Apollo Beach Mini-hotel

Pool and scenery: As we travelled out of season it was a lot quieter. If you plan on coming out of season be aware many bars and restaurants aren’t open. Plenty of available sun beds and seating areas. Lovely walk down to the beach , and although it was a bit chilly to go in the pool this was well maintained. Our view from the balcony was lovely as we had a sea view! Room / Cleaning: The cleaners were lovely and friendly. The only thing I would change was that the floor would be swept and mopped in our room, as sand collected on the floor. 2 sachets of coffee, sugar , tea and milk were provided each day. It would be nice if there was more ( maybe 4 of each ). Our room was nice and had plenty of storage and a fridge. However we paid for a deluxe double room with a front sea view, and unfortunately there were 2 single beds pushed together. Having paid a premium for this room we would have appreciated a double bed. There was a strange sound and smell coming from the ventilation grate in the bathroom, and it turns out there was a pigeon. I told reception, and I was told this would be sorted. A man came later and was in for 10 minutes and he left some chemicals , however the bird is still here and alive. It was not removed. The air conditioning was cold for 2 nights and then began to blow hot air. On the last day we booked another room just to have time before our flight. We found that an average room was similar to the fancy room (apart from the view) so next time we would not pay extra. Food/ dining: We were half board and when we arrived ( in time for dinner ) we were hoping that water or soft drinks such as apple juice were free with our meal, however with dinner there were no free drinks. This did surprise me, as even water would be appreciated. We brought our own water down to avoid paying. Keep in mind if you are half board no free drinks are provided with dinner. There is more of a range for carnivores however there were still options for vegetarians. The food was very well presented and tasty. I was very impressed with the standard of food. When more guests came it was very crowded but some people don’t mind. I can get quite claustrophobic but with buffets it’s to be expected for there to be queues. It would be helpful if breakfast could be extended until 11 or half 10 as there is a time difference for many visitors who have not yes adjusted to the time zone and having extra time in the morning would be nice instead of rushing or waking up earthly Other comments: The lady at reception was very nice and helpful. The taxi service is quick when booked with reception.

The location for Apollo beach is perfect. Right on the beach, walking via the beach route takes under 5 minutes and you're at the centre.

The rooms are very modern and nice but ours needed a good clean on the floors, around cupboards etc. Our bathroom was very outdated and the bath was stained with grime around it. No plug to use for the bath. Room 484 if management read this.

Food changes daily, it's standard canteen style all inclusive food. Not to our liking so we switched our half board to always lunch and ate out every night instead.

Be aware, if you're half board and you leave late on your last day (our coach picked up at 9pm) you only get breakfast that day. So your half board ends after breakfast on your last day.

Some staff were friendly, some were quite abrupt and not the kindest.

There is an outside bar serving drinks until roughly midnight, it did close up earlier some nights.

The shops sells everything you may need, it closes for a few hours in the afternoon.

The taxis cost us €40 to Rhodes and €20 to the waterpark from the hotel.

There are watersports right outside the hotel on the beach. Absolutely brilliant.

Tons of sunbeds and space on the grass. We always got some with no problems. The sea is calm and you can easily walk from sea to pool in a minute.

Overall, the location is perfect, the grasses area with all the sunbeds is perfect. Very stress free. Rooms are small but clean. Bathrooms need updating. Food isnt the best but that's personal taste. I wouldn't go back but I can see why many do.
