Hotel Belle Epoque

Hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from the train station. Plenty of restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance.

The rooms are serviceable for the price. Hotel staff is hit or miss. The Italian gentleman was very polite and helpful. The women with dark hair and glasses was less helpful.

Hotel location is very good. Both train station and bus terminal are in walking distance. 24 hour reception was an added advantage as we reached after mid night. We had checked with some other hotels where late check in was not possible. AC was not working. Good for one night stay.

I had doubts about the hotel after I read some negative reviews. However, the staff has made quite some changes and these are not relevant anymore! Yes, rooms seem to be old and quite warm, but this is Venice and all buildings are several centuries old. Breakfast was quite good with good quality and abundance. Food was also restocked all the time. Biggest advantage is the location as it is literally 2 min away from the station, offers good connection to Vaporetto. In addition, there is a good supermarket next door which saved us multiple times as restaurants in Venice are of poor quality and have high prices. We were also allowed to store our luggage on a safe spot in the hotel for several hours after check out.

Only drawback is that we again needed to pay city tax cash only, but got an explanation that it is because they do not want to pay a commission for small transactions.

P.S. They give you a card for reduced price in a restaurant nearby. However, we did not take advantage as the restaurant seemed to have quite controversial reviews and did not look nice.

Small but well organised room. Very nice building and ambience. Very nice room for breakfast. Excellent value for money. The only problem was that I was asked to pay the city tax on arrival, which I did, but the night guy hadn't put it in the book, so a bit of an argument when I checked out and was asked to pay it again.

The location is perfect for a traveler who uses the railway since it is very close to the station. The room was beautifully arranged. A safe in my travel partner's room was broken and we should have reported that to the receptionist. Their breakfast was very satisfying. Thank you so much for the nice stay!

The room is furnished with typical venetian furniture that might be also a little older just as the walls or other equipment. Everything worked fine but there were stains on the carpet or cut cables in the bathroom. We also could not find a “do not disturb sign.” The service was nice and the breakfast offered a good variety of tasty food to choose from which gave us some energy for the day. The best thing about this hotel is the location just 5 minutes walking from the train station on the main island. The price was reasonable and i would recommend this place for anyone traveling on budget.

Hotel is in a great spot near the train and bus station (handy for not dragging your luggage to the far side of the island). Our rooms were small, without a balcony like others (our tariff) but otherwise cosy. Also both near the lift which is noisy so make sure you ask from rooms away from it. Intense room decoration, might be triggering for some. Breakfast is really nice and was included. Bed wasn't that comfortable, being two singles bonded together. Bedding blankets quite old.

I got the room in the attic, the very last room of the building. The bed is good, the bathroom is working. The heating and air-conditioning is working. Brekfast is ok too.(italian style) I love the location, on the Venice island itself, very close to the train and the main boat pier for my lines. Everything else is there, even a supermarket next to it, and nice restaurants.
