Where to stay in Ulan Bator

I pre-booked hotel car for airport and drop off by email and confirmed the departure time with the hotel receptionist again when I arrived at the hotel. However they still missed my booking. They couldn’t arrange the hotel car at the end but arrange a taxi for me. The hotel facilities are ok, but the receptionist staff is not professional.

I really dont understand their AC and ventilation system. With the AC it is too noisy to rest but without it the room has no air to breath. Also the sheets are too hard and the air is dry. Not comfy.

Perfect location with two minute walking distance of the main square. Close to other interesting places also. Clean and well maintained hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Nice view from the room. I think this is the best place to stay in Ulaan Bataar

Good place to stay. Service is good though people at the restaurant could be more proactive. We wait for 1 hour before realizing the kitchen forgot our order. Front desk guy was really nice and helpful.

I often book this hotel for professionals on first time visit and they are invariably satisfied.

Nice hotel with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Upon checking in, there was a gentleman who helped us bring our baggage to our room, which is always appreciated. The room came stocked with all the necessary toiletries and a large fridge. One sticking point for me was that we’d made the reservation for two people, which stated that breakfast was included, though we were only given one breakfast...

It has to be the best hotel in the city. It looks new and most things work. It has a great restaurant.

Convenient location, close to museums and the chenggis khan square

I had previously stayed at the ibis and decided to change to a hotel that was more downtown. The location is very good. The bed was good. Wi-Fi worked. Shower was nice. Desk staff was helpful. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

To be fair no concierge! Even they will tell you that Im not going to talk to you. Lol! Expect some 3 star services and amenities while you paying for 5 star. Lobby have that smell. Maybe toilet or sewer leak. Otherwise, location is top.

Had a great time on christmas day with my family.

Clean, modern design rooms, comfy beds and amenities. Excellent views of UB and mountains from higher floors. Friendly and efficient staff helped with every need I had. All-day buffet quite tasty. Affordable laundry service. Wonderful stay, and I would certainly stay again.

Stayed here for a few nights at the end of May. Very nice hotel. We were previously in the Ibis, but moved due to the location. Traffic is so bad in the centre, that anywhere that's centrally located is a must for tourism. You're literally 5-10 mins walk from the main square and Shangrila complex. The location of the hotel is by walking distance to attraction such as Chinggis Khan museum,Sukhbaatar square, Government Palace. Room is very spacious. Bathroom’s rainshower and headshower are excellent with strong water pressure. Highly recommended to stay at this hotel. Hotel staffs are polite and kind. Great view from the room overlooking a big local temple and houses on the hill.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was really amazed by its cleanliness! From the lobby to the room, every corner was spotlessly clean. The bed was tidy and the supplies were brand new, which made me feel very relieved. The bathroom was even brighter and there was no odor. Staying in such an environment made me feel better! I highly recommend it to friends who pay attention to hygiene~

I stayed here near Christmas, and it was a pleasant experience. We booked through their website because they had a special online reducing the price of the rooms. Our room was comfortable and looked reasonably clean. It was a bit warmer than I'm used to, and I couldn't figure out the climate controls for the room. And with the pollution in Ulaanbaatar, I found it difficult to open the window for long...

Okay hotel. Restaurant on the top floor is good. Nice view of the hills across the city, good prices and decent food. Went into the restaurant lower down but didn't stay...it looked like a staff canteen. Room was okay. Stayed in an executive room which was a good size but not well designed. Hotel is so nice & good location

Good hotel but under some maintenance work at the moment the work might finish on 1st oct 22. The rooms are good size clean and well maintained. Staff at reception speaks good English and they upgraded by room to a suite.

Staff is great. Breakfast top notch. Wifi great. Room was too warm near 30c 85F unless you open window and door for a draft.

So often stayed in this hotel on 2010 until 2011... Very good hotel...good service And good restaurant in the hotel. The hotel is also located in the Central of the capital City Ulaan Baatar... So its really good And easy tp go around for any restaurant And bar also to the any shopping center or mall.

Great location right off Sukhbataar square, friendly staff, clean and generally cosy. But they really need to deal with temperature in the rooms - e.g. I would have appreciated a way of turning down the heat instead of opening the window as it smelled of coal outside.

