I stayed here in September 2024. This hotel is extremely convenient to the train station and metro subway - just across the street. Emilie at the desk checked me in and was lovely and very friendly. The room had a nice view of Marseille, the sea, and Basilica. I was given a top floor room by the elevator. The room was clean, furnishings were decent, but I felt like the carpet was due for a change....
Great hotel. We arrived at 3 pm and the front desk manager was very friendly. Recognised my platinum status and offered late check-out which we took. The parking is easy and not too expensive. The room was great and comfortable. The breakfast was surprisingly good 👍. For an inclusive breakfast it was the best in a while. Overall I cannot share any bad experience and will book the HIX in Marseille again
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Marseille - Saint Charles for a week in August 2012 and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to the Saint Charles train station, making it easy to explore Marseille and beyond. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with...
Completely OK, but no more. Noisy AC and quite a bit noise from the street with window closed (maybe to be expected from centre Marseille though). Very simple breakfast. Fine for a single day stay.
A perfect location to travel by train ! Good breakfast, kind staff and great room noise system- you don’t hear anything in the room !
Location is superb, directly opposite of the train station. There are rooms facing a courtyard but still at night there is a lot of noise. Staff at reception is super friendly! Breakfast has a wide variety of cereals, bread (with Nutella), eggs, fruits…

The floor is a bit dirty, but everything else is good, and the sound insulation is good
As a budget hotel, the environment is OK, the facilities are a bit old, the service is not good, they call you to check out before the check-out time, and after you check out and take your belongings away, you have to take a taxi back to the hotel room to get your things, and it seems that the room has not been cleaned.
The location is very convenient. There is a tram downstairs. It is not very far from the train station. The surrounding is also very safe. The hotel is very clean and cleaned every day. Some facilities are updated. It is very cost-effective during the peak tourist season👍🏻👍🏻
Perfect, clean and very pretty hotel, very friendly staff
The main thing is that the hotel is in a good location, in the city center, and the front desk service is very good. I used to stay in the Ibis next to the train station for convenience, but that one is much worse than this one. I will stay here again next time I come.
The front desk staffs are nice and helpful. A bit disappointed as the only one water dispenser was out of order and we need to ask the staff at the bar to take water instead.

The slamming of doors is infernal. In the evening or morning, you can't expect to be quiet. Also, overall, it's expensive for the size of the rooms. The staff is excellent.
The service was great, helpful and friendly
Everything went well, welcome, perfect
Perfect location with parking space for €15 per night
Good hotel. Central location. Comfortable room. Good value for money.
The room is simpler than the average ibis. There is no sofa or wardrobe, only a movable table and a small chair. It is located in the city and has easy access to the port. Parking costs 15 euros which is quite cheap. However, parking is an elevator-type way to enter the parking lot, so be very careful when driving.

This hotel has an absolutely amazing breakfast, it was included with the price we paid for our three nights of stay but one can pay ten euros per person per day for it. TOTALLY worth it, there were two hot food, we thought it was Continental Breakfast but there was so much food, we didn't even need to have lunch. There is this machine where you squeeze your own orange juice and it was FUN as you actually...
room was extremely small. corridors and elevators smell mold. just breakfast was good
Great place for stopover Professional and warm welcome, everything went smoothly, just like the check-out. Very high quality breakfast buffet with regional organic products, the lady at breakfast is very attentive and friendly, she is a gem and clearly deserves 5 stars in customer service, just like the young lady at my check-in. The only drawback: I was able to check into my room in the morning;...

Good hotel in a great location. Staff helpful and friendly. Excellent room.
This place had a bad smell in the buildings halls and main areas, thankfylly the room was ok. The room was small and had no extras, it had the bed and bathroom all clean. The buffet was not worth the cost, it had processed meat (2 kinds) cheese, breads, cearial yougart and eggs you boiled. Only stayed 1 night as it was to pungent. I would not stay long term.
Great location, great breakfast
The hotel is relatively old, but overall it is clean and the guy at the front desk is funny. The elevator is broken and cannot be used, and the spiral staircase is fascinating
Warm, professional staff, very good breakfast buffet, but advertised elevator was out of service.

Excellent location, good hard mattress. Friendly staff.
Cleanliness is very questionable. There is no glass or curtain in the shower cabin, so there is a flood when showering. The breakfast is very meager and the food is not replenished.
I visited this hotel in July 2023. The location was perfect with the metro station and tram next to it. It also has many places to eat around! (My favorite one was Wok Udon) I was scared of staying here because of some scary reviews, but nothing bad at all! It was wonderful. Unfortunately, the metro was being remodeled so I only had access to one direction of the metro, instead of both directions...
The hotel is okay. The people at reception were always there, they were polite and helpful. The hotel was full, but luckily it was not noisy. It can do better in general, there are some stains here and there but all in all, it was a good stay. Things work most of the time. The most annoying thing is the wifi where you have to log in every 5 min. A complicated log in, asking you all your data aaaand...
Very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet room. Breakfasts were very good with fresh fruit salad, selection of pastries and very good coffee. The gentleman who set out the breakfast gave us really good advice about trains etc. Hotel is well situated for access to public transport.
The hotel is very well located and allowed a walking distance to all the main attractions that we sought. It's also overall very clean and well maintained. However, there were noises due to ongoing construction works, sometimes in the morning which bothered a bit. Also for my last night, noise came out of my neighboring room; there was a couple that kept arguing from time to time. At one point a girl...

