I stayed here in September 2024. This hotel is extremely convenient to the train station and metro subway - just across the street. Emilie at the desk checked me in and was lovely and very friendly. The room had a nice view of Marseille, the sea, and Basilica. I was given a top floor room by the elevator. The room was clean, furnishings were decent, but I felt like the carpet was due for a change....
Great hotel. We arrived at 3 pm and the front desk manager was very friendly. Recognised my platinum status and offered late check-out which we took. The parking is easy and not too expensive. The room was great and comfortable. The breakfast was surprisingly good 👍. For an inclusive breakfast it was the best in a while. Overall I cannot share any bad experience and will book the HIX in Marseille again
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Marseille - Saint Charles for a week in August 2012 and had a very pleasant experience. The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right next to the Saint Charles train station, making it easy to explore Marseille and beyond. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any requests. My room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with...
Completely OK, but no more. Noisy AC and quite a bit noise from the street with window closed (maybe to be expected from centre Marseille though). Very simple breakfast. Fine for a single day stay.
A perfect location to travel by train ! Good breakfast, kind staff and great room noise system- you don’t hear anything in the room !
Location is superb, directly opposite of the train station. There are rooms facing a courtyard but still at night there is a lot of noise. Staff at reception is super friendly! Breakfast has a wide variety of cereals, bread (with Nutella), eggs, fruits…

Good location. Right next to a tram stop and close to the old port and the mall of Les Terrasses du Port. Great service. Good value for money.
The floor is a bit dirty, but everything else is good, and the sound insulation is good
As a budget hotel, the environment is OK, the facilities are a bit old, the service is not good, they call you to check out before the check-out time, and after you check out and take your belongings away, you have to take a taxi back to the hotel room to get your things, and it seems that the room has not been cleaned.
The location is very convenient. There is a tram downstairs. It is not very far from the train station. The surrounding is also very safe. The hotel is very clean and cleaned every day. Some facilities are updated. It is very cost-effective during the peak tourist season👍🏻👍🏻
The main thing is that the hotel is in a good location, in the city center, and the front desk service is very good. I used to stay in the Ibis next to the train station for convenience, but that one is much worse than this one. I will stay here again next time I come.
The front desk staffs are nice and helpful. A bit disappointed as the only one water dispenser was out of order and we need to ask the staff at the bar to take water instead.

The slamming of doors is infernal. In the evening or morning, you can't expect to be quiet. Also, overall, it's expensive for the size of the rooms. The staff is excellent.
The service was great, helpful and friendly
Everything went well, welcome, perfect
Perfect location with parking space for €15 per night
Good hotel. Central location. Comfortable room. Good value for money.
The room is simpler than the average ibis. There is no sofa or wardrobe, only a movable table and a small chair. It is located in the city and has easy access to the port. Parking costs 15 euros which is quite cheap. However, parking is an elevator-type way to enter the parking lot, so be very careful when driving.

Great location, small corridors and hallways but adequate rooms.
Excellent value for money. Quiet and with a large, comfortable bed. Friendly reception staff.
The location is very good, next to Marseille Cathedral. Not far from the cathedral is the old town, the Euro-Mediterranean Museum and the old port, which are all within walking distance. The subway and bus are very convenient to the train station and other attractions. The room is clean and tidy, without any odor, the bath water is also good, and the breakfast is simple without vegetables.
Very noisy all night long. Only a few people in the hotel but they make us stay in nearby rooms so there's noise.
Generally speaking it's OK. There is a Chinese restaurant 600 meters away from the hotel and there is also one near the supermarket!
The cathedral is right outside the door, and the location is excellent. The hotel is small and exquisite, with a very high cost performance. The service staff is warm and thoughtful, the breakfast is delicious, the room is clean, and it is a very satisfactory stay experience!

