Silken Rio Santander

Stayed here in July. Hotel has a fantastic location on the front and there was an amazing sea view from our room. However, on returning to the room on the 2nd day we had no cups or satchets of coffee/milk for the morning. When I went to reception to get some I was told that coffee etc was only complimentary on the first night - surely even 2 star hotels supply free satchets of coffee/tea etc! In the bathroom water built up in both the sink and shower if the water was running and it was slow to drain away, there must have been some sort of partial blockage in the pipework. Service in the bar/cafe area downstairs was very slow because there was only one member of staff at front of house and she had to act as bar person, waitress, table clearer and general dogsbody! We gave up waiting to be served on a couple of occasions and went elsewhere, I felt quite sorry for her. We had a hire car and reception told us there was plenty of free parking in the roads around and about the hotel. This was true but it was often impossible to find an empty space. On several occasions we returned to the hotel and could not park, we just had to go away again and return later or drive around the block a few times until a space became available.

Love this place. We got here around 9.30-10 am after an overnight flight. Super tired with no sleep. Check-in time is 3pm. Staff (Gina & the other girl) was so accommodating and found us a room for us to check in earlier. The location is amazing with the beach and water views. We parked our rental car right in front for free. There's a casino next door. Great breakfast. Few KM's away from the center. Highly recommend it.
Best part is the towels and the water pressure ( 😆)

Lovely hotel, located right across the street from the beach. Many restaurants close by. Great walkway for miles along the ocean. Excellent breakfast in the morning. Parking is hard though.

Very nice room with sea view. Location is very good, beach and lots of restaurants at walking distance. The room was big and the bathroom and the towels were great. When you are in a long vacation going from hotel to hotel you valued small things like big new towels. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was also ok.

There are many wonderful things about the Hotel Silken Rio Santander. The views out the ocean side of the hotel are stunning. It's literally across the street. It's clean, comfortable, and quiet. Be aware -- the hotel can sway a little in the wind. My room was initially on the 5th floor, but I was getting dizzy from the tiny movements, so I asked to move to a lower floor, and they were very gracious about it. No one else in my group had that problem, so they all stayed on the 5th floor and loved it.

The only downside is that the restaurant staff didn't seem to like us, because they ignored us. We always ate out after our first night. It wasn't that big of a deal.

Overall, a great experience.

Very beautiful room, - our room was in the dome on the top floor - was very spacious, clean and loved all the Ritual Products provided, a nice touch! Amazing view overlooking the beach, with a 30 minute walk to all the restaurants and bars towards the town.

This hotel ticks all the boxes, plus more than expected. We received an upgrade to a deluxe room with spectacular panoramic sea views. The room itself was clean, modern, and spacious with a big screen TV, two comfortable couches, and a comfortable chair ideal for reading or simply gazing at the spectacular view. The staff of the hotel are extremely friendly. I would highly recommend the buffet breakfast!

Great hotel located on the seafront. Staff are friendly and efficient. Cafetería was very good and offered drinks all day and food at other times. The weather was poor when we were there so the good service was much appreciated.
Only two devices allowed to use the Internet at a time, seems a bit out of date in these times of high technology.

Lovely hotel, great Seaview, courteous service, polite professional, very clean, modern. Great cafes and drinks. Great location, can walk to nearby places or get an uber. Near airport and museum.
