The Shang here is a classic hotel with the full suite of services such as a spa/sauna as well as amenities like an impressive gym, in-room bathtub and separate shower etc

The room was clean, and the service was excellent. The front desk staff could communicate in English and were very patient and helpful with any questions or issues I had.

However, upon returning that evening, the hoodie was missing. At the same time, one of the two hotel bathrobes originally in the wardrobe was also gone. I immediately reported this to the reception

Throughout the process, there was no clear investigation procedure, written response, or proactive assistance. Instead, the communication repeatedly implied that the issue might have been the guest’s responsibility

When I followed up the next day, other reception staff said they had no record or handover of the incident and asked me to wait until the same staff member returned in the evening. Only then was the CCTV reviewed

This approach lacked transparency, accountability, and basic respect for a paying guest. Based on this experience, I strongly advise future guests to take extra care in securing their personal belongings

On the third day, due to very cold weather, I wore other coats when going out. I can confirm, based on all photos taken that day, that the hoodie was not taken out of the room

I love this hotel, if ever i will go back again to Mongolia i will stay here again. This is one of my most memorable trip, also love the breakfast buffet but kindly add more options

Had a good stay n felt comfortable. It's good value for money. The name of the hotel alr makes it great staying there.

We enjoyed the hotel very much. We didn't have hotel breakfast since it's very close to Emart. There's no concierge, which is the only inconvenience we had.

Nice hotel in the heat of Ulaanbaatar. They are one of the very old well maintained hotel. Everything was nice during my stay except they missed to do room service and it seems like a oversight by the service incharge

Clean, modern design rooms, comfy beds and amenities. Excellent views of UB and mountains from higher floors. Friendly and efficient staff helped with every need I had. Wonderful stay, and I would certainly stay again

Had a great time on christmas day with my family.

Stayed here for a few nights at the end of May. We were previously in the Ibis, but moved due to the location. Traffic is so bad in the centre, that anywhere that's centrally located is a must for tourism

You're literally 5-10 mins walk from the main square and Shangrila complex. Didn't use the hotel restaurants or breakfasts etc as we prefer to go local when we're away

Am dropping a star for the service in Biere house (first floor). Service there is really poor and unfortunately a let down from the professionalism shown in the hotel

It was unclean. 2 adults 1 towel 1 toothbrush 😝.

The shower button could not switch, but when someone helped it was a great shower, water pressure. Location is not that beautiful but it had a good sauna, small swimming pool and a good small gym

The hotel is very unique and in a good location. The front desk guy is very friendly and can speak some simple Chinese. The room is clean and tidy, and the bed is very comfortable. Overall it's OK.

The young man spoke no English and would have left us there if the French chef hadn't chanced along and organised a change of room. Final room was not very clean but at least the door and lights worked

We stayed at the one in the city. The rooms were nice and spacious. The service at the front desk is good. The breakfast is OK. Not much variety. The wifi is really good here.

The rooms are a little tired (carpets for example), but the beds are comfortable; WiFi is strong and consistent and it is generally quiet. They will be renovating the lobby at the end of October which could make it noisy

I have stayed here on several occasions for both short stays (a few days) and a longer stay (4 weeks). As other reviewers have stated, it is very accessible to downtown stores and restaurants, as well as museums

My last stay created some awkwardness regarding tipping; though I am told there is no tipping in Mongolia, the drivers and porters appear to expect one

And of course, as others have indicated, the free breakfast is very good. Cappuccino and lattes used to be complimentary , but there is now a charge

The staff are very friendly (both front desk and restaurant) and they are keen to cater to visitor needs

Shower floor had not been cleaned. Hairs on floor of previous visitor. Only one towel and towel damp. When another towel was left it was also damp. Front desk staff not very helpful

Only small thing for management team, help your staff with English. Secondly, if they help a guest they shouldn't play a game, or watch a movie standing next to him. Batter it would be if they try to do small talk

The hotel's super close to the city center, so that's a big plus. Rooms are huge, cozy, and totally clean. The staff is nice too. You get what you pay for, and in this case, it's a good deal.

The hotel is in great location, really close to the main attraction. Hotel have really nice rooms, personnel try to take care of the guest. The breakfast was really good with great service

It's a little bit old fashioned but I absolutely love that. It's like travelling back in time to the soviet era. The rooms are also absolutely huge. Location is good too.

Stopped here for lunch, portion size was great and food was great. Very affordable too.

