Red Rock Hotel Penang

My family had been staying at Red Rock for multiple times during its heyday in the1990s. It was good then. However we were very disappointed when we checked in on 15th May into room 800. The bedsheets were not fresh and pillows smelled of sweat. Behind the beds where there were long flourescent lights was a thick layer of dust. Cupboards were chipped. Kettle gave particles when we boiled bottled drinking water. Cups were stained badly. Toilet cover was turned leaving rough patches of plastic. Shower head was damaged and most gritty thing was .....my towel has a blood stain. Come on Red Rock management please buck up. By the way the lobby with No Smoking sign everywhere was smelly with cigarette odour.
Only good things were the water pressure and air cond were good.

My advice pay a bit more and stay at other hotels..
The 2 stars is for their location and friendly staff other than that its really bad. Rooms are dim , toilet was leaking and smelled weird. There were roaches in my room and luckily the reception allowed me to move to another room without any hassle. I have stayed in other budget hotels before but this was just bad. Management really needs to do some upkeep to their facilities. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Please take note it's like a budget hotel floor is sticky and dirty, washroom needs to upgrade. It's not worth the price and breakfast is not buffet it's packed and send your room. Aircorn was the worse ice cubes and water coming out from it, bed sheet and pillow is dirty.