This hotel has an absolutely amazing breakfast, it was included with the price we paid for our three nights of stay but one can pay ten euros per person per day for it. TOTALLY worth it, there were two hot food, we thought it was Continental Breakfast but there was so much food, we didn't even need to have lunch. There is this machine where you squeeze your own orange juice and it was FUN as you actually...
room was extremely small. corridors and elevators smell mold. just breakfast was good
Great place for stopover Professional and warm welcome, everything went smoothly, just like the check-out. Very high quality breakfast buffet with regional organic products, the lady at breakfast is very attentive and friendly, she is a gem and clearly deserves 5 stars in customer service, just like the young lady at my check-in. The only drawback: I was able to check into my room in the morning;...
From and to the rail station there is a very steep slope with dozens of steps.
Good hotel in a great location. Staff helpful and friendly. Excellent room.
This place had a bad smell in the buildings halls and main areas, thankfylly the room was ok. The room was small and had no extras, it had the bed and bathroom all clean. The buffet was not worth the cost, it had processed meat (2 kinds) cheese, breads, cearial yougart and eggs you boiled. Only stayed 1 night as it was to pungent. I would not stay long term. Great location, great breakfast
The hotel is relatively old, but overall it is clean and the guy at the front desk is funny. The elevator is broken and cannot be used, and the spiral staircase is fascinating
Warm, professional staff, very good breakfast buffet, but advertised elevator was out of service.
The hotel has a good cost, service, location, it is clean, a very good breakfast, super friendly staff, the Styles line is already a guarantee for me. The only problem that its excellent location means that you cannot enter a taxi or uber to the downtown area and you will have to walk at least two streets to get a taxi. I wish they had a safe box in the room.I would stay there again.
Well located, well refurbished and still improving. Very good value!
“Choose your room WISELY” If you're lucky you get a room that's decent. If not you might regret it. Some rooms are renovated, for example the room I was given in the front of the hotel. This was after I requested to change rooms because the first one I was given was ran down with a bad view of a ran down back alley area. Getting to your room is a challenge. The hotel setup is like a maze. You get off...

Amazing hotel! Lovely staff, clean and relaxing and with a wonderful street art aesthetic! We loved spending 6 nights here as a family
Amazing hotel. Great rooms, Very kind service Great design Great location, not far from the center but also in the green environment Fair prices
Very nice small hotel with friendly staff. Good price/ quality
I stayed at Le Drip's for only two days with my daughter during a (very) short trip to France. The hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was perfect - spacious and cool, with great decor. I would definitely recommend a meal in the restaurant too, the food was delicious and the setting was lovely.
Supermarket across the street, breakfast in the morning's, rooms are nice, not really any English TV channels.

the hotel was nice and the breakfast was fair. the room was also good. the best thing of this hotel was the girl on the reception desk, mrs Maria, who have us very important insights about the city.
They don't hold your luggage before check in or after check out - one of the main reasons we booked to stay in a hotel rather than an Airbnb as we had a late flight out.
Cheap and bare bones. Great for solo travelers or partners, no fridge in room with little ammenties in general but that's to be expected for the price. Very hot at night, weak air conditioner
You can walk to the seaside. It's conveniently located near the station. At night, you can hear people talking from the road in front of the hotel.
It's a bit remote, but fine. The rooms are average and very clean. The area is safe.
Great staff, not bad for a quick and cheap overnight stay.

While our room was clean and quiet, our standard room was small even by European standards. It felt like being in a train berth. A fold out shower in the bathroom made for an interesting experience. Very reasonable lodging rate, but for the money I’d consider other places. The surroundings could best be described as sketchy, although an advantage was that it is located near the main train station
For a 3 star hotel, overall average, very small room with very little soundproofing, shower overlooking a very dirty roof with opposite view so no ventilation through the windows, you must not be claustrophobic, do not take a room if it is on the 1st floor
First of all if using BOLT/UBER to get here, use the lication as 59 Rue des Dominicaines, OTHERWISE Hotel Massilia will give you a wrong kication and you will get charged extra by the driver. FAIR WARNING. I believe this hostel is excellent value. The continental breakfast is adequate - but iverpriced at 10.50€. Nice to have milk with the cereal (Corn Flakes??). Nice baguettes to slice. Some days...
Nice location but a bit dangerous at night. The street where it locates is dirty too but the hotel itself is clean.
Very conveniently located for Gare St Charles, about a five minute walk. 24 hour reception, so ideal for my late arrival. Decent room (with kettle and coffee/green tea) and a comfortable bed. Functional bathroom. Breakfast was okay, but not sure it was worth €10.50.
This hotel was ideal, for what I needed, arriving quite late at night and on my own : somewhere clean and comfortable near the railway station. The staff on Reception were always helpful. My room, on the 1st floor, was fine for single occupancy, but might have been rather small for a couple with luggage. It was great to have a kettle in the room, to make tea and coffee: this is uncommon in France,...

Great value for money with easy access to the best touristic areas of Marseille (the Old Port, the historic town, the best churches, ..), but granting walking distance to the museum, the shopping area, etc). Friends staff, warm rooms, .. quite area with all the comfort at an affordable price. I recommend this hotel to visit the city!
Nicely decorated quiet rooms, comfortable beds, well located, kind staff. Stayed here for one night with my daughter during a quick trip to Marseille. Special mention for bagage check which kept our stuff safe and sound while we went the next day, at no extra charge.
My friend and I stayed here our last night in Marseille after having gone on a Zumba Cruise. We were very pleased with the hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. Very nice hotel, close to the center and there were some parking spots close to the hotel. The staff was very nice and we enjoyed the breakfast too. The room was very spacious and we had a nice view to the street. The room was very clean and it had everything we needed

