Hotel Lugano Torretta

We booked this hotel last minute as it was in a good location. Upon check-in, we were informed that the room we had booked was a twin instead of the double we had requested. We were told it would only be changed for the second night. I asked about the possibility of an upgrade and was willing to pay the difference, after some back and forth, we were kindly offered the upgrade free of charge.

However, there were several issues during our stay:
• Room temperature was extremely high (29–30°C) and the air conditioning wasn’t working. We later found out it had been intentionally turned off by the hotel, but we were not informed of this.
• We had to sleep with the windows open, and one of them was cracked, which let in a lot of street noise and disturbed our sleep.
• No iron was available in the room, and reception didn’t respond to multiple calls. I had to go down and was told guests must iron their clothes in a designated area.
• A laundry bag was provided, but we were told the hotel doesn’t offer laundry service. We had to walk 5 minutes to a nearby place to get it done.

Overall, not a great experience. We stayed in seven hotels during our trip, and unfortunately, this was by far the worst.

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at Hotel Lugano. While the staff deserves praise for their professionalism and kindness – truly great people – the hotel's dining experience was beyond disappointing. I was served a burnt steak that was advertised as a filet mignon. The portion sizes were tiny, barely enough for a bird. To make matters worse, the menu provided in the emails prior to my visit mysteriously disappeared upon arrival, replaced by entirely different dishes and inflated prices. This was not just a minor inconvenience; it felt like a bait-and-switch tactic. The entire experience was overpriced and left me feeling deeply dissatisfied.

I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a quality dining experience.

I stayed two nights at this hotel with a tour, and it was very disappointing. The WiFi didn't work well. I had to call reception frequently so that they can restart the WiFi service. The breakfast was very poor, the electrical sockets were far away from bed. The worst and surprising thing was they didn't clean the room at all!!!, and had to ask to reception for new clean towels. Terrible service. Definitely is not a 4-star hotel. Don't recommend it.
