Friendly reception. Clean rooms. Rather small balcony. The bus stop is in front of the hotel, easy to get to the city centre (bus 1 and 20) and back (bus 6). Supermarket over the street. Short walk to the public beach. The best advantage were early breakfast hours (7-10). The pool was also nice, not many people there and suprisingly I couldn't hear the traffic from the street that much.

If your flight gets cancelled and you're reading this review, the hotel isn't all that bad. The staff were nice and so was the food. Be sure to take a trip to the supermarket opposite as they had some amazing cheap food. Check the fruit aisle! Mot much else around worth exploring.

We came to this hotel for 4 nights due to our easy jet flight being cancelled. Our first room was extremely basic and not the nicest but did the job for an emergency room. We then found we needed to be here for another 3 nights. The man at the reception was extremely helpful with getting hold of easy jet etc and securing us a place to stay for the next 3 nights. The room we were then put in was nice...

We stayed at Vanisko Hotel for 3 nights. Everything about our experience was wonderful. The buffet breakfast was magnificent - fruit, vegetables, cheese, pastries, coffee, juice all the best quality. Everyone including the bar tenders, chefs, receptionists, and manger were wonderful to us. Should be 10 stars not five. Definitely the place to stay when in Heraklion.

Our flight was cancelled due to technical issues in UK traffic control. At 2 am the hotel quickly roomed 180 guests. Not knowing when flights would be the hotel allowed us to remain in our rooms until 00.30 the next morning. Check out should have been 12 noon. They were very friendly efficient and helpful. We had breakfast lunch and diner which were all very good. Well done on dealing with this unexpected...

We were moved here by TUI after our flight was cancelled and after initially being put in a 5* resort the night before, a resort that had refused us any food and drink when we arrived (late at night) without a very steep cost. The Vanisko Hotel isn't located in the best area agreed, and yes your passports are kept by reception until you check out, however, we were all given rooms for the afternoon...

just had 2 weeks at the hotel Castro-we arrived around midnight but was still offered a meal- with me being in a wheelchair I requested a ground floor pool view and that's what we got- the air con didn't work but he sorted it out there and then-clean towels and sheets daily- food was lovely- cant understand anyone complaining-if I didn't feel like a hot meal they would do me something else all we had...

Great hotel with friendly staff who gladly help you out. I stayed over for six days and arrived around 22:00. I booked a half-board arrangement (so breakfast and dinner) and while breakfast wasn't the most exciting (mostly due to my own preferences, they had different items available, I am just a bit picky when it comes to breakfast), dinner was served from the menu of the excellent attached restaurant...

The island, the place, and the accommodation are wonderful. The staff is incredibly friendly, always smiling and very helpful no matter what your question is. The lady at the reception is a true angel, and the guys are extremely attentive. The kittens are very cute, and I can honestly only recommend this place. ❤️ P.s. A wonderful week at Castro hotel. The rooms are clean, the staff is kind and helpful whenever is needed. Food is fresh and delicious. Everyone is smiling and it is the perfect location for families. At the pool of the hotel you can relax and enjoy the great holiday atmosphere. You may also find wonderful excursions. (Haris, a wonderful lady that can help you with these)

It’s easy to get to the hotel from the airport, just tell the taxi drivers the hotel name and they’ll know. Ride was 30€. You can also order taxi at the reception for a specific time during your departure, same price. You can extend your checkout if needed. The beach is roughly 4 minutes walk from the hotel, asphalt road (no hills or steps). Room was well air conditioned, we had a very large balcony...

We originally booked to stay at another hotel in the area and were redirected here last minute - so we were a little worried as we didn’t pick it ourselves! However the rooms are very modern and newly renovated. We found the double bed comfy too, which was a relief! Many reviews said they were two singles pushed together and always split with a gap down the middle - but ours was a proper double bed...