Quite alright! I got a pretty good deal... Paid around 70+ and it was definitely worth a bit more, very spacious rooms and toilets! Comfy bed...
We really enjoyed staying there, perfect for us as a couple, quiet and not too far away from the port or other activities. And the view can’t be beat!
Some say, "Le Rhul" is one of the few real places, where you can have a Bouillabaisse. In our case it was a hotel concierge and he was not wrong (I would like to believe). Very friendly staff at the restaurant. And I take this as "vive la experience!". It must come with the territory when you look for the iconic Bouillabaisse. Otherwise this place is so old-school, other dishes are so old-school. Am...
Amazing restaurant with magnificent sunset views. The bouillabaisse is very traditional and tasted splendid. The fish was really fresh and the croutons with aioli so good! Service was good and they came to top up my dish with hot soup three times. A fantastic experience.
The restaurant is nice, service was partially very good and partially not according to the price level. We had starters and second course (bouillabaisse) which was far too much and also for the kids. A small advice from the waiters could have been helpful. Food itself was good. Portions are huge. 2 adults and 3 kids ended up with 430 eur, which is a number where I expect everything has to be perfect
Very nice staff and breathtaking view if you choose a sea view room.

Nice and clean room, friendly atmosphere and good service.
The desk staff were most welcoming, friendly, and helpful which set a very comfortable tone for our two night stay. As we were very tired upon arrival, we chose to eat dinner in the main section of the hotel complex and we’re very happy we did as the food was delicious.
Greater service, very clean and quiet! Restaurant on Sundays so it is just a heads up if you plan a dinner at the property. Highly recommend.
Hotel in a historic old building. Unfortunately, the room was very noisy and there was street noise until midnight. Breakfast was good. Kettle broken.

Nice little hotel within walking distance of Saint-Charles station
I would not recommend staying at the Alex hotel if you are looking for a “boutique” hotel experience. We stayed at ALEX for 3 nights and had a great time :) The reception staff were always very friendly and helpful, we were able to spontaneously book breakfast (which had a bit of a limited selection for breakfast lovers, but wasn't bad) and a massage in the spa (which was excellent!)

I would rate the hotel with 4 stars. For me as an architect it definitely deserves 5 stars. It’s such an exceptional experience to get to stay there for two nights. Would recommend a lot to visit the roof and experience the space by hanging out there. But as for the hotel experience, it is a three star hotel, so don’t expect a lot just because it’s famous. I think they really wanted to keep as much...
Amazing place - what a privilege to be able to stay in one of Le Corbusier's finest buildings. I am not a Le Corbusier fanboy (although I do like him), but the whole place really is stunning. I found myself just looking around and smiling at how clever the whole place is. The room itself isn't luxury but they are constrained as to what they can do as this is how Le Corbusier designed the building!...
We stayed at this hotel because we love the building. We had deluxe double room with sea view. The room and the bathroom are very big. The price is high for what you get in terms of the room (old and dated) but the building and the access to the roof are wonderful. It was great to feel like you live in the building and to come to it multiple times, in the morning, in the night... Pro tip: Do not take...
Very basic by modern standards but informative to the architectural history. Nice and helpful staff.
At first, Everyone should keep in mind when you stay here that this is historical place from 1952. so some points maybe unusual compared with our current experience for hotel. Especially noise. Your noise is easily to across a wall even you always care to minimize noise because of aged floor and doors(at least my room was). You need time consideration when you do something in room. but if it's possible...

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Great location and the room had everything we need.
The price is a bit expensive. Parking is not cheap either.
There are many strange people in the nearby environment. You must be careful when going back at night. The room has a peculiar smell, which may be the smell of the air conditioner, but the service is very good and it is close to the station.
They are very average, near the old port, the public security is very poor at night and dare not go out! On the left hand side of the main entrance of the hotel is a relief station where homeless people and street wanderers gather!

Very simple hotel at the heart of old port. we have no facial tissue provided in the room. when we arrived, they are doing renovations outside our room`s corridor. i have not been informed and shocked to see the floor has been ripped off and dust is everywhere.
The hotel is located near the old port and is in a great location. The hotel also has air conditioning, which was very helpful during this hot season.
Facilities: Furniture is old and damaged. Walls are stained and yellow. Hygiene: The pictures are different from the real thing. Even if you stay for 5 days, there is no cleaning. If you have to book this room, it is recommended to leave after staying for a single day. Environment: The pictures are different from the real thing. Great location with friendly staff and very comprehensive amenities. Having two sinks - one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom - was very convenient. Great location, walkingdistancefrom everything. Breakfast was included, but nothing to wow about. Overall, it was a nice hotel for the price I've paid. The only one complaint i have is luggage storage time. You can't collect your luggage between 12pm and 3pm, which is very inconvenient. What is the point of closing the storage if the staff there anyway. Otherwise, I would give it a 5 star.
