Love the cleanliness of the rooms and towels. Although our room had a discernible cigarette smoke odour upon checking in, the housekeepers were quick to help freshen up the air. That solved the problem immediately and we were grateful for the prompt response. Front desk was attentive and even followed up to ensure the problem was resolved. Kudos to the team for doing this. At check in, the team member...
Room is spacious and cleanliness although the cleaning is taken place alternatively. But you can request amenities anytime between 8am to 8pm. You may expect the service is abit slow but steady. The location is the best in George Town as you go North East South West you can still visit night market. Ideally located and convenient. Distance walk though.
Room is okay, good service from the staff especially the security at main entrance. Very helpful. Strategic location where you can easily get Grab whenever you want. Very near to tourist spot, food place and mall. Great facilities, got infinity pool, however the view from pool not really great. Housekeeping service can be improved. The do not clean room everyday due to alternate day housekeeping....
Comfortable stay and I loved the decor in their bathrooms as well! They had a false ceiling light which gave a very cosy feeling. Staff was friendly and helpful! They have free parking even for rented cars, do note that the car park lift is separate from the hotel lobby lift. Convenient location as well! It's on the left side of the road and quite near the traffic so you gotta cut lanes quite quickly
Stayed for five days. Overall a great experience. Receptions are super polite and accommodating for all of my needs, housekeeping doing a good job. Breakfast and in-dining are delicious. Loves their omelette and salmon. Pool with city view, relaxing. Superb location. Recommended and would stay here again.
The hotel was very reasonably priced compared to other hotels in Penang and the rooms was well kept and clean and breakfast was excellent. Would recommend to anyone who wants a good place to stay at very reasonable pricing.

Nice hotel to stay in city area. Service is excellent. Has swimming pool, separate ladies and gentlemen jacuzzi, sauna, kids club, fitness. Room is big and clean. Air conditioning is good. Breakfast menu is good. Worth the price staying here.
The hotel and the rooms overall looks dated but clean. Staff service was at par with the usual 4/5* rating. Most of them are able to speak in English. Location is great with many local food available with ½ km and malls as well. This is the ideal location. For a holiday. The only strange thing was that housekeeping claimed they do not allow guests to borrow knives.
Ample of parking lots at multi storey parking at the back of hotel . Swimming pools for family. Sauna, jacuzzi (hot and cool) and steam room. (Separate for male and female) and children are not allowed to use these facilities. Two nicely painted tennis courts available. Cool kids room. Drink at the freezer is free to consume. Clean room with cool air con. TV a bit old and not many channels available...
Pretty old but bang for your bucks. The best hotel I've stayed in Penang so far. Great to bring elders and older adults to stay in. + Cleanliness is great + Room is huge + Heaps of Complementary drinks + Breakfast is good, worth the price. + Great location. Great hotel. Clean and excellent services from check in to checkout. Room requested for higher floor at 1219 is spacious, clean and excellent facilities. Love the breakfast and where else can you get free apples daily with complimentary mini bar. Location is perfect and gym facilities is great too
Attended a wedding dinner at the ballroom. Chinese course dinner is very nice. Service is good and staff are courteous and helpful. Wheelchair friendly. Parking lots available both outside and inside the gotel building.

This budget hotel is clearly very clean and comfortable to stay especially the room. The lobby is also very welcoming. The view of of the hotel was very decent but I would say the distance were very strategic. To all staffs, you guys are very indeed warm and professional. Appreciate for the excellent guest service. Thank you for your hospitality. I will definitely come again to Tune Hotel Georgetown...
The room is neat and clean. Convenient location to walk the tourists places. The price is reasonable. But the charging point in the room is old and don’t fix with my adapter. Need to borrow from the receptionist. Overall good . Staff is friendly especially Divannath is friendly and polite.
The hotel doesn't has a drop off/pick up area, and it allows the travel bus to unload it's passengers in front of the hotel, blocking the traffic. The bathroom's shower head kept leaking every 5mins even though it's turned off nicely. Toiletries are not included, drinks like coffee/tea is not included as well, which is very inconvenient. Parking is not included which needs extra payment.
The room very neat. Toilet shower room very clean. We check in with very nice room view. Kudos to housekeeping for their touch. We really enjoy our stay. Bed superb comfy. Hotel near with a lot of interesting place to visit. Food? Nice guys!
We stayed at Tune Hotel for 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay. The room was small but perfectly clean and modern. The bathroom too. Cozy bed, good WiFi, complimentary shampoo & soap, AC + fan and even a safe. We got fresh towels and complimentary water bottles every day. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. It's impossible to complain about anything.
Room is tidy n clean. The size of room is small but it's just nice for 1 night stay. Check in process is speedy and there is no deposit required which really save time in check in and check out. Something surprising is once 12pm sharp for check out, the electricity in the room will auto-cut off. It is 👋 good.