The staff are fantastic, knowledgeable and friendly and the facilities are great for a hostel too! I stayed in the large dorm room out the back, and there was plenty of toilets and bathrooms so I was never kept waiting - the beds were clean and comfortable enough 👍 It's also really easy to get to from the train station/bus terminus. Vertigo hostel is not like any any posh hostel like generators or St. Christopher Inn. But that doesn't mean it's not good. Gorgeous hostel, kept very clean. Good location close to the train station and short walk to the centre of town (harbour and shops) as well as in between attractions such as the Notre Dam and fountain. Good for a hostel. Right across the street from the train station. The area isn't the best, but once you get away from the train station it isn't too bad. The bathrooms were clean and showers had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast is 5 euros. Drinks are for sale at the bar. Smoke sometimes drifts into the bedrooms and common area which can be annoying. No major complaints.

Great value for money with easy access to the best touristic areas of Marseille (the Old Port, the historic town, the best churches, ..), but granting walking distance to the museum, the shopping area, etc). Friends staff, warm rooms, .. quite area with all the comfort at an affordable price. I recommend this hotel to visit the city!
Nicely decorated quiet rooms, comfortable beds, well located, kind staff. Stayed here for one night with my daughter during a quick trip to Marseille. Special mention for bagage check which kept our stuff safe and sound while we went the next day, at no extra charge.
My friend and I stayed here our last night in Marseille after having gone on a Zumba Cruise. We were very pleased with the hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. Cet hôtel est très bien situé - dans un bon quartier - pour visiter le centre ville de Marseille à pieds. Entièrement rénové, les chambres sont confortables et très propres. Very nice hotel, close to the center and there were some parking spots close to the hotel. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed the breakfast too. The room was very spacious and we had a nice view to the street. The room was very clean and it had everything we needed

We really enjoyed staying there, perfect for us as a couple, quiet and not too far away from the port or other activities. And the view can’t be beat!
Some say, "Le Rhul" is one of the few real places, where you can have a Bouillabaisse. In our case it was a hotel concierge and he was not wrong (I would like to believe). Very friendly staff at the restaurant. And I take this as "vive la experience!". It must come with the territory when you look for the iconic Bouillabaisse. Otherwise this place is so old-school, other dishes are so old-school. Am...
Amazing restaurant with magnificent sunset views. The bouillabaisse is very traditional and tasted splendid. The fish was really fresh and the croutons with aioli so good! Service was good and they came to top up my dish with hot soup three times. A fantastic experience.
The restaurant is nice, service was partially very good and partially not according to the price level. We had starters and second course (bouillabaisse) which was far too much and also for the kids. A small advice from the waiters could have been helpful. Food itself was good. Portions are huge. 2 adults and 3 kids ended up with 430 eur, which is a number where I expect everything has to be perfect
Very nice staff and breathtaking view if you choose a sea view room.

Conveniently located vis-a-vis Gare Charles Michel, the Alex has tiny but modern and comfortable rooms with balcony. Beds could have better mattresses, though. Staff is polite and professional. The surroundings are not ideal for dining, this is a Maghreb neighborhood where you will find few women on the street at night. However, a Metro station is right in front of the hotel.

Very clean and nicely appointed hotel conveniently located next to the Gare St Charles. Nice, simple rooms, new and clean with great sound proof windows and AC. Nice and clean room, friendly atmosphere and good service.
The desk staff were most welcoming, friendly, and helpful which set a very comfortable tone for our two night stay. As we were very tired upon arrival, we chose to eat dinner in the main section of the hotel complex and we’re very happy we did as the food was delicious.
Greater service, very clean and quiet! Restaurant on Sundays so it is just a heads up if you plan a dinner at the property. Highly recommend.

Great location, small corridors and hallways but adequate rooms.
Excellent value for money. Quiet and with a large, comfortable bed. Friendly reception staff.
The location is very good, next to Marseille Cathedral. Not far from the cathedral is the old town, the Euro-Mediterranean Museum and the old port, which are all within walking distance. The subway and bus are very convenient to the train station and other attractions. The room is clean and tidy, without any odor, the bath water is also good, and the breakfast is simple without vegetables.
Very noisy all night long. Only a few people in the hotel but they make us stay in nearby rooms so there's noise.
Generally speaking it's OK. There is a Chinese restaurant 600 meters away from the hotel and there is also one near the supermarket!
The cathedral is right outside the door, and the location is excellent. The hotel is small and exquisite, with a very high cost performance. The service staff is warm and thoughtful, the breakfast is delicious, the room is clean, and it is a very satisfactory stay experience!

I would rate the hotel with 4 stars. For me as an architect it definitely deserves 5 stars. It’s such an exceptional experience to get to stay there for two nights. Would recommend a lot to visit the roof and experience the space by hanging out there. But as for the hotel experience, it is a three star hotel, so don’t expect a lot just because it’s famous. I think they really wanted to keep as much...
Amazing place - what a privilege to be able to stay in one of Le Corbusier's finest buildings. I am not a Le Corbusier fanboy (although I do like him), but the whole place really is stunning. I found myself just looking around and smiling at how clever the whole place is. The room itself isn't luxury but they are constrained as to what they can do as this is how Le Corbusier designed the building!...
We stayed at this hotel because we love the building. We had deluxe double room with sea view. The room and the bathroom are very big. The price is high for what you get in terms of the room (old and dated) but the building and the access to the roof are wonderful. It was great to feel like you live in the building and to come to it multiple times, in the morning, in the night... Pro tip: Do not take...
Very basic by modern standards but informative to the architectural history. Nice and helpful staff.
At first, Everyone should keep in mind when you stay here that this is historical place from 1952. so some points maybe unusual compared with our current experience for hotel. Especially noise. Your noise is easily to across a wall even you always care to minimize noise because of aged floor and doors(at least my room was). You need time consideration when you do something in room. but if it's possible...

Great hotel for the price. Was a bit surprised by the cabin toilet which is very small but it had nice features as in a washing line and a Japanese bidet toilet.
