A simple hostel, but it really checks every box you could ask for. Rooms are clean and comfortable, towels and water are refreshed every day. The breakfast is simple, but very tasty and well presented. The location is great, you can walk to most places within siemreap in less than 20 mins. The best bit, though, are the staff. They are extremely attentive and helpful. We had no issues with anything, no miscommunications, nothing was late or wrong, nothing was missed. They really run a tight ship!

The sweetest front desk ladies were so helpful and welcoming. They set up a very last minute Angkor Wat tuk tuk tour for us and even let us check out 3 hours late since our flight was in the evening. As for the room, the bed was large and fairly comfortable, the shower had hot water, and the room had a fan and air conditioning - everything you’d need. We did not have the breakfast so I can’t speak on that. Overall a good value for your money.

The guest house have very good location, it also has suitable parking areas with reasonable prices. Anyway, there's something to be updated such as towels and mattress cover is quite old.

A really nice stay. It is neat and the location is perfect. No noise and yet close to all activities/entertainment options. Staff very helpful with advice and booking activities.! Good address and definitely worth it

The KINDEST staff who accommodated my late check in and check out, assisted me booking tours, activities and transport. Simple but comfortable room with great air con and Wi-Fi. Close enough to walk to pub street, downtown, etc. but far enough to take a break from the action. I would definitely recommend!

Sam So guesthouse is a nice place to stay in the main city centre of Siem Reap. The price is reasonable and the room very clean.

Everything was ok , nice hotel, good breakfast , very kind people , too polite . Nice to go with Sam so for tourism and also too nice his wife. He also help us with some problems we had . Very recomended! Hope we can return soon ! Thanks for everything .

We were guests of Sam So and I recommend you stay in his guest House. He also took us to visit the temples of Siem Reap and proved to be a knowledgeable and very kind guide. I highly recommend you visit beautiful Siem Reap with him and stay in his guest House.

I absolutely recommend staying at Sam So's Guest House in Siem Reap. The owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people in the world! As a guide of the Angkor temples, he is very knowledgeable, friendly and knows many languages. He will make you live the best experience you can have in this wonderful place, making you discover the real Cambodian culture even with stops outside the usual tourist tours. Highly recommended!

It's lovely to stay in a Khmer owned guesthouse. It's not fancy but has everything you need and is 10-15 min casual stroll along the river on the quiet side to Old Market/Pub Street and the area it is in is quiet at night (a huge plus in Siem Reap). We slept really well here, it has a calm energy.
Mrs. Sotheavy (on front desk) was extremely helpful and full of good, easy to understand information. Gave us great recommendations including for the small local restaurant around the corner (20m away), great recommendation for massage (also locally owned), organised bus tickets etc. She also organised a very good rental motorbike at short notice, we were pleasantly surprised (we've rented some really bad ones in Cambodia).
It was great to meet Sam So and we wish them all the best for these post COVID times.
As someone who works in tourism I've visited SR many times and stayed in many different places and this one I highly recommend for an ethical budget traveller.
