Seashell Resort Koh Tao-SHA Plus

Me and my family booked 2 triple rooms and both rooms where double.

We contacted the manager to change the room and he told us TO LEAVE if we were not fine with at.

I then contacted Agoda for help...should I even mention that they were useless? They did literally zero to help.

So we found ourselves with 2 double room paid for 6 people and nobody could care less.

We asked at least to have amenities (towels, water,...) for 6 people, but they just kept ignoring us.

The behaviour of this management is unacceptable, they clearly admitted to be selling us a product (room) that wasn't anything close to the description in the website agency.

They knew during New Year we had no choice than accepting this situation as the island was fully booked. Another abuse of power.

Location of the hotel is good, nearby the beach with a nice terrace. That being said, old rooms, very hard bed and the room was overwelmed by musquitos. If you are going for a peacefull night, I wouldnt book a room there.

Don’t stay here if you want to sleep. Seriously loud PUMPING music pounding through the room until the early hours of the morning. I stayed in one of the most expensive rooms hoping for a luxury experience and it was far from it. By the way it was over £100 a night which in Thailand generally gets you a very decent standard of accomodation. Mosquitoes everywhere, old and dirty room and staff couldn’t care less about you or your issues with the room. Would’ve accepted the poor condition of the room if I didn’t have to also endure hours of waiting for the absolute racket to stop outside. AVOID TRUST ME

DO NOT DO LAUNDRY HERE!

I dropped my laundry off on Sunday evening and they told me to pick it up the next day at 8pm. I arrived the next day at 8:30pm and it wasn’t ready yet. No problem, luckily I wasn’t in a rush. They said to come back at 8am the next day, so I did. It STILL wasn’t ready! They said to come back at 9:30am, it wasn’t ready until 9:40am.
THEN come to find out half of the clothes were very damp and the other half were missing! When I returned to ask about them, they said they couldn’t find ANY of the 8 missing articles of clothing.
I would have saved time and money doing my own laundry.

Reception gentlemen was cold and unwelcoming. Check out time of 11 am was not extended for even an hour without 30% room tariff ! Buffet breakfast tables had ants. The staff there was either chitchatting or watching YouTube instead of checking on the guests needs. Quantity and quality of fruits was poor. Overall infrastructure, location and cleanliness was decent but way below than what you expect from a $80 per night property. So if you get it in under $40, go for it. Otherwise go for better available options.

tl;dr - place is run down, staff are rude and unhelpful, and we ended up cutting our stay short to go elsewhere.

We were looking forward to our stay based on the pictures online, but when we arrived we were disappointed. Rooms are quite run down and definitely not 3-star worthy. We stayed in the bungalow which I’m aware is the most basic of facilities, but even then it was quite bad, with exposed wires in the ceilings and a shower with bad water pressure. Thought about upgrading to a better room but the price wasn’t worth it. Also quite noisy.

They also didn’t clean between the first and second night. Just left toilet roll and two bottles of water outside in the heat.
Additionally, the staff were quite unwilling to help and very short with us. They realised they had put us in the wrong room (with aircon) and instead of just letting us keep the aircon as it was their mistake, or even just explaining that they would have to turn it off, they simply turned off the aircon slyly without saying anything. When we noticed and asked them about it, they just got very defensive and seemed to not want to apologise. All I wanted was an apology or explanation about what would happen.

After two nights stay, we decided to cut our stay short and pay a little bit extra to move elsewhere (much better value than to stay and upgrade). Only commendable part of the resort is its’ swimming pool.

I would like to preface that my girlfriend and I stayed in a bungalow and I heard some of the other rooms were nicer. However, I would not recommend staying here or in the bungalows. These rooms were clearly super dated and ours even had little openings in the ceilings. This was perfect for letting mosquitoes in. I can tell this place used to be nice, but that’s not the case anymore. Additionally, our sheets were stained and the shower on our second day had no water pressure and it was cold. The pool was green so I wouldn’t dare let anyone I care about jump in. Lastly, I am writing this review on cellular because there is absolutely no WIFI in the bungalows that works. The only upside to this place is the location…

Literally terrible do NOT book here. Turned up after a 14 hr journey for them to tell us that they had no room available for us, even thought we had booked prior and paid. Only option was for us to cancel and have our money taken away. There was at least 5/6 groups of people with same issue and left with no place to stay. Staff were incredibly unhelpful and rude.
