Rixos Downtown Antalya - The Land Of Legends Access

Absolutely Horrific

Me and 2 Friends booked a trip for 11 Days & I decided to book Rixos as I have stayed at their hotels in places such as Dubai where they have been spectacular. However I can’t say the same regarding this hotel.

The Hotel itself is stunning and the facilities specifically the 2 outdoor pools one for adults only as well as the beach were spectacular and the drinks service offered where you can scan a QR code was very good. However the restaurant was very hit and miss. Specific staff were very pleasant and kind however some were very dismissive and didn’t attempt to hide their discontent for having to work at the hotel which on occasion ruined the mood.

The food itself was also very hit and miss, I found myself eating Rice & Fries for most my meals with the food selection being very limited despite different themed nights. There was maybe 2-3 good nights of food during my stay. The breakfast was very disappointing, I understand it’s a very limited meal but the selection was incredibly poor and didn’t not change day to day. Specifically for someone who is allergic to eggs which made it very difficult as that was the only thing there a typical Brit would eat other than other foods. However I am very picky and others may enjoy the food.

The bar staff were mostly polite and a few individuals were very kind and the small bar next to the adult pool was almost flawless other than not measuring the amount of spirits they would put in a drink. I also speak a little bit of Turkish so I would ask the staff to only pour a small amount but other than 1 bartender no one used a measurer. The lobby bar was very good and measured.

The beach was very pleasant when you was there but the trip to it is far from pleasant. There is a rather vulgar public lift which is dirty and has smashed windows as well as homeless people loitering around in order to get to the beach. Although this can not be attributed to the hotel it is quite disappointing and during our stay the lift was out of service on one day leaving us to have to climb server flights of stairs which was very hard and may be challenging for older people or people with any form of disabilities. Although I think the hotel may run a shuttle service down to the beach but we never used it.

The Al a carte restaurant was very average and I would strongly advise against the Mediterranean unless you are specifically ordering Fish. The pasta dishes specifically risotto were horrible to be frank and the chef physically held the plate upside down and it was stuck to the plate.

The entertainment was very dull and did not change for most of our stay and for the first week there was little to nobody attending in the evenings . Definitely more enjoyable for a family.

Also the managers were extremely rude during communication.

Overall very disappointed with the trip especially considering the price. I payed half the price to stay at a hotel in Side last year and I would say that was much better value for money. The hotel is very suited to families and couples which unfortunately did not suit me and my friends.

Although this experience I’d still say I will stay with Rixos in other countries however this chain in Turkey does diminish their brand perception.

The day I arrived back in the UK I was feeling very unwell so I went to see my GP where I was told I had caught a Stomach Parasite. After this I urge everyone to not eat any of the food at this hotel. It’s been 3 days and I’m still extremely ill and awake all night and can’t sleep. Please stay away from this hotel.
