The room was much nicer than expected. Great view of the canal for the st Patrick Day events. The hotel.location was perfect. Walking distance to lost of shops and food. The list of restaurants in the room was a great help in deciding what to eat. Staff was friendly.
The staff was friendly, prompt and overall outstanding. This applies to the front desk, serving staff in the restaurant, employees in the market and more. The location was perfect and in walking distance to restaurants, museums, shopping and amazing activities. The lake view from our room, amazing. We were very pleased with our stay overall.
Excellent rooms, clean, newer and great location. The check in was great, and upgraded the room for a nominal fee. Had two issues, one was my suit needed pressed and was promised back at 8 am, it was misplaced and arrived later in the day around 3 pm, the staff was nice and helpful but it was late and caused unneeded stress. At check out was in the golf preferred lane with several bags and was called...
Stayed here with friends for a funeral. Really ideal location to all the scenery and touristy spots. The staff were very friendly. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here again for one night during Chicago Marathon week. I highly recommend getting their newer room as it's better. But no complaints either way. They gave me complimentary late check out. Early check in was $25 which was...
We stayed for 3 nights in Hyatt in July 2023. Check in to check out process was super fast and convenient. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the property was quite secure. Everything was so accessible and convenient for us to walk.
My only comment is I wish they would keep more water stands for the guest other than the front entrance. Some days were more hotter than the others, and having...
The rooms are totally fine, a little dated, but nothing to complain about. The location is awesome, right in downtown. Everything is very walkable from here and lots of transit options very close by.
The lobby restaurant is a fantastic option for breakfast. The breakfast buffet and omelette station is wonderful and a good value.

Room has good space, bathroom is small. Bed is comfortable. The TV is not aligned with the bed, making it a little difficult for you to watch TV. I liked the pillows, they are all made of feathers, extremely comfortable. Internet is very good. Rooms need to be upgraded. Room cleaning is good, not excellent, but for housekeeping to deliver a room in 30 minutes, as a rule, it's great. I think it's worth...
The location of the Hotel is perfect from all the other attractions around the downtown. It is indeed a nice historic building showing nice structure and entrance lobby is actually impressive with nice bar, restaurants and cafe. If you want a newer and modern looking room it will not fit your choice as all rooms are very congested and older looking. If you are into vintage and historical stuff it's...
Stunning historic, well located space near the Chicago Art Institute.
Lots of hard working hotel staff who create an enjoyable experience, however, they can only do so much within the constraints they are given.
Their grab and go has B to C+ food; furniture is fraying and hasn't been repaired in some areas. All food service is cut off at 9pm. In room snacks are $9 for Smart Water; $12 for nuts and...
I had a great experience. The location is perfect: so close to millennium park and the metro. It was very easy to walk to travel to restaurants, museums, and attractions. The front desk lady, Melissa was so pleasant on our arrival, answered all of our questions, and was so courteous and professional. Her warm greeting was a great start to our vacation. The room was clean and comfortable, the house...
I loved the hotel. Easy to find great location.
The hotel is a classic, so many areas are very elegant and grand. Some areas show their age, but none are the crucial ones.
Rooms can be on the smaller side, but I did not mind. I had a king-size room, and it felt tight, but it was good value.
Parking can seem expensive at $75 a day, but I did one of the cheaper per day options, and since it didn't have...
Very big hotel with a superb lobby and restaurant. The room I was in was normal, nothing fancy, but clean and had everything it was supposed to have. Location is nice as you can walk to touristic areas from there. The staff is friendly and willing to help with questions on how things work or where are things located. The gym is also very nice for a hotel. Enough weights and machine to keep people busy

