Lindos Grand Resort and Spa - Adults Only

This is not a 5* hotel, do not stay here!

What was nice: food, ground staff (thanks to to Joanna, Dimitri, Sahen, Elisavet and Julia).

Room: terrible and not functional. The suite is a room with a sofa and an adjacent bedroom. The sofa room has only a sofa and a small table, no decorations, no pillows, very bare.. The bedroom doesn’t have a wardrobe, the bathroom is integrated into the bedroom, the sink is close to clothes and all your personal items. The glass toilet door doesn’t close, there is a large gap between the toilet and the rest of the room. The toilet broke three times during our 10 day stay. The sun enters the room via the bathroom window, which you cannot cover. There is no desk. The water is not provided. No decorations whatsoever and finished all with tiles, giving it a cheap look. Majority of rooms in the hotel have a view on a wall, parking or other rooms.

Pool: huge and stunning but all beds are taken by 9AM. “no reservation” policy ignored. There is area close to the pool with very cheap looking beds, small umbrellas, and muddy lawn. The pool is not managed by staff ensure you are not reserving a bed at 6AM.

Beach: terrible. Some old and broken chairs are scattered around, the path to the beach is littered and half broken. the beds are cheap and umbrellas small.

Gym and spa : this hotel doesn’t have a spa or gym on site. Most of the equipment is missing or half broken, there is no air con, no towels, no proper paper to wipe the equipment (only toilet paper). The gym is VERY dirty. Staff very unhelpful and rude.

Other: there are ongoing constructions in the hotel and the construction workers left a pile of rubbish by the pavement on the way to the gym.

We raised our concerns about the gym, pool and room to Saarah, Team Division Manager, on the second day of our stay. She met with us but instead of trying to listen and understand our concerns she interrogated us and started the conversation by telling us off for an earlier “incident” by the pool (we saw a couple checking out and took their beds by the pool, they came back and wanted their beds back). She mentioned that if this would happen again “even police might be called”. She then came up with a list of excuses to our concerns. She admitted the gym was poor and that she “wouldn’t want to have a room designed in such a way”. But she summarised by saying that all pictures and descriptions are available online and we were fully aware of what we were booking. She said the hotel is designed in a minimalistic style, but I think she fails to see a difference between minimalistic and cheap. To compensate for the gym she offered us complimentary water, beer or house wine for dinner, a slap in the face when you are spending over 5000 euros in a hotel. We refused this “gesture”. We then requested to early check out from the hotel but she refused to give our money back despite booking directly with the hotel. She then ignored us for the entire stay and not once checked how we were doing. If her role is to listen, understand, show empathy and build relationships with guest she failed completely. We left more angry than before the meeting. She had so many opportunities to make our stay more comfortable (a hand written note apologising for the discomfort, a bottle of wine to the room, an invite for a massage). She should have checked with us later on but she simply decided to ignore us.

We didn’t enjoy our stay in this hotel but Saarah had all the opportunities to change that. Unfortunately she failed and made our stay far more miserable only elevating the things that irritated us in the first place. Because of this I am giving the hotel such a low rating and I absolutely do not recommend this hotel for the money that they are charging. This is not a 5 star hotel, do not go there if you are looking for luxury.
