Seashell Resort Koh Tao-SHA Plus

.Catfished and unfriendly/unhelpful staff.
We booked seashell resort last minute as was only place left of island within our budget. While room is as described when booking, the door does not reach the floor, leaves a big gap so lots of bugs, gecko’s, mosquitoes and spiders in our room. The bed is hard as rock, very uncomfortable to sleep in. They do not leave soap, no hot water. The fan just blows hot air round the room, constantly sweating and the cleaners just left 1 spare towel outside our room for cleaning when we requested 2 clean ones and a room clean. They did not even enter our room when we requested a clean at reception. No sheets were changed, no bins emptied, no towels were removed and the floor was not swept when we arrived or when we asked for the clean. We asked at reception about an upgrade and the gentleman as reception was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, almost as if we were the one doing him a disservice by asking. The price for an upgrade was the same as we paid to stay in the first place making it double the money and was not even friendly or apologetic about it. We decided not to go with the upgrade as crazy expensive just to get a room where the door touches the floor and bed is not rock solid. Overall great location but not worth the money, would recommend a hostel on island as they seem much cleaner and receptive than seashell resort. Would not recommend

We moved from the Windbeach hotel to here. As mentioned by other hotel guests the Seashell resort is in a great location however the hotel is very run down. Showers don’t drain, sink broken and leaky underneath, lamps and pictures broken, pool water not clean. Room service was non existing and the 2 reception ppl-the older man and sturdy woman were unwelcoming and not friendly ( the only unfriendly 2 Thai ppl we met in our 4 weeks in Thailand. Oh….. and the breakfast——processed foods.
The Windbeach hotel rooms up the road were fabulous btw. We just couldn’t stay longer cos it got fully booked!

Me and my family booked 2 triple rooms and both rooms where double.

We contacted the manager to change the room and he told us TO LEAVE if we were not fine with at.

I then contacted Agoda for help...should I even mention that they were useless? They did literally zero to help.

So we found ourselves with 2 double room paid for 6 people and nobody could care less.

We asked at least to have amenities (towels, water,...) for 6 people, but they just kept ignoring us.

The behaviour of this management is unacceptable, they clearly admitted to be selling us a product (room) that wasn't anything close to the description in the website agency.

They knew during New Year we had no choice than accepting this situation as the island was fully booked. Another abuse of power.

Location of the hotel is good, nearby the beach with a nice terrace. That being said, old rooms, very hard bed and the room was overwelmed by musquitos. If you are going for a peacefull night, I wouldnt book a room there.

Don’t stay here if you want to sleep. Seriously loud PUMPING music pounding through the room until the early hours of the morning. I stayed in one of the most expensive rooms hoping for a luxury experience and it was far from it. By the way it was over £100 a night which in Thailand generally gets you a very decent standard of accomodation. Mosquitoes everywhere, old and dirty room and staff couldn’t care less about you or your issues with the room. Would’ve accepted the poor condition of the room if I didn’t have to also endure hours of waiting for the absolute racket to stop outside. AVOID TRUST ME

DO NOT DO LAUNDRY HERE!

I dropped my laundry off on Sunday evening and they told me to pick it up the next day at 8pm. I arrived the next day at 8:30pm and it wasn’t ready yet. No problem, luckily I wasn’t in a rush. They said to come back at 8am the next day, so I did. It STILL wasn’t ready! They said to come back at 9:30am, it wasn’t ready until 9:40am.
THEN come to find out half of the clothes were very damp and the other half were missing! When I returned to ask about them, they said they couldn’t find ANY of the 8 missing articles of clothing.
I would have saved time and money doing my own laundry.
