Maybe a little too far from the center of Syracuse, about 5 km, so you'll need a car. Staff is absolutely helpful but they behave a little coldly. Building is old fashioned but still functional so there's nothing you'll be missing. You can have a cheap decent meal in the restaurant if you need it.
You will need a car to reach city center. A/C not controled by the guest, you have it on or off. Only one person speaks English in all staff.

I was very happy with Hotel Casa Mia. It is in a great location within walking distance of Ortigia but close to the cheaper and less touristy restaurants of Siracusa. I arrived at 10.30am and was able to check into my room which was an added bonus. Whilst the hotel is located on a busy street, my room was within an internal courtyard so it wasn't noisy. There was a decent breakfast each morning
A few rooms in an old house. Very high ceilings, old but beautiful furniture, really excellent breakfast, welcoming service. Just great.
Everything was good. If you need to pay with a credit card, there is a 20 euros charge funnily enough
Nice place with interesting decor. Very Sicilian style. Great location, close to good restaurants and the center

Great location, easy walking distance to restaurants & sights of Siracusa. The people at front desk were helpful & friendly. The breakfast was good & fresh. Room was comfortable and clean. We would stay there again.
Friendly and welcoming hotel with easy parking right outside and a 20 minute walk into both old and new towns. A real bargain and perfectly clean and adequate.
Good connection with train and bus to catania airport. Just in front of it! The staff was really nice and helpful, and a good price. Not the best bed in the world, and a little far from the old town. But still, I'd recommend it!
If you find a good price for this hotel, it is acceptable. a little bit far away from the old town. dated but clean rooms.

Very clean rooms with new furniture. Excellent location to visit Syracuse and Ortigia on foot. The breakfast bar staff are nice and so are the hotel reception staff.
Clean and well furnished and equipped rooms. Friendly staff. But the strong point of the hotel is its strategic position, a stone's throw from Ortigia, Fonte Aretusa, Porto Piccolo. Practically on foot you can easily visit the heart of the city. The excellent breakfast offered with a ticket at the WE bar. The only flaw, there is no parking reserved for the hotel, but still a few steps away there...

We arrived after 9pm with no reservation as we were in the area and unexpectedly needed a place to stay. It didn’t seem like much from the outside, but we liked the price and were happy to have a place to stay for the night. The price included breakfast so that was a bonus. We ended up staying for three nights! The rooms were very clean and modern. There was a small but comfortable courtyard where...
It's a small hotel. Our room smells like the room has been close for a couple of days, and the shower did a really strange noise. But so far so good for the price.
We payed 38 Euro for one night including breakfast. We had a big room comfortable beds. Build quality is not that good. But they are super friendly and helpful... The best deal I ever had for a hotel. And buy the way, location is awesome! Nice vieuw and lots of free parking! One advice for the owner... A bit more detail on cleaning
The rooms are quite good and spacious. The bathroom maintenance could be better, the shower had traces of lime. Air conditioning is nice.

Really nice hotel, greatly located, and the staff is really attentive. I washed my clothes in my bedroom and put them on the balcony. We arrived in the room and the clothes were nicely put on a drying rack to make sure they would not fly away. The breakfast is great Alessandra is a sweetheart.
Very comfortable hotel in the center of beautiful Ortigia, very close to one of the most fascinating food markets in Italy. People are very nice and helpful, rooms clean and prices very reasonable. Highly recommended!
Small hotel in very old building. The hotel is small and has no elevator. Just across the hotel is the local immigration police office, which creates some groups of people in front of the hotel. Nevertheless very friendly and helpful owners and at a perfect location. Rooms are spacious but simple. Looking for an affordable hotel in the middle of the action. This is your choice.

Nice contemporary place. Excellent English speaking receptionist giving helpful tips to get through corona-regulated days.
Incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. Super tasty food! For big eaters: make sure to take a starter and main.
Very special and amazing food, service is perfect too, it’s a must when you come to Ortigia, thanks again
When I go out for an evening I hope to find a location that unites atmosphere, estetica, kindness and tasteful quality. I find it all at Gutkowskino : )
I enjoy Gutkowskino every time again. The informal atmosphere, the friendly service, the tasteful (figurative : ) furniture and Santi's cooking style makes it that more than one sense is totally satisfied. And...the view from the terrace is amazing! (This review comes from a critical insider)
The best spot to stay in this beautiful town. Friendly stuff, very good breakfast (not warm dishes like omelettes or fried eggs or any charcuterie) but a variety of local cheese, fresh fruit and juices. Parking place available near. Wonderful view to the sea for some of the rooms.

