Hotel Palacio del Mar in Santander

Friendly and helpful staff, rooms were clean and spacious, cafe was nice

This property is at the edge of town, but if you have a car and want less hassle with parking and crowds, stay here. The staff is very nice, and they have a popular bar and cafeteria, even at the edge of town

Good hotel. Very large room.

Stayed here for one night prior to getting the ferry back to the UK.
From the outside the hotel looks like a concrete monstrosity built in the 1960's or 1970's. However, it is totally different on the inside, being very spacious and modern, especially the rooms.
Reasonably quick and friendly check in. Large and secure underground parking is available for €15 a night, however I was advised by a local lady that there was free on street parking all around the area of the hotel.
Modern room with a large comfortable double bed and a walk in shower and also a small balcony area. A TV, fridge and a safe were also in the room.
The area around the hotel is largely residential buildings. A short walk away is a seafront beach area which was very scenic and popular with locals. This is a great location to get a drink or a meal.
Literally across the road from the hotel is the home ground of Real Racing Club Santander,  so it will be pretty busy in the immediate area on match days.
All in all I would be happy to stay here again.

Comfortable big room, quiet and helpful staff.

Like the large rooms. Very good breakfasts. Free use of swimming pool next door. Beach and supermarkets nearby. Very easy to get into Santander on numerous buses. Paseo al Cabo Mayor affords lovely views of the Sardinero beach.

The person at the front desk assisted me to obtaine medication I left at my previous hotel stay. She coordinated the delivery to me of the medication. Well beyond her responsibilities.

I stayed in Hotel Palacio del Mar for a couple of nights on a work trip to Santander. Over the service was good, the rooms were huge for what we paid and the location near the beach and the university was convenient. The breakfast was decent, but nothing special. The rooms did feel a bit dilapidated and one of my sheets was not very clean, so some renovations and improved cleaning would be welcome, but overall the experience was good.

An unbeatable situation. Reception and restaurant staff with refined treatment. Good breakfast and dinner. I'll be back without a doubt.