Everything is fine. Clean rooms, cleaned every day. Hotel territory is neat and beautiful. There is enough food both in the morning and in the evening. Our stay at Tsagarakis Beach was exactely what we were looking for. A family hotel directely at the beach with a nice swimmingpool. The hosts treated us like family members and really spoiled us! If you don`t need high end luxury but a superfriendly greek welcome atmosphere - that`s the place to go. From the hotel we went on a a long beachwalk to Heraklion and took a rental car to explore the rest...

The hotel is beachfront and the sandy beach is quiet. You can get free sunbeds and enjoy the beach without loud music. Nice pool, simple room but you get all essentials you need. The owner put a lot of heart into his family business. One can see many lovely traditional decorations and well maintained plants. This is not a luxurary hotel for parties but I find it very pleasent for family vacations...

Nice place for short or medium stays. Clean and tidy. Friendly staff and good location on the main strip, just 200m easy acces to beach. Breakfast basic but plenty and good quality food. Room shower is a average. Good pool but no bar really. Best to hire a car to get around as its so central you must travel out an about.

The hotel itself what you'd expect for the price. Rooms are clean and tidy if a bit dated. Breakfast is good as is the pool. Staff are excellent, very welcoming and helpful fixing any issues immediately.

I loved my stay, this place is amazing, its one step away from the fantastic beach. We had a beautiful room with a small kitchen and a big balcony. A small hob was supplied for cooking. The receptionists were always very friendly and took care of all our requests. The beach is just a minute away.

Beatiful hotel that has recently been renovated so equipment and furniture is state of the art. Overall very quiet neighbourhood and a very good cleanliness standard. We stayed at the hotel for 8 nights and had a very positive experience. The location is 2 minutes walk to a big beach. Many delicious restaurants are within easy walking distance. Public buses to the big city and Knossos Palace come regularly and stop in front of the hotel. The room was kept very clean. Breakfast was delicious with small local pastries as an extra. The balcony was far too narrow, and there was only one folding chair that fit across the room, so it was impossible to chill on the balcony in the evening for two. The shower was very small and the water spilled out. Otherwise, everything was great. The staff was really friendly. Everything was close: a supermarket, a restaurant, and a café, and it was only about 3 minutes to the beach.

Nice hotel, room was pretty but the bathroom was far too small. Toilet impossible to use due to space. Owner is nice but cleaners talk about you behind your back. Breakfast poor quality all the food was cold.

We had a day room before our late flight departure. The hotel definitely needs reservations. The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious. We really liked the pool, probably the best pool for doing laps in the area. There is plenty of parking. Also not far from the beach and few of restaurants in the vicinity. A real value for money.

A perfect location with a sandy beach right out the back door. There is a nice sized pool out back. The breakfast is wonderful. The rooms are clean and the staff are more than happy to look after your every need. The bathrooms are a little small, the shower can be a challenge, the toilet is tucked into the corner but even with that I love it here. I do recommend the place.

The room is small, bath also. The view is in the hill, no view just 2m. The pool is on top of the hill and the stairs are recessed in hill. It is far f from down town with all history. And on the evening a lot of crickets-like singing loud.

Great affordable place to act as a base while in Herlakion. Rooms are not the fanciest in the world, but the air conditioning worked, the beds were clean, and the breakfast was included. Can't complain.

It feels like a European business hotel. It's not very big, but it has everything you need, it's great for exploring the old town, and they provide breakfast, so I had a great rest.

Perfectly fine hotel in the city center, with a good breakfast service. Room was clean. I did find some mold in the shower. For those with a vehicle, the roads near hotel are very tight with very limited parking available. Advise using a paid parking lot nearby.

The room, the staff, the location all are really nice. However, we stayed on the top floor and the whole afternoon and the next morning starting at 8 AM, there was loud drilling and hammering due to roof renovations. When we complained to the receptionist, she said “sorry” and mentioned that “they should have started at 9AM, not at 8”. Well, drilling and hammering at 9AM in the morning on a Saturday...

