The Unicorn is the hotel of choice. It's in a great location for walking around the city. The exterior of the hotel seems to have been renovated, so it was a bit different from the interior, but there was a breakfast buffet and it was a comfortable stay.

When I book a hotel at a low price I understand what I can get. This is a hotel in the very center of Eger, even if I did not want to get there, I always walked nearby) the guys at the reception are very polite, breakfasts (again, for this money) are excellent. If you want luxurious conditions, you need to pay the appropriate money)

We stayed here for two nights while wine tasting in Eger. What a lovely spot. We had a nice little apartment (room 6 - although not so great for my husband who is 6’5” because we were on the top floor and the ceilings slanted. Glad he survived.). This is a lovely location with parking for guests (for an extra charge). Quite a bargain and a lovely place.

The place has a very traditional ambiance but honestly it is very touristy. There is usually live gipsy music but it was a bit too much for my taste. The food was basic, my chicken was a little unsalted. The waiter was ok

We have visited this restaurant many times over the past 30 years. The food is average and the staff seem to be stuck in the 1990's. There is nothing exactly wrong with the food - a bit too salty, slightly dry, not particularly tasty - but there is nothing exceptional either. The service is mixed. We have decided not to go again.

My favourite place for dinner in the Valley. The whole place is designed as a showcase of traditional Hungarian cuisine, wine, and wine making. Dishes are exceptionally delicious, and the wine selection is great. The staff is super helpful, and kind. The place is a bit more expensive than the average restaurant, but definitely worth it.

This is one of my favorite location in Eger. It is a fantastic location right next to the castle wall in the middle of downtown. You can feel the history and the culture radiates from the walls of the building! Actually it is an interesting fact that they used some of the stones from the castle when the hotel was built. Even during Covid they are creative to offer some drinks outside for the tourists...

Very good and family pension in the heart of the old town next to an old church, close to everything. Would be 4.5 stars. Great view nice food, reasonably close to the city centre. The rooms are a bit small but tidy and neat. Overall recommended if you don't look for pure luxury.

For people looking for quiet stay

We had a pleasant stay here. Staff was really friendly and service minded. They prepared the sauna and jacuzzi for use and we received muffins upon check-out. Rooms are a bit dated, but facilities are nevertheless still fine. Would come back when around.
