Hotel A La Commedia

We were fortunate to be given a room on our arrival am .However this room is designed for disabled persons and very basic layout for wheel chair access. Good to know they have a wheelchair access bathroom/shower and room. Upon request, as to suitability we were changed to a really lovely room. But having to wait until 2pm. Thanks
For an old building and for Venice the rooms were large well equipped and very quiet, Very up to date
Breakfast is limited but a good selection. At an extra cost you can request further dishes from a menu
My comment for future guests, the free tour plus any other tours booked at the hotel is dependent on numbers if less than four it will be cancelled. This happened to us on 3 occasions. You will not be told until just before due, (low season)
To also remember Venice appears to have regular strikes on transport serves the day we arrive trains the day we went to the island (ferry) unable to extend as public ferry services were on strike with very limited services. Normally the service is one way but because of this a return was arranged. The glass factory was very accommodating plus it is interesting and no hard sell, they have 2 areas limited additions and off the shelf, you can barter a little and for cash we received 10% discount in the off-shelf area
Hotel position is really good, both for access to sights plus we were unable to get lost when walking back due to proximity to the water and bridge of sighs
Their airport and ship terminal transfers are very well organized with luggage assistance all the way to and from the hotel, well worth it

It’s old but commodities were okay

Everything was lovely, from the canopy to the amenities. The location was great, within a 5 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square.

It met expectations, everything was great, from the location, to the cleanliness, friendly service and great breakfast.

What a fabulous hotel perfectly located a block from the Grand Canal and close to both the Rialto Bridge and St Marks Square. 

The receptionists are outstanding and answered all of our many questions with comprehensive answers, patience and respect. Can’t rave enough about them. 

The rooms are even prettier than indicated on line, with plush bedding, a large bathroom and plenty of space.

Breakfast was convenient and offered a large variety of choices. Service was also exceptional.

Without question - you will enjoy this full service hotel. As a bonus, there is also an elevator so you don’t have to lug your suitcase up the stairs.

Location is great, nice staff, comfortable bed, great shower water, breakfast with lots of choice, nice fruits, supermarket only 2 mins walk, i will come back

This hotel was a great find. Located near the Rialto bridge .... easy access by water bus and short walk to St Marks Square. Hotel was quiet and overlooked a small square. Room was large with nice furnishings. Staff were helpful. Would definitely stay again.

In the heart of venice but at the same time quiet and high class. We had the thought that venice would have an odour but it is not true! This hotel was the best we had during our trip to Italy because of the attentiveness and helpfulness. They provide sanitary bags in the hotel room and have a public washroom. Baggage storage was perfect as we needed more time to explore venice after checking out. Worth it for a 1 night stay.