Ancient Jewish baths are very interesting. However 5 euro cost for guided tour seems steep considering it lasts less than 15 mins.
These are ancient Jewish baths ... I recall the only ones in Europe. They were buried, literally, in the 15th cenury when the Jews were expelled from Syracuae, and found again when renovation work was undertaken in the hotel inbthe late 20th century. Well worth a visit - if a little brief and pricey at 10 Euros (2012)

Really pleasant stay, the staff at the reception was very very nice and helpful, Francesca showed us what to see and where to eat, the guy at the afternoon shift also was very keen to help. Rooms are big and very clean.
Excellent location on Ortigia. I had a high balcony and could see both sides of the sea at either end of the street. I loved the mattress, there was great water pressure in the shower. There were many steps and I don’t think there is an elevator for those who need one. The room was large with one large bed and one single bed. The staff were very kind and helpful. Left my bag there on the last morning...
I stayed at this property in August 2021. Clean and welcoming hotel, very kind and very helpful staff. Excellent location in the center of Ortigia and great breakfast!
We were in 2. Well equipped room equipped with all comforts, even if we were in the highest room and it was a bit small. Difficult to find parking in the surroundings even if full of paid parking lots. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We originally wanted to be in Ortigia thinking we’d be too far if we stayed in Siracusa. It’s a short mile walk to Ortigia and well worth it to stay here! The breakfast is out of this world! As are the lunch and dinners. The only private beach anywhere in Siracusa and just stunning design both inside and on the grounds. The staff is some of the best I’ve seen. It’s family run and they bend over backwards...
My husband and I had the most wonderful time here. The entire staff was so friendly, welcoming, and helpful, especially Francesca who gave us perfect recommendations for dinners and drinks in Ortigia. The room was very comfortable, and the private beach was so nice. I appreciate the attention to detail, it’s obvious they care about creating an enjoyable experience.
Overwhelmed by the generous and thoughtful hospitality here. Francesca and the entire staff were incredible and attentive. Having read some of the negative complaints it’s obvious those guests were looking for a ‘deal’, were bad guests themselves or simply have no understanding of how much it costs to operate lodging at this level of perfection. I would recommend this stay to anyone visiting.
everything, location, private beach, decor, ambience, especially appreciated the staff who were excellent. The food was faultless, more expensive than most, but definitely worth it.
3rd time staying here ,it must be one of the most unique hotels because of the sheer proximity to the water ,luxury and simplicity combine very well . They made us feel part of the family ,will definitely be back .
We spent three days at the hotel with my wife. It was a real pleasure, it was a great balance between luxury and simplicity. The staff was nice and always available and was careful of respecting our privacy. The private beach is the best in town and the breakfast is just amazing. We will miss Buddy( the nice dog).

Very comfortable small bb hotel on second floor of previously larger hotel. Clean and quitet. At edge of town ...would need a car to visit the island point. Close to archeological museum and theatre ruins. Very good breakfast, helpful staff
Really liked our stay here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Fair amount of English and Spanish spoken also. Rooms are a good size and comfortable with good selection of TV channels. Air con works well. nice hotel, within walking distance from everything interesting in Syracuse, great location and very good service
Hotel teocrito is located in a residential apartment building, but not very difficult to find. The location is a little bit far from the old town. Free parking is on streets nearby. The room is clean and well equipped, and the staff is warm. Breakfast is quite good.
Hotel teocrito is amazing! The rooms are spacious and the staff is incredibly warm and attentive! Breakfast is very good as well. Although a little far from Ortigia (like 25 min walking) it's close to the archeological museum and right next to a great and cheap pizzeria! Recommend!

I was lucky enough to be relocated to this hotel, following a disastrous air b n b booking. The room was very comfortable, on the ground floor, which I thought might be noisy, it wasn’t. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. One night I ate in the hotel, the food was incredible!! I highly recommend it. I had vongole spaghetti, the flavours were explosive. They also let me store my luggage on...
Really good hotel. Friendly staff willing to help you anytime. In the center of Ortigia, the real old city of Siracusa. Cozy rooms. Warm and quiet at night. Free WiFi and varied breakfast with cakes, fruit, yogur.... the only “but” is that doesn’t have parking and park in Ortigia in high season I think it would be a nightmare.
The beds were comfy and warm, and the bathroom was fine. Nice that it was in the centre of town (Ortigia)The bar/breakfast needed improvement, they thought we weren't hotel guests and tried to makes us pay, Strange. Also the rooms were small and cramped, but according to everyone else this was a rare occurrence. Overall 3.7 Thanks for reading
The restaurant below is incredible ! Complimentary prosecco on arrival and arancini before appetizers. Crisp bread is served with meals, I ordered the burrata to start and octopus for the main. Delicious food, would recommend for everyone to visit when in Ortigia !

There are several reasons to like this hotel. The cute, spacious rooms are comfortable, clean and have sea views. It’s brilliantly located in the handsome old post office building at the top of the old town, yet close to the bus and train stations and beside the main island car park. The breakfast terrace has panoramic views of two harbours and the fishing boats coming into port. But my main reason...
Service is outstanding, yet the size of the room vs price is a bit disappointing. Also to have more protein options for breakfast would be good.
Very good value for money! Got the single room and there is a reasonably sized single bed, a desk, fridge, new AC and bathroom! All one can need! Breakfast was simple and great! U can choose what u want in advance and get it in ur room or at the terrace
Very helpful staff. Very good location. Cheap and clean. Spacious rooms. Perfect location city center. Wifi was working. I suggest you go on foot from Central Station it' s very near and book directly ...price is cheaper than on boo king Dot com or ex pedia. I was a solo traveler. It ' s a safe place for woman.