It's a pretty good hotel, close to shops and an easy drive to all shopping centres. Food is great both close and far.
Location is perfect for me as it is located in the city, easy to travel around. Staffs are polite and friendly. Room is cozy and I'm so lucky to get a room with perfect view of the whole city. However, during night time, it would be difficult to drive out as there are food stalls nearby which block one end of the road, also cause the road to be congested.
Room was clean and comfortable with full amenities. The service of the staff was excellent. Even the female guard taking care of the parking was so friendly and helpful. But the buffet breakfast was so so. Needs a lot of improvement in terms of variety and flavor. The street food in Lorong Baru was just beside the hotel. If we go back, we would definitely skip eating in the hotel. Other than the...
The hotel is 3 star... The staff are really friendly and helpful, the room was adequate. Breakfast was not that good. Ok I get it I am European but a household toaster, instant coffee were just not enough. The location alone warrants a mention right next to the food / restaurant area...
Great hotel. Kind staff. Very clean hotel. The room and corridor carpets are getting old. But no complaint about the cleanliness. There is a breakfast buffet which costs around 50RM plus. The hotel has a free shuttle service to some of the tourist spots. You can prebook.
Great hotel!! Good location, near Komtar and on the doorstep of street food on some nights. Rooms were clean, all classic amenities are available. There is an equipped gym and a nice swimming pool with a jacuzzi. The breakfast was alright, choice is limited, the staff operating the breakfast were pretty lazy, they let items run out and were slow to refill them. Wonderful stay in this hotel where l can shop till I drop in Prangin Mall, and The First Avenues which are walking distance. Jen Cafe during breakfast was very busy. The only disappointment was that vegetarian options provided are very limited.
Great hotel and the service is great, would have preferred to be placed in a better room as there was some maintenance works going on (a new bathroom being fitted) which meant there was drilling going on for 2/3 hours from mid day which was hard with a 4 month baby. The after care from the house keeping team was amazing Imah was really helpful in shipping out some left behind items and very attentive...
Pro: superb location, all within walking distance, no issue in findings place to eat. Suitable for families. great vibe. Cons: may need to update the policy rather than a blanket policy by Shangri-La (preference was ask but the options was not even available to begin with in Jen). More meticulous with customer preference and request.
This hotel is amazing. I stayed in the club family room with my staff for team building. Check-in was smooth in the club lounge, and the staff was very helpful in renting a meeting room for the seminar. It was not a smart TV, so there was no mirroring, but they helped me print out the PDF file with a printer. The cocktail hour was full of snacks and alcohol to keep me occupied. The breakfast was great...
Not the most newest hotel in Georgetown but it still holds for being situated at a convenient, secure location; just walk behind the hotel to a variety of food markets, restaurants, heritage sites and tourist spots. This old hotel is strategically located the food paradise, accesing nearby food within walking distant. Room is spacious, upgraded 2HP AC, very cold. Toilet and Hot water OK juga. Bed only o so. Twin sharing can order extra bedding and it is still averagely good. But, it is economical, especially for outstation duty for 1 or 2 nights that can accommodate to my hi top van to park at outdoor parking
Rooms a bit old but its clean and spacious, comfy for family. Great counter service, very friendly. Location superb, can walk to tour attractions. Parking so easy and within the compound of the hotel.
This is honest review. The location is PERFECT, have minimart and drug store inside. But the room, let say very old but spacious, amenities are complete. But noise could travel into your room. Service was excellent. Value of money, great. But if you seeking comfort bed, this hotel is not for you.
Good hotel place to stay. Spaceous big room. 3 person room. Everthing is ok. Animeties are provided. Price for the room affortable. Will stay again next time if in penang. No complain.
Rooms are already old, but overall still okay Breakfast menu can be improved Hot water for bath seems to be limited, around 11-12 pm already not hot enough. All staffs are friendly and helpful
My parents and I like to stay at Red Rock Hotel. There is mini mart and wellings pharmacy next to the reception. So It actually is very convenient. The location is great, rather central in Georgetown and many of the food spots we wanted to visit were within walking distance from the hotel. There is also a huge mall nearby. The room was clean and serviced daily. It is located on a quiet street so there wasn't much traffic noise even though we were on a low floor.
Need an email for contact information. Some of the rooms are next to a tyre fitting shop and this can be quite disturbing if one is late waking up. Rooms have poor phone reception. room was generally ok. well maintained for an old establishment. water temperature was a little erratic though. no hot water sometimes. other than that great location, walking distance to most places within Georgetown.
Our room was extremely big and it was really clean . The only down side is , since it is a boutique hotel, the insulation is not that great and you can hear people walking around up stairs . But overall it is perfect . Location is also good and easy to get around .
It's a nice place located at the heart of Georgetown. Very close to many hawkers' spots. We enjoyed the beautifully decorated room very much, especially the jacuzzi. I think the room is value for money given the size and the room comes with complimentary breakfast too!
We stayed at Hotel Penaga for 5 nights. The staff are super friendly and helpful and it's in the heart of Georgetown so really close to top tourist attractions. The aesthetic and architecture is really nice however I'm disappointed to say the hotel didn't live up to the photos and 4 star rating. We got ourselves a two storey family terrace with an outdoor private jacuzzi in the backyard. Very good ID and spacious. But the building was a little bit rundown. We arrived at this 1926 Heritage Hotel and found our way around the arrival hall to get to the reception located at the side entrance to check in. Athough our room has been renewed but it still shows signs of a poorly restored job. The housekeeping staff should remove the beds to vacuum and mop the floor underneath them. The hotel certainly needs a decent refurbishment to bring it back to its heyday...
This one of a kind hotel is unique. The architecture is from the British Colonial. It's old but they are trying to keep it the way it was during it's hay days. They have done a marvelous job. Cheap but the customer service is so awesome!! The vibe so warm. If the swimming pool can open from 7am -10pm, it will be the best
Environment verry Heritage & Style. Clean in overall. Swimming pool not to small but Ok for kids enjoy the pool. Easy Parking because can park near room.
The name explains that it is a heritage building n you will expect an old building. Wooden floor but comfortable. No astro & fridge for room 242. A bible in the drawer. Anyway it is worth it for us.

