Hotel Nazionale

Location of the hotel is of perfect distance to the train station, around 5 mins walk only which is ideal for arriving/transferring by train from/to another Italian city. If you are taking the airport bus, you'll need to cross a long bridge with stairs in order to get to the side of the station and the neighbourhood where the hotel is in, so beware.

There is also a very long staircase at the entrance before you actually get to the lobby area with lift to your room. Although staff is helpful when asked to help me with my large baggage, which I really appreciate.

The Single Room is very small, so won't be ideal for a long stay, but is still big enough for you to open a 28inches luggage fully on the floor. Toilet is very compact so if you are bigger/taller it might not be the most comfortable to use. Hot water and drainage is good enough.

Room amenities are rudimentary, without fridge or hot water boiler. Basic toiletries only like shower cap, body wash & shampoo.

One issue that I have is with the air quality in the room, it can be a bit stuffy and I started getting really bad allergies at night from the second night I'm staying with the hotel, also saw a mosquitoes flying around (but I did open the window for a little bit to let some fresh air in so maybe that's where it came from)

The hotel also has a policy that requires guests to leave your key behind every time you go out, not sure if it is the norm.

Breakfast is pretty basic but as a complimentary offering is not bad, good range of beverage especially with the coffee machines and juice dispenser. Some pastries, scrambled eggs and cold cuts, bread, yogurt etc.

The hotel is in a great location, within a 5-minute walk from Venice Santa Lucia station. It, however, is not on the canal. There are lots of eating, drinking, and shopping facilities around the property. The rooms are small but serve your purpose. The bathrooms are tiny but work out just fine. The hotel still uses the old school hardware room key, which you need to surrender when you go out and about and ask for it when you come back. The people behind the desk didn't even ask our names or check us out on the computer, so I'm not sure how safe your belongings will be when you are out and about. The hotel offers fine continental breakfast. The rooms are reasonably priced.

I recently stayed at Hotel Nazionale with my friend, and we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated. The buffet breakfast was pleasant. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. We enjoyed the island tour which was offered by the hotel staff and it was amazing.
The hotel's location is also perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area and only 4 minutes walking from the train station. Overall, my stay was incredibly pleasant, and I highly recommend Hotel Nazionale to anyone visiting Venice!

I stayed at this hotel em 2012. The breakfast was AMAZING. The rooms were ok, but until this day I think about the breakfast I had there. Thanks for the nice food guys!

My Husband and I stayed here on our trip to Venice. We did not plan or book in advance. When we got off the train and saw how busy it was we were worried that we would not find a place that was ridiculously expensive so last minute. After stopping at several hotels with no luck, we found this place.

I was the one that went in to ask if they had space and how much for the night. The desk clerk was very helpful. Even though we were walking in off the street at 7 pm, he got us a room. I was very grateful! Now the rooms are not extravagant however I was not in Venice to see the hotel.

Another amazing feature is that even after we checked out the next morning , we were allowed to check our bags with them so that we did not have to carry heavy bags while walking around. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Venice!!!!!!!!

Close to the train station so it's easy to get in and out of.
