Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi

When we booked this resort, we booked it on the basis that it is on the beach, and it was definitely the right decision. The resort is massive, and you can easily get lost. They have golf carts to take you to your room, which was very useful, especially after a long day and you just want to rest.

In terms of the room, I would say it's more a 4*. The room we stayed in was spacious and it had a balcony with the lake/garden view. We didn't like the fact that they had the safe, cupboard, and getting ready space in the bathroom itself as it was very difficult to get ready when someone was showering, for example.

As it is a big resort, sometimes the service was a bit slow, in my opinion. Overall, I would say it is a good option if you want to have your private beach area to relax and it's in a good location from shops and restaurants. There were seating areas dotted around the resort near the beach area and some huts to give some shade from the strong sun.

Had a great stay at Pelangi for my honeymoon. The location was very good cause food options were plentiful just a few minutes walk away. They were in the midst of renovations during our stay but didn't affect us at all.

The service was amazing. They clearly place an emphasis on being attentive to guests. Never experienced service to that level.

We had breakfast at the hotel one morning, and that was a bit of a miss. But I guess you're meant to venture out to eat anyway. It was just a little underwhelming.

The room itself was spacious. Cleaned everyday which was nice. They were careful with our belongings. We were on the bottom level so we heard our upstairs guests walk a lot. I think they had kids and they were running around a lot. But it's nothing we could do really.

Loved having the pool and beach close by as well!

Beautiful resort with friendly staff in a brilliant location. Rooms are really nice with easy access to the beach and local town. Breakfast is brilliant too, although pretty much everything offered in the 'American' breakfast is available in the Malaysian one too so I'd 100% recommend you head to the latter for more choice!

Staff are very polite, attentive and helpful. Rooms are very spacious and well equipped, as some have recently been renovated. There are 2 pools, one more family friendly, the other more couple friendly (has a bar in the pool), which are very well run and staffed. Food options are good, breakfasts are very nice but dinner options can be a little limited (but still very tasty). We did have a romantic dinner on the beach one night though, which was a fantastic 6 course meal, highly recommend for a couple! We don't have kids, but it is a very family friendly resort, whilst still feeling romantic for a couple. Beaches are beautiful and not busy, a very relaxing experience overall!

We spent an amazing week here. Easy to give 5 stars review. Very friendly staff, nice room, lovely surroundings. Both breakfast spots were nice in their own way. Remember to have a drink at the pool bar, it’s a perfect way to cool off on a hot day. Check the happy hour schedule by the reception.

Great location on the beach. Short walk to the towns high street. Big kid friendly pools. Large clean rooms. Very good service - friendly place. A little maze like to get back to chalet if your not close to the main areas but really its not a big problem. Excellent hotel overall.

I couldn't rave more about this place. From the moment we stepped foot into this resort we felt welcomed & nothing was to much trouble for the staff. They were happy to help in any way they could & always had a smile on their face. The grounds are stunning & it didn't take too long to walk around from our chalet to the pools or restaurants. There was plenty of shade in the resort grounds but it would have been nice to have a little more shade over the cascade pool as that did get a little bright & warm during the day until the surrounding chalets shaded it in the afternoon. On the rainy days the staff were quite happy to drive us around in the golf buggy & there wasn't a long a wait even on really stormy days when they were in high demand. The restaurant food was delicious & reasonably priced. We found the food within the resort to be a far better quality than the restaurants out on the street, so the resort restaurants were our go to for our meals for the majority of our stay. There were also plenty of spots to sit & watch the world go by, with a cold drink available not too far away from wherever you were. There was a really lovely outdoor playground with swings & see-saws, and the dinosaur themed children's pool was utilised well by the children in the resort, and even a few adults who wanted to just sit in the shallows! To the last detail, this resort didn't disappoint. We look forward to returning back one day soon 😊
