of a minibar fridge with the ubiquitous Toblerone!
The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have experienced and covers almost every conceivable taste. The only downside is a canteen-like ambience, which can quickly become noisy and crowded.
The hotel is a pleasant enough walk of around 30 mins to the town centre, or there is a service bus-stop immediately outside. The hotel appears to share its pool facilities etc. with a Health Club in the basement and these seemed modern and high quality, but we did not use them personally.

We stayed here a few years ago and were happy to book a return visit but ended up being disappointed overall. It has the feel of a corporate asset, being worked by robotic rather than caring staff, to maximise profits, which missed being a friendly place to spend a holiday. Regretfully, I doubt that we will be making a return visit.

The hotel is located about 3km from the old town however, there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel to the old town. The hotel has a wonderful pool onsite and the beach is approximately 10 mins walk away. Rooms, staff and location are excellent. An added benefit is the large underground car park for cars and motorbikes. We parked our bikes near the hotel reception.