Good spa but they have a no swimwear policy for the pools so be warned! Spa is on multiple floors with small pools, gym, sauna, salt rooms and many different relaxing rooms

If you visit there , you can enjoy Fin sauna, Steam sauna, hot and cold water, pool with auto massage , thai and mongolian massage, european and asian good meal, himalayn salt relaxing room, and there is also 4 star hotel rooms, and fitness club

However, all the wet areas (pool and sauna) were split by gender (male/female separate) and you had to be naked to go in, so I gave that a miss. Annoying as it would have been great otherwise

This place is amazing! To me, it's a great spot to go alone, enjoying finnish, salt and hammam sauna, some food and some beers.They don't offer private sauna rooms for private parties, but Worth doing!

Good service, beautiful interior and exterior designs and decorations, very relaxing and overall just beautiful. Can get a bit pricy but it's totally worth it.

If you stay at hotel, you can get sale 50 percent to get Soyol wellness center, and 100 percent sale from fitness center while you are staying there :)

Clean, nice and cozy place. You could find restaurant, pool billiard, and karaoke inside the hotel. And you could find most services and top sights as it is in the city center.

We stayed there about two weeks while on a mission trip with a group of people. The rooms are large, and could use some attention, but we had nothing serious to complain about

We had plenty of space for our family of three. Breakfast is the same every day but for us vegetarians it was fine. What I really appreciated was the staff

She helped me do it, which took a while as we were commuting by Google translate. She brought us the first one, and put the charge on her card, and I paid her back. And we had a blast riding around

This hotel is an absolute hit, with large rooms, equipped with plenty of sockets, strong and fast wifi, belong staff, definitely a place to stay when on Mongolia. Very nice and much needed break from Ger camps.

The hotel is part of the Best Western franchise. It's located in a quiet neighborhood a bit away from things. The room is clean, and the restaurant has plenty of options. For a budget hotel, it checks a lot of boxes

The location was very convenient for the train and international bus stations, though it was a bit of a trek to get to town (or to Seoul St). The rooms we had (one of them a suite) were clean and very comfortable

They even let me use there hose to wash off my filthy van that was still covered in Gobie desert dust and dried mud. The only tiny draw back is that the water takes a minute or two before it gets hot

Brilliant hotel with superbly helpful staff who allowed early check-in, and looked after our bags when we went on a ger stay. A lavish breakfast was provided to set you up for the day

Went well out of there way to accommodate our every need. the deluxe room we stayed in was clean and very spacious

Tidy as long as you aren't too fussy. Shower was a 50/50 if it was hot or not. Bar underneath is good but quiet.

Don't expect much in the way of service, but one of the best outdoor decks in UB. That does make it worthwhile. Awesome for a sunset beer.

The location is right next to an eco-mart with every thing you need. But for the price paid the comfort of the room (wifi was so weak that I had to go to the corridor to catch the signal) and so on are kind of low

People are kind amd helpful, very arranging. They let me store some luggage while going to the country side and even for few hours after I did check out

The missing one star is for not gender separate toilet rooms

Great location near amusement park and multiple districts. J Hotel Korean restaurant is the best Korean Restaurant in Ulaanbaatar. Managed by a married Korean Couple. She cooks and he manages the front

How do you know if Korean restaurant is good? Easy, when you see 90% Koreans inside the restaurant eating. I came here after my friend told me that they had “naengmyeon” Korean cold noodle

Unfortunately, they were out🥲🥲🥲 instead they had bibimguksu (spicy dry version). Taste was good and the waiters talk korean (if you are korean then it would be easy for you)

Dishes are delicious and the soju is flowing. The dinning space reminds me of a small local Korean eatery in Seoul

The hotellady is very helpful and nice. The staff in hotel are willing to help you anytime. You won't find a more central hotel with moderate prices in Ulan Bator

Close to Sukhbaatar square, Seoul street and the big department store, the guesthouse is cosy and very well situated in the center. It's clean and there is a big, fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook for yourself

You can also rent an apartment from the hotellady, if you're planning to stay longer in Ulan Bator

The owner is very helpful and they also propose tours for a honest price

Maybe the most central location you can find at an affordable price. and very nice staff speaking best english in town. however don't expect the private room with bathroom to have a real bathroom

The entrance is a little run down, and could be hard to find, but my taxi guy are kind enough to help me. But the inside is pretty cozy and feels like home
