Decent gym… but the hotel room was dirty. The people before me must have been hairy people because it was everywhere. The halls also needed shampooing. As for the mattress… no bugs just dirty and hairy. Also no mattress covers. Decent lobby area and good for large gatherings. The food was decent. I loved their banana pudding!
We stayed here almost a week and each day has been an amazing experience. I typically don't right reviews at hotels but I was so impressed with how well this location takes care of you even while there is several large events taking place. When we contacted the front desk at least three times they provided detailed information that was so useful and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. This...
Great views from our room. We had two adults in our room and one of the queens was more like a small double bed. It wasn’t an issue but if it were my family we would not have fit. Pillows are like clouds. My favorite part. Hotel is very clean. Easy access to the conference center or downtown. There are two restaurants and a market which has a wide selection of beverages and take and go food. The...
Awesome place. The service: Excellent. The rooms: Well appointed and meticulously clean. If you can get a room on a high floor, worth the extra money. Check out the views from my south-facing room! Not to mention the easy access to the lakefront. Went for a morning run on the lakefront. See the sunrise over the lake! Totally worth the price.
Check in process was smooth, front desk agent was very nice. Our biggest complaint with the hotel was that the pillows were so awful that it made for a poor nights sleep. I’d suggest they replace pillows immediately (this seems like such a minor thing and should be an easy fix. I wanted to knock 2 stars off for this but the rest of the hotel was great so I didn’t.) Side note - we paid for the breakfast...
Hotel was in a helpful location and was absolutely huge. Breakfast felt a little expensive for what it is.

Great spot. It was pleasant even with some exterior construction happening during the day. Nice staff. Large lounge and sitting area. Gym was excellent. Room had some dust and terrible view, but those were just unlucky things. Very happy overall.
Excellency in room maintenance and services. The most clean room and comfort beds in downtown. Hard to find a speck even in any corner of the room. Liked the all marble decor bathroom and super friendly front desk. Gotta try cheese plate for room service. 7-yrs old cheddar, brie, and goat cheese will amaze you. Although, brace yourself for daily convenience fees, front desk fee, and room service fees...
Suites are great, but the rest of the hotel rooms are median. Cleanliness and the location is optimal, but the service can be 50/50. I have been greeted and experienced excellent from housekeeping staffs, but the valet staff at the counter especially was shadowing. Overall I would try other hotel near to compare.
The hotel is great. Very classic JW hotel - old school but very well kept. Doesn’t get 5 starts because I personally like something more modern. The views are not very spectacular as you are surrounded by other tall buildings
The staff were very good. They noticed that I was limping the took the time to ask if I need any help. Then they brought up a wheelchair and move me to my room. Few minutes later a manger called me and is if I need any help. I asked for an ice pack. He came up to my room and he wrapped my foot with the ace pack. I'm so appreciative of the staff. I would definitely stay here and I highly recommend to...

I cannot say enough about this hotel, it was nothing short of amazing from the first contact i had with them to book the room, up to the minute we checked out. The staff was friendlier and more helpful than any hotel i've ever been to, the hospitality was truly above any and all expectations i could have had. There will not be another hotel i would stay at in Chicago after the great experience i've...
Everything was so perfect. The staff treats you like royalty. The rooms are in excellent shape. The rooms are also very modern. This will be my go to place whenever I come home to Chicago.
It's a grand experience. Lavish, modern and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom shower had great pressure, the toiletries were aromatic. Overall, very relaxing stay. Highly recommended!
I never stay there but whenever Janet Jackson is in town, the Peninsula Hotel is where she like to stay. And it has great! reviews and, it has a five star restaurant.
This hotel is everything they say it is. Excellent service! Everyone is willing to help. When our room wasn't ready for an early check-in, they upgraded us, and the room was phenomenal. We ate at the Shanghai terrace which was also worth every penny. Great night out in the city.
Nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. The care and thought put into every detail of the room, from the slippers at the the foot of the bed and the phone chargers built into the nightstands, to the beautiful design and decor of the room, was amazing. Not cheap, but well worth the price in my opinion.