Our stay was amazing,very nice,modern and clean room, equipped,comfy bed, in the center close to everything,very polite staff, decent breakfast. There was a small malfunction with the balcony door,not that great soundproofing,no privacy-soundproofing between room and bathroom and no sitting in the balcony but no big deal, totally value for money, i would definitely book again. We had all family a comfortable stay with kind hostesses. The breakfast with high quality products for all tastes. And the surprise of us was the jazz bar 1866. We suggested for a nice visit on this city because you could approach the market on foot and do walks all day and night!

Great localization, near to the most important spots od Heraklion, room was spacious, everything was very clean. It was great that we could leave our luggage when we checked out and were going to Knossos.

Positive: Marina at the reception was very helpful when we faced a road block in booking one of our local tours. She was able to find an unlisted number for the tour company and connect us with a live person at 9 pm to book our tour for the following morning. Nice location, not too central, but still easily reachable from the airport bus. Perfect for a short stay in the city.

The location is in front of the port, so you can walk there after getting off at the port. The airport will call you a taxi for 15 euros, and there is no coffee pot in the room.

The room is relatively simple but clean, including disposable slippers. The breakfast on the 6th floor is also relatively simple, but the view is excellent. You can see the Venetian Castle on the seaside of Heraklion. It is also very close to various attractions.

The Marin Hotel is located near the ruins of the ancient city, close to the city center, and has excellent accommodation. It is very convenient to eat and shop nearby. The owner is also warm and thoughtful, the breakfast is rich and there is an unparalleled sea view.

I would recommend only if you are there for one day or night and have to catch the ferry in the morning as location is very good and close to port as well as local transport bus station and airport ! We were in triple room. Price seems very high compared to room size and kind. The bathroom area for shower was very congested only 1 or 1.5 feet in length..the lift is very small it can accommodate either...

Good choice to stop for one night

There is no better place as a hotel to be closer to the airport. Take any bus infront of the hotel and in two minutes you are there. Same thing for v.v. The Hotel is a three stars but everything works to your convinience. It's an Airport Hotel that cloce that you may also walk there. The Bar can serve you all you may need and even you may have any kind of meal from different catering places, restaurants...

I have been coming here for several years and always found the same warm welcome. Not to speak of the super convenient location not far from the airport for overnight stays. The recent refurbishment is a welcome upgrade too. My only regret is that the snack bar has given in to the regrettable requirement for. Pizza and burgers instead of Greek food. But I still enjoyed a delicious salad.

We arrived at diana appt in agia pelagia, and then Heleni received us as if we were old friends. The studios give an incredible view at 30m from the sea with a feeling of being alone in the world. Then the studios, functional but with all the necessary and very clean. But the cherry on top of the cake is that Heleni and her son Georgios and his partner, invite you for a BBQ unexpectedly. We loved it...

My other home. Fine rooms with fantastic view. A calm place away from the busy beach, yet still in walking distance to the beach and shops.The owners do all they can to take care of your needs and make you feel welcome.

My experience is not very good due to some movability issue due to old age. We visit this hotel with my friend next week and we had a wonderful time. The service was perfect with friendly staff and rooms are very big with seaview . You can relax in the pool with a coctail in your free time. The bathroom was very nice. All in all, would stay there again and would recommend it.

I was with my family in Aquarius Hotel in 2019 in Juni. Now is everything different. This year we were in July. Its no more apartaments! Its real Hotel! . For me is more than 3 stars. I was in the Aquarius Hotel 10 days. It was my 3 th. stay in Kreta. This time was the most wonderfull. The hotel is very clean, very close to the beach. The staff is very helpfull. Breakfast very tasting. Excellent omlette. Very good wifi. I recommend for everybody. They have also transfer from and to the airport

Positives - The hotel itself is small and friendly with lovely views out to sea. The pool was lovely and never busy, very quiet hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, could not do enough to help. Good value for money, stuff was nice and the restaurant had very nice food. Our room could have a better view, and the fact that the sink was outside of the restroom was a bit uncomfortable. I simply love it. Rooms , price , placement, staff... Everything. I was exactly what we ask the agency for. A nice quiet clean friendly hotel close to beach .
