All’Angelo Art Hotel in Venice

The location of All’ Angelo Art Hotel is good—right in the heart of Venice and within walking distance of major attractions. A nice bonus is that they have their own dock, which was very convenient since we needed a private boat to and from the airport. Our room was also spacious ( stayed at San Marco room) and the birthday package decorations are beautiful.

Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was disappointing. We stayed for 3 nights, and while check-in felt welcoming ( I wish I remember the Tall skinny guy at the front desk during this night he was nice) that was the only time my family truly felt comfortable during our stay.
I had arranged and paid an additional €120 for a birthday celebration package on top of the already expensive rate of around $400 USD per night (excluding the water taxi, which the hotel tried to overcharge for—I ended up booking a different company myself).

On the very first day, my mother lost her money and I lost a piece of jewelry in our hotel room after we left for the day. We reported this immediately to the front desk guys name was Alkeon, but the response was dismissive and made us feel as if we weren’t believed. I later emailed the hotel but received no response. The manager eventually got involved, but the situation was handled poorly—we ended up spending half a day filing a police report just so there would be some official record. Despite this, we never heard back from the hotel regarding our missing valuable items.

What made matters worse was the uncomfortable atmosphere afterward. Each time we passed through the lobby, we felt watched and unwelcome, which created an overall awkward and unpleasant environment.

While the location is convenient, the experience was overshadowed by the lack of professionalism, poor handling of a serious situation, and the uncomfortable treatment we received from the staff.

Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel.

Because the reviews looked decent and it was very close to St. Mark's Square, I booked two nights. However, upon arrival, I found the room had a strange odor and was extremely small—so cramped that I couldn't even lay down a carry-on suitcase flat open. There were one or two small flies flying around, and the bathtub drain in the bathroom was very slow, possibly clogged with something. All the doors made creaking noises. So the next morning, I decided to check out early and booked another place instead. Due to the hotel's refund policy, they did not refund me for the second night I didn't stay. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