Clean room, conveniently located to merchandise Mart, nice pool and workout room. Paid extra to have great view of Chicago but view isnt awesome from my room. I assume floors 20 through 23 rooms 12 through 26 has the better view because they are looking east (?) While rooms 28+ is looking south onto railroad tracks and lesser buildings. Example 2123 must be better than 2128. Although I usually like...
Nice hotel easy to get to. Entrance was a bit confusing and would of been nice to be told were our room was at. But the room was very nice and clean and the bathroom was perfect.price was good too. I think the best part was the concierge she was so helpful and gave us tips and coupons to places i wish i knew her name. The only downfall is no hot tub in pool area. After a long day walking would of been...
Hotel had a old 60's vintage vibe throughout the hallways. Staff was very friendly. Price was reasonable for the winter season and parking was cheaper than other places. $41 overnight. Rooms were slightly smaller than others and there was no second sink outside the bathroom. Beds were extremely comfortable and soft. Decent hotel for the price
I've stayed here a few times now. It's very convenient if you're working in the Merchandise Mart, since it's connected. This hotel looks great and is similar to any other Holiday Inn that I've stayed at. I was able to get a good deal on my room this trip, but it often costs a bit more.
Customer service here deserves 10 stars, not just the 5 allowed. We used the concierge to get all kinds of discounts for shows & activities...again, excellent. Room & bathroom were well maintained. Food portions in the onsite restaurants are very large & good. The hotel location is convenient to do many things. The pool is warm even in 2 degree weather & plenty of towels were there waiting. The staff team were brilliant. Especially front of house. The best customer service we’ve had in years of international travel.
Hotel is in a great location and was easily accessible. It was a short walk from Union Station but there were plenty of cabs and Ubers/Lyfts in the area for when walking wouldn't work. The rooms were very nice and only need a little work done for upkeep. We enjoyed the on-site bar and the fitness facility a lot. Very good property.
From what I’ve seen of the hotel, it’s not bad once you get inside! As of this writing, a parking garage is being built and there is usually a lot of congestion when I arrive for my weekly Mary Kay success meeting however, the valets are very accommodating. The hotel appears (from the lobby) to be modern and up to date. The food is palatable and the service is very good.
Hotel is nice enough with comfortable beds and pillows. Location is good for lots of eating places. Lots of construction right now next to the building but not a lot of noise from it ( I was on the opposite side). Time to get from valet in the morning took 30 minutes but there is a nice app you can use to request your car.
Nice rooms with clean, comfortable beds. Friendly staff, nice modern design in rooms and lobby. Just make sure to read the fine print in reservations, we got a discounted rate though a hotel membership, and because the room was "discounted" we no longer got breakfast included.
For the price you could easily do better in a city with vast options. Rooms are dated, there are no power outlets on the desk or lamps. Water pressure in the shower was quite anemic. If this wasn't booked through work I would have checked out and found nicer options with no advanced booking for cheaper. Decent neighborhood with good dining options.

Loved it! We were able to check in early for a modest fee and we're upgraded to a much larger room with a couch, microwave, and mini fridge. The bed an pillows were comfy, everything was spotlessly cleaned, and the TV worked great. It walkable to the L, the loop, the mag mile, and navy pier. The only downside was the view of Trump tower (but that is probably why this hotel is such a steal!). I'd stay...
Excellent hotel! You cannot ask for a better location (prime spot for saint Patrick's day with the river going green), the price was fair considering we came from Canada. The rooms are clean and modern, the snack bar on the second level is one of the best for us yet. The only downside was the bed, it was pretty uncomfortable, the mattress could use an upgrade as I don't think they've been replaced...
Customer service very attentive. Rooms are reasonable in cost. Nice snack bar on 2nd floor and bottled water dispenser on every floor. Great room service. Very good pizza restaurant on first floor.
The employees were incredibly helpful and detailed whenever we asked a question. Our hotel room was incredibly small, since we were located at the very top of the building. They offer snacks throughout the day, as well as free coffee. Some people were upset because the elevators frequently had issues. Overall, it was a good stay due to the great location.
The hotel was very accommodating. I'll start by saying that I booked a room for my wedding night and let them know the occasion. They made note of it and decided to give us their best room on the top floor. The quality of the hotel seemed nice and modern. The room was nice as well, but could use some renovations. It was dated and needs a face lift.
We stayed at this hotel at the end of December and it was a great stay. We were able to check-in early a few hours before normal check-in which was super helpful. It was in a perfect location close to everything we were looking to do. We got a great deal on the price, main reason why we stayed here. Not sure if we'd stay here again but for a quick stay it was clean and the staff was friendly.

Room has good space, bathroom is small. Bed is comfortable. The TV is not aligned with the bed, making it a little difficult for you to watch TV. I liked the pillows, they are all made of feathers, extremely comfortable. Internet is very good. Rooms need to be upgraded. Room cleaning is good, not excellent, but for housekeeping to deliver a room in 30 minutes, as a rule, it's great. I think it's worth...
The location of the Hotel is perfect from all the other attractions around the downtown. It is indeed a nice historic building showing nice structure and entrance lobby is actually impressive with nice bar, restaurants and cafe. If you want a newer and modern looking room it will not fit your choice as all rooms are very congested and older looking. If you are into vintage and historical stuff it's...
Stunning historic, well located space near the Chicago Art Institute. Lots of hard working hotel staff who create an enjoyable experience, however, they can only do so much within the constraints they are given. I had a great experience. The location is perfect: so close to millennium park and the metro. It was very easy to walk to travel to restaurants, museums, and attractions. I loved the hotel. Easy to find great location. The hotel is a classic, so many areas are very elegant and grand. Some areas show their age, but none are the crucial ones. Rooms can be on the smaller side, but I did not mind. I had a king-size room, and it felt tight, but it was good value. Parking can seem expensive at $75 a day, but I did one of the cheaper per day options, and since it didn't have...

