Reviews
This should be a 5 star hotel rather a 4 star …
The only downside to this was the size of the room , the room was small but it was neutralised by the size of the bathroom that had 2 sinks , a bathtub and shower area …
And the food was so basic... unfortunately for such an expensive place, not much of a great experience 👎
Great terrace and food.
It is not however very welcoming. The staff don’t smile and don’t seem to enjoy working there, they behave like robots.
On top of that a maid walked into our room late in the evening which I’ve never experienced in my life and I travel a lot. It was quite shocking.
It’s expensive and you have to pay for everything, not even a free bottle of water is provided and as soon as you step out there’s a Tiffany’s. It’s obvious this area is the so called luxury, that rich tourists coming of the ferries love.
The fact that this four star hotel has no tea or coffee making facilities is quite ludicrous.
Major point also the bed was bad, indeed it was two beds pushed together. For the price I paid, I’d expect a proper bed! It felt like a holiday inn with nicer decorations. We kept falling into the middle. Really not great for a four star hotel!
They also added the tax on checkout when the booking clearly stated taxes and fees were included and on previous trips to Venice were there has been a charge, it’s taken at the start; as not to waste time on checkout.
The service at reception is also very slow not ideal if you have a plane to catch.
They really need to update the procedures and modernise, like many hotels that have express check out. If you’re here on business I wouldn’t recommend at all: the desks in the room are tiny.
I’ve been coming to Venice for 20 years and this is the most over priced and overrated place that I stayed in.
However if you love staying in posh chains and feeling superior, surrounded by ugly and soulless designer stores that you can find in any big city, but feel like: OMG I’m so excited to buy more jimmy choos!
This might just be the place for you!
And they hold a lavishly overpriced carnival ball, so you can spend thousands of all those hard earned dollars!
This is the only hotel we will use if....or should I say we go back.
Thank you
