Hotel Palazzo del Mare - Essenza

Our room was in the basement as are 4 out of only 10 rooms in this hotel. The room had a teriible stench of mold, which is obvious health risc.

When we arrived late at night, the manager demanded that we pay for the whole stay in advance. Then he gave us the key and quickly left. As soon as we entered the room (in the basement without any windows), we knew we had been scammed.

Next morning we kindly asked for another room, or we would cancel and demand a refund for the remaining two days due to the fungus. The manager flaty refused, because then the hotel would lose (our) money. In other words they would rather steal our money. And they did. We left after the first night as we would not risc our well-being.

The manager and staff even acknowledged the fungus and claimed it would be the same anywhere around Kotor Bay. But we easily found another much better place without any problems.

Don't go to Palazzo del Mold unless you want to put your health at risc, your vacation ruined and/or lose your money!

PS: the exterior and the view from the hotel is super (if you are not in the basement) and the rooms have a nice decor. But what good is it, when it is unbearable to stay and sleep in a room filled with mold and fungus?

Arrived and had a number of staff just blankly stare at us. The breakfast room is really cramped and the reception desk takes most the space. There was one helpful staff member the rest weren’t friendly at all.
The pool ladder was completely unsafe, so pregnant women and children beware. I did tell staff, they were completely disinterested.
Theres no access to water, u have to pay and the air con system is confusing.
The beach bar is similar with a very cold and unwelcoming service. Also no food in the outside beach bar. Surely offering a club sandwich isn’t difficult??
When I ordered taxi via the reception desk, they took a cut from the taxi driver so the prices are higher.
We were really disappointed in the quality of service. Feels like a money grab rather than an attempt at a nice hotel.
With the location and the nice space outside it could of been a slam dunk.
We won’t be back and will make sure we share our experience with people considering this hotel.

Absolutely not a 4 stars hotel
The room was in front of the kitchen on the ground floor so we were woken up at 7.30 am.
The room wasn’t cleaned during the day
The place where you take your breakfast is the same as the entrance so not cosy at all
The swipe card key of the hotel didn’t work so they gave us a key that we had to leave at the reception each time we went out. One evening we arrived to take the key but there was no one at the reception.
When we asked to clean the room, we came back and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned.
The second night when we went to bed there was loud music coming from the reception that the employees had put on
