Hyatt Place Chicago-South/University Medical Center

Hat off to Mr Johnson! For our first stay in Hyde Park Chicago, we were no disappointed whatsoever. We wasn't ready for the parking situation but, we got through it because, parking in any downtown city is. Crazy these days.
Our room was pristine clean, elevator 🛗 clean, lobby area clean staff was very accommodating. We had a problem with a drunk belligerent room next door and they took care of it. The beds 🛌were comfortable the work area in the room was very adequate they had fresh OJ and apple juice with just enough continental breakfast.
It was a great stay and I was able to express my satisfaction to Mr. JOHNSON

I love coming to this Hyatt house in Hyde Park. You are away from the city but close enough to take an Uber within 10 minutes. it's also right in the middle of Hyde Park so walking distance to everything from restaurants to bars and LA fitness is right on the corner. The hotel was very clean and very quiet. They practice social distancing and you have to have a key to come in to the lobby unless you get buzzed in. I did not have to deal with many people but the ones I did were very receptive and polite. Although I did not have breakfast at the hotel I was told that they were doing to go breakfasts. Also didn't get a chance to have coffee but I noticed that the coffee pots were downstairs in the dining area. The lobby is supposed to be closed but I saw a few people sitting downstairs and I stayed down there for A little while. There is a small bar that serves a small selection of wine and beer.

Well decorated and spacious rooms. I paid extra for a "room with a view", not realizing it's only a 6 story building. So the view is meh. But it's a great location for local food and entertainment.

The room is very nice with a full sized L shaped couch and coffee table plus a desk and chair. In room refrigerator.

I was most disappointed with the breakfast. Due to COVID, they have brown bag breakfast, which consisted of a muffin, apple sauce and yogurt. I think they could have done better.

Everything was nice

Clean, spacious and affordable although Parking was extra, I didn't realize that. Souldve booked through Expedia, The location was great!

Nice clean rooms, pool and fitness room. The fee breakfast was nice. Free internet and wifi. Plenty of nice restaurants all around the hotel and movie theaters also. Great places to shop as well.

Came here with our family of 6. Loved the lobby so spacious and comfortable with many sitting areas we enjoyed many hours of cards and games with the kids. Room was nice, bath room extra spacious. The only downside to this place was the pool was small. The staff were the friendliest and most helpful I think we have ever encountered. Our stay was unbelievably comfortable. Felt like home away from home. Nice areas to eat and walk to. Great ice cream and chocolate shop right across the street.

We are in town for family medical reasons and we have been at The Hyatt on Harper for going on a week. The staff are the friendliest and helpful I have ever encountered. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone. A great place and fabulous people!
We would also like to give a big shout out to the shuttle driver Dwight!!! He was always very polite and helpful. This service was great for us and our several trips to the hospital.

I visited the hotel lobby on February 12 after a meeting nearby, wanting a place to sit and talk with a colleague. We sat at the bar and were served food and drinks by two of the nicest hotel staff - Ashleigh S. and Keith Davis. I will certainly return because of the great service and friendly conversation provided by both of them.
