Great location! The hostel has a kitchen for self-catering and even offers free coffee. Since some guests stay long-term, the kitchen can get busy, so it's best to use it at the right time. The toilets and showers were clean, and the staff always keeps everything tidy. My personal favorite was Dante, the dog-he's big but very well-behaved!

I honestly have no idea how this hostel has over 4 stars, because it’s the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve already been to at least 60 hostels. Habitat Hostel is extremely small and has only one single bathroom for the entire place, which alone already makes the stay completely unacceptable. Even with cleaning, the bathroom is constantly in poor condition simply because too many people use it. One of the biggest problems is that many older men actually seem to live at the hostel and end up taking over both the kitchen and the common areas. Because of that, using the kitchen is nearly impossible. It’s very small, the fridge is always messy and dirty, and these long-term guests occupy the space almost all the time, leaving everything untidy. Food also frequently gets stolen from the fridge. Another issue is that the hostel is mostly filled with older men, which isn’t ideal for solo backpackers, especially women. I often felt unsafe and uncomfortable during my stay because of their behavior. There’s also no real backpacker vibe. Guests are noisy at all hours, both day and night. To make things worse, I witnessed moments when the owner (a man) was extremely rude and disrespectful toward one of the staff members/volunteers who was cleaning. I do not recommend this hostel at all. There are much better options in the city. Even though the prices are low, it’s simply not worth it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10

Habitat Hostel Belgrade – what an absolute gem!
This place has such a warm, community vibe – everyone’s friendly, open, and it’s super easy to connect with other travelers. The owner and manager are incredibly kind and welcoming, they really make you feel at home from the first minute.

There’s everything you could possibly need: a nice balcony to chill, a washing machine for just 5 € (which is amazing for backpackers!), and plenty of cozy spaces to hang out or work. The whole place is clean, comfortable, and full of positive energy.

If you’re staying in Belgrade and want a mix of comfort, good people, and genuine hostel spirit – this is the place to be.

Pretty decent place overall, but the staff were incredibly outstanding. Helped to locate a lost passport of our group, then again helped us call a taxi to make our bus in time. 11/10 service, could not recommend enough.

Absolutely awful experience.

Most the people at this hostel live here permanently, and their belongings take up the entire room. The guy has a whole computer setup with two screens, and was up until 6am working. I requested a lower bunk but was still given a top. The woman below me must be at least 80. She kept turning the room light on at all hours, and making loud noises constantly.

There are two bathrooms for all the guests, and they are always occupied with a queue. There must be at least 30 people packed into this small apartment. There is no space and no privacy. The smokers on the balcony let all the smoke flow into the kitchen, which is already overcrowded and gross. The kitchen sink was covered with a “don’t use” sign.

There is a big dog that blocks the narrow hallways and smells disgusting. The staff member (man) was so rude and unfriendly every time he spoke to me. Payment was cash only even though everywhere else in Belgrade accepts card. Honestly my worst ever hostel experience. Please don’t stay here.

Great hostel! Made our stay in Belgrade. Super nice staff and the cutest dog. We felt very welcome and at home here and wish we could have stayed longer. Very social and nice atmosphere a great place to meet other travellers. Could not recommend enough!

Great hostel in the city center, just a few minutes walking from the main attractions. The rooms are nice and specious. Beds are fine and towels are provided. There is a living rooms which makes the hostel has a really nice "home" feeling. After a night out you can hang around and watch a movie or so.

Another good thing is the staff, owner and Dante. They make sure you have the best time during you stay. The have welcome and goodbye shots. Help you to find your way around and are always in for a good conversation during the day/night.

The hostel has a small kitchen were you can prepaid your own meal. But if you want to go out for dinner, ask the staff were to go as they can point out were you can have the best meal. When the staff is free they often take you along to their favorite places so you will feel home away from home.

Will come again!

Clean and nice place in a decent area. Bedroom was decent but had no A/C which apparently has been left unrepaired for months. Had to keep the door open due to the heat but got quite smokey as it was right by where everyone smokes. Also only 2 bathrooms between maybe 20-25 people so sometimes was waiting for a while. Includes large locker for free in the room. Definitely worth for the price
