Reviews
Our suite overlooked a canals. The hotel’s Michelin dinner was unforgettable, as was the traditional onsen spa experience.
Service was intuitive, discreet, and truly world-class. Every staff member treated us not as guests, but as honored visitors. This is more than just a luxury hotel—it’s where hospitality becomes art. Worth every yen.
Slept like a baby, loved the bathroom free standing soaking tub and the amenities, which smelled great and we're high quality.
The decor and fashion was very to my taste. Many options to sit in the room, big comfy arm chair, plush wall window to sit above floor lever was especially fun with morning coffee!
Really enjoyed the Julius Meinl coffee and tea offerings and complimentary water.
Great lighting and the functionality of switches and electric sockets and charging options were so thoughtful and comfortable!
Really appreciated the surprisingly silent air conditioning, and since I prefer my room mild to cozy warm than an ice box, it was simply to regulate the temp and switch it off. Good job RR.
The staff member Julia at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful, especially with the shoe sponge mission and laughs handling. Shout-out to her. Made me feel I'd like to come back.
And of course location, in my favourite very heart of old town Gdansk. Doesn't get any better for me! A definite highlight.
Cool idea on the Neon too.
I recently joined the Radisson membership program, so I'll be looking forward to exploring more from them.
Things to Improve on:
For sure a breakfast area dedicated to the hotel building instead of the WITJ restaurant would make it complete. Also isolated lobby and reception space without toilets shared with WITJ would make it feel more intimate and pro hotel guests.
Regular or more frequent maintenance and check up of the coffee machine and bath tub would prevent it from making tiny swimming pools in the room.
A shiny polished exterior window would allow to enjoy the view of Gdansk fully. I'm looking forward to that next time.
Over all, I had a very nice experience and enjoyed my room to the fullest. A solid 4 stars ⭐ with room for improvement!
To me, a sexy cool hotel vibe yet cozy and warm at the same time.
Easy access to the main area of Gdansk
Parking is expensive at the hotel
I'd recommend parking opposite the hotel
You think you can comfortably go from your room to the pool, but it isn't the case, you have to go by street to the other building!
You have to pay for use the pool and sauna and it is ridiculous expensive (around 23 euros each 1,5 hours, Beg. March 25 quotation), specially considering that their nights are really above average from the area and the city.
Only in the small letters it is written that you pay for the pool.
Don't book here!
No breakfast, i was assured i could walk to radisson near by. But you have to pay 90zl
No swimming pool as shown in pictures. You have to pay for a day access.
No shower. Impossible to have a shower with their bath setup. Water goes everywhere nowhere to hand the shower head. Best part i cant even stand because my head hits the window.
Horrible smell of smoke in the corridor. During my whole stay.
The staff tries to be nice but turns nasty whenever you ask for something. Very immature reception staff.
The location is great. But it doesnt make the stay better.
Run.
The location is great indeed. You're in the middle of it but it's still quiet there. You can walk to almost every interesting place within minutes. That is amazing. Same goes for the staff that is trying hard and is really kind.
But: why would you book a suite with a kitchenette? Exactly my thought: to use it. Which is not easy when the kitchen comes with: nothing. Yes, there is the usual small capsule coffee machine and two cups for coffee, two small spoons and some teabags. But that's it. No other utensils (not even dish soap and a sponge or rug) are provided in the kitchenette you booked and paid for. What to do? Well, this must have been a misunderstanding, right? Who'd rent out a room with a kitchen but absolutely no kitchen utensils? So down to the reception to ask for that stuff. It was around 9pm, we brought some food from the city and were hungry and looking forward to cook and eat.
What happened then was...well....new to me, especially given the price point of that hotel. We were asked what we would need, told them that there is nothing and we could AT LEAST use two bowls, two big spoons and something to use to actually cook....we got exactly what we asked for: two bowls, two big spoons and a small pot. That was it. And don't think we got it that evening, no. It took them until the next morning to provide that. We didn't go to bed hungry but having cereals from a small coffee cup with a small spoon...that's more of a refill marathon than it is a dinner. It's definitely not the romantic "cooking together" and "have an enjoyable dinner" you're looking for.
Since it took them ages to provide the minimum we asked for, it seems like it wasn't a misunderstanding or single mistake, that is obviously how they work in this hotel.
One day later we asked for dish soap since we didn't plan on using these two bowls again uncleaned. Again: a couple of hours later we could pick that up at the reception. Not a proper dish soap but a simple drinking glass half full of dish soap. The two wine glasses we asked for too were obviously picked up by other guests at the reception and from this point on we just didn't want to ask for every single kitchen untensil anymore.
This was a very new and very unique experience for us. There was a reason we picked a 4 star hotel and a room with a kitchenette. How can the management of a 4 star hotel in Europe decide to rent out rooms with a kitchen and provide no kitchen utensils? And how is it possible that when a guest asks for utensils they only get 2 bowls, 2 spoons and an old pot after hours. Why do guests have to pick that up at the reception? Maybe I'm crazy or "snobby" to expect them to immediately bring a full kitchen utensils set for 2 persons so their guests can use what they paid for.
Another thing that I just checked again: the "marketing" on booking is quite misleading, so don't fall for it. Under "Most popular facilities" it lists an indoor pool (shown on the pictures too) and a Spa....both are actually not in this hotel but another Radisson around 200m away. For an extra charge. If you check booking for frequently asked questions about this hotel ("Travelers are asking") they even answer the questions "Is the swimming pool/spa open?" with "There's a swimming pool/spa or wellness center at Radisson RED Gdansk"....which is simply NOT true. A pool and a spa around the corner with an extra charge even for the pool is like saying I have an indoor pool at home that turns out the be the public indoor pool around the corner from my home that comes with a charge.
Highly disappointing
Good location, pleasant pool and sauna (although the temp was only 72deg C), steam room and jacuzzi.