Good location, breakfast and dinner by Floor 2 restaurant are yummy. One dinner I was charged to room, when checking out, the hotel almost forgot to charge me. Luckily I was no cheating, paying him 26,500 local currency as the bill. Upload some pictures taken in grassland and downtown of Ulaanbaatar.

Staff tries hard to help out and they are really nice. Water cut three times within one month stay, electricity two times. Breakfast is a scam for 15$ they charge, avoid by all means.

Nice cozy rooms, not so large. Automatic Remote controlled toilet would be best thing in the Bathrooms. Breakfast is very limited. They just serve you a plate with some meat on it. 1/2 type of bread, salad, milk, coffee and juice.

they put a lot of effort into the property even if it is a bit on the older side. there are toothbrushes, bath gowns and a full mini bar. the furniture is lovely and very Mongolian antique. Staff was very nice and carried my bags up. It was clean

Attended wedding there, service was okay, the waiter forgot to serve some of the ppl in my table. But they were flexible enough to cook vegan food for me which was okay.

Just stayed in the NewWest hotel 2 days. Reception said that they upgraded the room facilities and the service were perfect. I love the hotel service, specially reception. Their English were perfect and i think some reception know Russian, Japan too. If you staying around this area this hotel could be your best choice. Specially for the foreigners. Thank you.

Little expensive but not bad service

it's clean and tidy and staff are pretty friendly. The rooms are decent and it has some restaurants not far away.

That pillows are too small. The breakfast is modest enough. The are some sewage sounds in the rooms. The checkout time 10 am is out of the acceptable things.

Rooms are affordable and cheap if you compare other nearby options. The rooms has all facilities which someone needs. Most of the option is self service like breakfast and laundry. If you are on budget this is really best available. There are nearby supermarket and restaurants so this location is very good.

You can ride a bus to Chinggis Khaan international airport even if you don’t stay at the hotel. (But I recommend to contact with hotel staff in advance.) Service is so good.

I stayed at the ibis because I was looking for an international hotel. The hotel was nice. The area the hotel is in is still significantly under development. So there didn’t appear to be a lot of options for going outside and eating. Therefore, I went to the hotel restaurant, which was quite nice. Food was good price was reasonable. Nice hotel, not the best view but nice

Some faraway from the UB city centre, breakfast is poor for 4 star hotel i think. Room Service is fine, Burgers are tasty.

The hotel staff were very kind and I was very satisfied. During my stay, there was an unexpected accident with the room I had originally planned to stay in, but the front desk staff handled the situation and even upgraded me to a different room. I am very grateful that they responded with a smile to my poor language skills. The view of the city from the room was also great. I would like to stay here...

This Ibis is much better than the ones I stayed in China and Korea. The room is big and clean. The waiter speaks good English and there is no communication barrier. The only problem is that the breakfast is room service. The variety is not rich enough, but the taste is good. There is a pedestrian street next to it, where you can eat and drink.

Wonderful staff. I'm very grateful to the young bulky Mongolian guard (whose name, unfortunately, I haven't asked), he was really welcoming and helpful. And the rest of the stuff (including the Russian-speaking manager/owner?, who let me take the towel and the flip-flops) were really good to me as well. The only downside I can think of is some not very pleasant nightclub/karaoke in the same building...

Under the 21 days state Covid quarantine. Room decoration and furnitures are fine, just standard. But room is veeeery cold, not comfortable, there is no heat in the end of september, also only few tv channels.

Pleasant and clean place for sauna. Also price is very reasonable compared to other saunas in UB. I liked the indoor plants there so snapped one pic :)

Souna Korean restaurant is on the way to Tarjee sightseeing spot and the room is big and good

1. Though, the price is not cheap compared to other local saunas, there is not any drinking water and body scrubber. At least, should provide 800ml bonaqua water, and body scrubber which was selling as 5000 tugrik. 2. This place is amazing! To me, it's a great spot to go alone, enjoying finnish, salt and hammam sauna, some food and some beers.They don't offer private sauna rooms for private parties, but Worth doing!
