Mithra Cave Hotel

The room and breakfast were ok. Nice view from the terrace with the hot air balloons flying in the sunrise time.

However, the hotel should definitely improve their services (or staff’s language skills) as they threw my birthday cake away, which I told their staff to “keep it in the fridge” after I checked out. This was surely not acceptable at all.

My family and I stayed here for two nights, one night at a cave hotel called Kelebek and the other night at this hotel. Below are the pros and cons of Mithra:

Pros:
• The terrace is beautiful, and you can enjoy a panoramic view right outside the room.

Cons:
1. The cave room that my family stayed in had a bathroom with a bad odor, and the staff was unable to resolve this issue.
2. The internet only allows one device to connect at a time, and the speed is quite slow.
3. The ceiling in the cave room sheds small debris onto the bed (although the staff promptly sent someone to clean up after being notified).
4. Many room facilities were broken, such as the bedside lamp, and the bathtub leaks. Also, the air conditioning control is in Turkish, which isn’t convenient for international travelers.
5. The room was located directly below the restaurant, so we could constantly hear the sound of chairs scraping against the floor due to poor sound insulation.

For the same price range, I found my overall experience at the other cave hotel much better.

What I truly found unacceptable were the issues with the internet connection and the unpleasant bathroom odor, which the staff couldn’t resolve after being notified.

That said, the staff’s attitude wasn’t bad in my experience; rather, it’s the room facilities and maintenance that I think require significant improvement.

Lastly, the hotel recommends various tours upon check-in, but I suggest not rushing to purchase them right away. It’s worth comparing options on the main street, where you’ll likely find more economical choices.
