Grand Hotel Villa Politi

I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel. The service was amazing and the hotel was a dream. I was very happy with the service I received in the pool section of the hotel. I felt very comfortable and extremely happy that there was someone who spoke English as I don't speak or understand Italian. She was great. She explained so much to me and was very helpful to my family and myself. The only disappointing issue I had with the hotel was the dinning area. My fork had egg stuck to it and my wife's plate had a sauce stain on the side of it. It was a big turn off for us. The food was great. Overall I enjoyed my stay. I will be returning soon.

Beautiful traditional hotel, full of history, enjoyed sipping Negroni in Winston Churchill bar and lovely pool. View from balcony. Has its own beach platform (rock) 5 mins walk. Short taxi ride to Ortigia and so near to archaeological site - a must! Would recommend.

We had the pleasure of spending the past week at the Grand Hotel Villa Politi and were thoroughly impressed by its timeless elegance and refined charm. The architecture is magnificent, the rooms stunning and comfortable, and the sweeping views over the gardens are truly delightful.

Perched gracefully on the hillside just outside the historic centre of Syracuse, the hotel enjoys a wonderfully convenient yet tranquil location. Its illustrious past – with distinguished guests such as Churchill – lends a unique sense of prestige and history to one’s stay. It should also be noted that the property is situated atop the Latomie dei Cappuccini, a historic stone quarry of great cultural interest. One may view it only from the hotel’s balustrade, which is indeed picturesque, but it is a pity that the site itself cannot be explored by guests. Such an opportunity would have added a truly remarkable dimension to the stay.

That said, one does at times sense that the hotel relies a little heavily on this heritage. The breakfast offering was rather average and could certainly be improved, and the lunch as well as the poolside bar options fell somewhat short of the standard expected from an establishment of this stature. Same goes for the welcoming at check-in and provided information.

Special commendation, however, must go to the housekeeping team: our room was impeccably maintained each day and their dedication to detail was most impressive.

In sum, this is a splendid hotel with great character and history, but with room for refinement in the culinary and service department.

This hotel was fantastic during our stay. The house keeping staff were so polite and friendly. The pool was immaculate and the best pool I have ever visited. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff always said hello! Fantastic place!

Hotel Villa Politi is a beautiful hotel. We enjoyed staying there. The rooms were beautiful and the kids loved the pool. The majority of the staff were amazing. We really liked the girl who worked at the pool. She was friendly, professional and very efficient. She took very good care of us. Sebastian the manager was also very professional and also made sure we were taken care of as he would serve us on occasion. The only drawback from our stay was a female staff member who we overheard others referring to as Francesca. She was very rude to us and the other guests at the hotel. For instance, my family and I were in the breakfast room waiting for someone to help serve us. She walked in and completely ignored us. When we finally got her attention she was rude and appeared miserable. This happened throughout our stay. Otherwise we can't wait to come back next year!

An old-fashioned hotel with gorgeous but old facilities. The shower was not very useful, the space was small and it was sometimes hot and sometimes cold. The service was also average. I asked the front desk for a cup of hot water, but it was salty for some reason. I had dinner in the hotel, and the steak tasted average. This was the most unsatisfactory stay during this trip to Sicily.

Structure always full of charm and history. It is always worth staying in this hotel if you come to visit Syracuse. Breakfast deserves a little more attention.

Good, good value for money, great environment, convenient parking, easy to find

A sumptuous Paradise with undeniable splendor...between sky and earth and the sea for Horizon...all in a cozy atmosphere, where the simple but present comfort allows you to make the most of this charming establishment..the swimming pool is magnificent and the latomies offer a spectacular backdrop..
The staff is discreet and smiling, the breakfast essential and complete..what can I say?
