I stayed here in September 2024. This hotel is extremely convenient to the train station and metro subway - just across the street. Emilie at the desk checked me in and was lovely and very friendly. The room had a nice view of Marseille, the sea, and Basilica. I was given a top floor room by the elevator. The room was clean, furnishings were decent, but I felt like the carpet was due for a change....

Great hotel. We arrived at 3 pm and the front desk manager was very friendly. Recognised my platinum status and offered late check-out which we took. The parking is easy and not too expensive. The room was great and comfortable. The breakfast was surprisingly good 👍. For an inclusive breakfast it was the best in a while. Overall I cannot share any bad experience and will book the HIX in Marseille again

As a budget hotel, the environment is OK, the facilities are a bit old, the service is not good, they call you to check out before the check-out time, and after you check out and take your belongings away, you have to take a taxi back to the hotel room to get your things, and it seems that the room has not been cleaned.

Perfect, clean and very pretty hotel, very friendly staff

The main thing is that the hotel is in a good location, in the city center, and the front desk service is very good. I used to stay in the Ibis next to the train station for convenience, but that one is much worse than this one. I will stay here again next time I come.

The front desk staffs are nice and helpful. A bit disappointed as the only one water dispenser was out of order and we need to ask the staff at the bar to take water instead.

The slamming of doors is infernal. In the evening or morning, you can't expect to be quiet. Also, overall, it's expensive for the size of the rooms. The staff is excellent.

The room is simpler than the average ibis. There is no sofa or wardrobe, only a movable table and a small chair. It is located in the city and has easy access to the port. Parking costs 15 euros which is quite cheap. However, parking is an elevator-type way to enter the parking lot, so be very careful when driving.

This hotel has an absolutely amazing breakfast, it was included with the price we paid for our three nights of stay but one can pay ten euros per person per day for it. This place had a bad smell in the buildings halls and main areas, thankfylly the room was ok. The room was small and had no extras, it had the bed and bathroom all clean. Je suis de retour après 2 ou 3 ans environ dans cet hôtel IBIS 3*** et, hélas, rien n'a changé ! Nous avons été très bien reçu dans cet hôtel du centre-ville près du vieux port. Les chambres sont en bon état, tout le personnel est très poli. Le petit déjeuner est très copieux et très bon !! L’établissement est bien situé sur le vieux port, proche des restaurants et animations. Merci.

I visited this hotel in July 2023. The location was perfect with the metro station and tram next to it. It also has many places to eat around! (My favorite one was Wok Udon) I was scared of staying here because of some scary reviews, but nothing bad at all! It was wonderful. Unfortunately, the metro was being remodeled so I only had access to one direction of the metro, instead of both directions...

Vertigo hostel is not like any any posh hostel like generators or St. Christopher Inn. But that doesn't mean it's not good. Good location close to the train station and short walk to the centre of town (harbour and shops) as well as in between attractions such as the Notre Dam and fountain. Good for a hostel. Right across the street from the train station. The area isn't the best, but once you get away from the train station it isn't too bad. The bathrooms were clean and showers had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast is 5 euros. Drinks are for sale at the bar. Smoke sometimes drifts into the bedrooms and common area which can be annoying. No major complaints.

Great value for money with easy access to the best touristic areas of Marseille (the Old Port, the historic town, the best churches, ..), but granting walking distance to the museum, the shopping area, etc). Nicely decorated quiet rooms, comfortable beds, well located, kind staff. Stayed here for one night with my daughter during a quick trip to Marseille. Special mention for bagage check which kept our stuff safe and sound while we went the next day, at no extra charge.

Amazing restaurant with magnificent sunset views. The bouillabaisse is very traditional and tasted splendid. The fish was really fresh and the croutons with aioli so good! Service was good and they came to top up my dish with hot soup three times. A fantastic experience.

The restaurant is nice, service was partially very good and partially not according to the price level. We had starters and second course (bouillabaisse) which was far too much and also for the kids. Conveniently located vis-a-vis Gare Charles Michel, the Alex has tiny but modern and comfortable rooms with balcony. Beds could have better mattresses, though. Staff is polite and professional. The surroundings are not ideal for dining, this is a Maghreb neighborhood where you will find few women on the street at night. However, a Metro station is right in front of the hotel.

The Alex Hotel was a great stop for a quick overnight stay in Marseille. It is so convienent to the train station (literally across the street). The staff were very warm and accommodating to us after a long day of travel. American travelers may find the rooms a bit tight but it was comfortable, clean, and cozy.

We loved our stay at this clean and convenient boutique hotel. Staff was helpful and the continental breakfast was just what we needed before we left for our flight. We liked the modern design and location near the train station.

The desk staff were most welcoming, friendly, and helpful which set a very comfortable tone for our two night stay. As we were very tired upon arrival, we chose to eat dinner in the main section of the hotel complex and we’re very happy we did as the food was delicious.

I stayed at Le Drip's for only two days with my daughter during a (very) short trip to France. The hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was perfect - spacious and cool, with great decor. I would definitely recommend a meal in the restaurant too, the food was delicious and the setting was lovely.

The location is very good, next to Marseille Cathedral. Not far from the cathedral is the old town, the Euro-Mediterranean Museum and the old port, which are all within walking distance. The subway and bus are very convenient to the train station and other attractions. The room is clean and tidy, without any odor, the bath water is also good, and the breakfast is simple without vegetables.

Generally speaking it's OK. There is a Chinese restaurant 600 meters away from the hotel and there is also one near the supermarket!

I found myself just looking around and smiling at how clever the whole place is. We stayed at this hotel because we love the building. We had deluxe double room with sea view. The room and the bathroom are very big. The price is high for what you get in terms of the room (old and dated) but the building and the access to the roof are wonderful. At first, Everyone should keep in mind when you stay here that this is historical place from 1952. so some points maybe unusual compared with our current experience for hotel. Especially noise. Your noise is easily to across a wall even you always care to minimize noise because of aged floor and doors(at least my room was). Great hotel for the price. Was a bit surprised by the cabin toilet which is very small but it had nice features as in a washing line and a Japanese bidet toilet. The AC was great, the beds were okay, the view was okay. This was perhaps one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I liked the location of the hotel, although the hotel is located practically at the train station, there was no noise. The location is very good, not far from the train station. The breakfast is OK. The two bartenders at the first floor bar are very friendly. It is near to the train station. However if we want to go back to the hotel from the old city area, we need to walk long stair. Also, the environment outside the hotel is little smelly which is like urine smell but maybe this is the smell of Marseilles

A very basic hotel for the sake of convenience. Literally next to the train station.

The hotel is not far from the town, there is free parking, the breakfast is average, the room has some odor, the front desk service is very enthusiastic, and the hotel also provides dinner service.

The room is very small, open two suitcases can not open, parking at the door is convenient, but no car wash faucet, a lot of sand and dust, it is difficult to get a seat back at night, remote, only a couple of restaurants nearby, closed very early, not very convenient

I was expecting more from Ibis brand, in terms of accommodation condition. Roomwas quite small, towels were worn out. Otherwise, personnel was nice and helpful, food in their restaurant was tasty

There are few options in this area and I guess this probably the best one. Location wise is good if you have a car.