Very nice sized room, very helpful staff and great amenities at the hotel.
Great rooms. Love the clean contemporary design. Known for their workout facilities. Dining options slightly limited, but hotel restaurant food was great for dinner and breakfast. Great spa services. In contrast to some other reviews, our room was quiet and we didn't have issues with noise. We were on a higher floor (5th). Overall had a great experience and relaxing weekend stay with my wife.
My wife and I used the Hotel at Midtown for our wedding. We reserved a block of rooms, rented one of their suites to use to get ready for the day, and hosted a brunch the next morning in one of their conference rooms - everything went great. No microwaves in the entire facility, restaurant had limited hours and there was no room service, were the downsides. On the other hand, the hotel and facilities were modern and impressive. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. If you are very fitness-minded, this is the place for you!
Expensive, but worth the price. Very upscale feel, clean rooms, and attentive staff. Shoutout to Chase working the front desk. It was a cute little place to stay, especially for a layover or just a weekend. Their coffee is pretty good (and free!) And they have a pretty okay breakfast spread.
Really friendly staff and clean rooms. Parking (valet) was $35 which is pretty standard for Chicago. They had our car waiting for us in the morning when it was time to leave. Definitely one of the cooler hotels in Chicago. I've been to a few hotels in Chicago now for a bi-annual conference held in the city. Fantastic hotel. Amazing views from my room, fun "nook" looking back at the city, well appointed room. Clean, modern, will definitely stay here again. Staff goes out of their way to make sure you're happy. This new hotel sits on Navy Pier - it was fall when I stayed so didn't have the hustle but I could imagine staying here in the summer. Going to convention/event at Navy Pier? This hotel is connected
Pros: We were early, they let us check in early. You have options to walk inside or outside at the Navy Pier. You can walk through the hotel to find food court and shopping area. Cons: 1.View was good but we didn't feel very excited when we got into the room. We had a corner two queens room. The location of our room was good but still didn't feel the thrill. The hotel is ok. Typical Hyatt Place in a nice area. Got charged twice for 1 night valet parking, 90$ total. When inquiring about the second charge at checkout, the agent responded, without explanation, that the charge would go away. It didn't go away. The hotel was very clean and very quiet. They practice social distancing and you have to have a key to come in to the lobby unless you...
Well decorated and spacious rooms. I paid extra for a "room with a view", not realizing it's only a 6 story building. So the view is meh. But it's a great location for local food and entertainment. The room is very nice with a full sized L shaped couch and coffee table plus a desk and chair. In room refrigerator. I was most disappointed with the breakfast. Due to COVID, they have brown bag breakfast...
Everything was nice

The Ed and rest was exceptional. Really loved the size of the room and the easy access to he local areas. Was ideal for a conference at McCormick Place.
Expensive compared to the other convention hotels at the McCormick place. But worth the price. The lake side room has amazing Sunrise view. The M lounge is good with std hot breakfast , coffee and snacks. Very well lit and has a very modern touch to it. The funny thing was thw shower ..the most complicated one and you literally had to read the instructions to figure out. But otherwise a good property...
Had a hard time getting to the parking area as there was an event so they closed it off but once we circled back around it was open. The staff was so helpful on the phone and in person. The little Cafe like area is perfect for a quick snack. The room was super nice and had an amazing view
Location to McCormick place perfect. The hotel amenities, fit and finish are beautiful and well-appointed. The m club is gorgeous with a well-stocked snack, coffee, and refreshments center that is expensive. The breakfast is very good. I highly recommend this hotel and if you can get the m club upgrade
I attended a business gala event, but did not stay at the hotel as a guest. However, the hotel lobby and banquet room was absolutely gorgeous so I'm sure the rooms are spectacular. Everyone I encounter that worked there was extremely professional. They also have valet parking, which was a huge plus and the deciding factor if I was going to attend. You must keep in mind although this area has changed...

Great breakfast! Amazing location (you can walk to the most places) and great rooms! I recommend
Impressed with this place! Very nice hotel at an affordable price! Our room had a riverfront view which I recommend! The room was very clean and even smelled very nice when we walked in. The bed was so comfortable which I appreciated. They have 2 restaurants. You can sit outside along the river and watch the boats go by. Nice little band playing near the lobby inside. All the staff was polite and helpful...
Wonderful experience from the moment we arrived and were greeted by Mike until we checked out. The place is absolutely beautiful with great amenities and a great view. The location is perfect walking distance to shopping, restaurants and Navy Pier. Mike (I believe he is the doorman) was the BEST!! He was so friendly, kind and helpful. He recommended a great place for breakfast. I would recommend this...
Excellent congress hotel I don't know about the hotel part, but the congress part is well thought out
Impressive in its scope
Only visited for a conference, but the venue was beautifully maintained and served very well. The conference rooms were a bit small, but the pros were well worth it. Nice view of the river downstairs at the riverwalk, good service, very upscale vibe, just a couple minutes from Navy Pier and the bean. Overall well worth it!