All rooms are unique in their own way and reflect the U.N.E.S.C.O World heritage buffer zone preservation system Penang has become famous for. Great staff, and management, lovely breakfast and housekeeping. All facilities work well and the building is highly maintained. Bring some wine and a book and step back in time.
Multiple weeks spent here in May 2023. Room was a top floor spacious room with a king size bed with lots of pillows. Heritage hotel using a revamped bungalow. Nice makeover and good location with some free parking. Walkable to nearby tourist areas. The room we had does not have any chair and no hooks for hanging clothes.
I stayed there for 3 days in September-19 in the single studio. Best thing about it are the staff that are so helpful giving you everything you bed and giving you good tips on effete to stay. Jealous of good good stalls just a walk away. I did find the hotel itself is a bit aged. The hot water was not very consistent. For the money paid i think ours ok.wouldn't say the best value for money.
First, i book this hotel at one of online travel site. Saw all the photo at the site and look very good. When i arrived, i was shocked with the hotel, and my expectation drop, because the hotel look far from my expectation from outside, but after i go in to the reception area, my view slightly change. and when i go to the room, the room look so glamorous. It's not too bad for its price range. Bed is decent. However, upon entering the room, there is a very pungent smell. No towels and no toilet paper. Had to request and wait quite a while for them. Could very audibly hear foreign workers chit chatting and laughing loudly 6am in the morning, which wasn't pleasant either. Other than that, it's not too bad for single person staying for one night.
Situated in George Town, Penang, named a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO since 2011. This late 19th-century colonial-style house embodies a modern Victorian concept & elements of Van Gogh’s theme.
The room was very comfortable, super clean and the TV worked perfectly. I really liked that the make the room everyday and restock all the bathroom amenities. The staff is super attentive and nice. Good location easy to get uber. Definitely I would stay again.

Room was clean but had a smoke smell that filled the air, even though we got a non-smoking room. There were some cigarette ashes found in the toilet bowl. Basically stayed there for the price.
Affordable budget hotel. Surrounded by Indian restaurants and mini marts selling Indian spices. Theater and 99 mart nearby. A few mamak stalls selling tasty chicken/lamb soup and of course famous for their nasi kandar with the locals. The hotels need to be spruced up a bit and cleaned.
Nice place to stay but limited parking space especially on weekend. Price is good. If you proposaly staying here then you need to pay the toll fees to get here generally. Cleanliness is good. but the air cond is basically not so cool even you set to highest.
The price is cheap. Very close raja uda where you can get a lot of food by car. Recommend to book an non windows facing room as there is a hindu temple next to it and it will rings the bell in early morning.
Booked it randomly on the road and it turned out to be a good steal and great place to stay overnight. They got very comfortable, clean and cozy bed and bathroom in their room. Well maintained common area. Car parking was totally free. Access to Penang Jetty is very easy and near from this hotel. Very friendly staff ? If you got plans to stay in Butterworth for a day or two; do check it out.
For short stay, simple, helful, clean buget. Easy for travel is quite near to ferry terminal ETS, bus station. But the toilet the door easily open no other door to lock.no privacy.

This is an excellent hotel in the heart of Little India. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. I couldn’t fault this place in any way.
To sum it up, this is an exceptionally warm and charming hotel that I would highly recommend. East Indies Mansion is a beautifully converted hotel from a house with over two hundred years of history, and the building itself carries an incredible sense of heritage. Our four-day, three-night stay was not only comfortable but also incredibly heartwarming. Although I typically stay at five-star hotels...
The setting is like staying in a well-kept museum with beautiful common areas. The room itself was in our case more standard, but the service is beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. We cannot recommend it enough and were sincerely sad to leave the place after only three nights.
This place was amazing. You can read others review and this place was exactly what they said about how gorgeous this heritage boutique hotel was.