Great hotel which was originally the Conrad Hilton. The State of Illinois Pharmacy Board Exam was held here at one time. Upscale hotel with lots of amenities. Very nice rooms, good food, and great views. Located on the magnificent mile, Michigan Avenue in the heart of Chicago. There are a number of attractions within walking distance of the hotel and of course you can always hale a cab.
Absolutely GORGEOUS hotel ? and convenient to local parks, the fountain, and restaurants. Staff were all very nice and helpful if I needed anything. Room was decent and clean. Fitness center was probably the nicest one I've ever seen in a hotel. Highly recommend.
Attended an event here at the Grand ballroom. The hotel is beautiful and the Grand ballroom even more so. The walls and ceiling were covered in paintings and ornate molding. The service was very attentive and the drinks we were served were great. The dinner was delicious too, especially for a catered event. The beef was cooked nicely and the sauces and seasonings were on point. I would enjoy coming...
This is a great old school hotel, I think built by Conrad Hilton himself. I found a great rate that included parking, which makes this place a great find right downtown. The room was a 1 king bed, which was a little smaller than new hotels, but perfectly good for 1-2 people. The only 2 minor issues I saw was having to be aware to keep window curtain closed or you’ll become very familiar with the...
Best part about this hotel is the convenient location. This establishment is considered historical landmark and it's located right at the heart of Michigan Ave. There are two restaurants inside the hotel and fitness center as well. Overall, when taken a closer look, there are more items out dated as far as interior details then not. Was really hoping for windows where we'd be able to look out but,...

Decent gym… but the hotel room was dirty. The people before me must have been hairy people because it was everywhere. The halls also needed shampooing. As for the mattress… no bugs just dirty and hairy. Also no mattress covers.
Decent lobby area and good for large gatherings. The food was decent. I loved their banana pudding!
We stayed here almost a week and each day has been an amazing experience. I typically don't right reviews at hotels but I was so impressed with how well this location takes care of you even while there is several large events taking place. When we contacted the front desk at least three times they provided detailed information that was so useful and seemed to genuinely care about our experience. This...
Great views from our room. We had two adults in our room and one of the queens was more like a small double bed. It wasn’t an issue but if it were my family we would not have fit. Pillows are like clouds. My favorite part.
Hotel is very clean. Easy access to the conference center or downtown.
There are two restaurants and a market which has a wide selection of beverages and take and go food.

Awesome place. The service: Excellent. The rooms: Well appointed and meticulously clean. If you can get a room on a high floor, worth the extra money. Check out the views from my south-facing room!
Not to mention the easy access to the lakefront. Went for a morning run on the lakefront. See the sunrise over the lake! Totally worth the price.
Check in process was smooth, front desk agent was very nice. Our biggest complaint with the hotel was that the pillows were so awful that it made for a poor nights sleep. I’d suggest they replace pillows immediately (this seems like such a minor thing and should be an easy fix. I wanted to knock 2 stars off for this but the rest of the hotel was great so I didn’t.)
Side note - we paid for the breakfast...

Conveniently located, shops and restaurants are a short walk. I love hotel rooms like this-clean, fresh smell, comfortable beds and pillows, cool airconditioning. It’s nice to come back and have a restful evening when the day is done. Even though there was a convention when we were there, our room was quite and we did not hear noise from other rooms. Check in and check out is quick, the people are...
5 star hotel to us! The hotel was perfect. Hannah and Pauline at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean. The lobby/lounge area was eco, good food and a nice vibe. Hotel is located in the heart of uptown and within walking distance to many restaurants and attractions.
This is one of the "redesigned Marriott's" and features modern, luxury-like room decor. We were on the 17th floor and still had decent views (guestrooms are on 11 and up.) There's a full-service Starbucks in the lobby, although it's quite pricey and there's more locations nearby that are less expensive. There used to be a pool, but there isn't one anymore, as the space was given up to a second fitness...
Great hotel, excellent location. I just stayed six nights at the Chicago Downtown Marriott (on the Mag Mile), and I was very impressed. My room was very clean and in good condition. I should also note that the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I will...
Great location. Awesome customer service! I requested an early check in for 11:30 am. We arrived earlier than expected and Gloria got us checked into a room at 9:20am. Rooms are very nice and up to date.
Nicely located in the heart of the city. The hotel looked modern with rooms that seemed recently renovated. Great concierge lounge for rewards members. My only complaint is the lack of air conditioning in the winter months as the rooms were very warm and would never cool down too my comfort level for sleeping.

Wonderful experience from the moment we arrived and were greeted by Mike until we checked out. The place is absolutely beautiful with great amenities and a great view. Excellent congress hotel I don't know about the hotel part, but the congress part is well thought out
Only visited for a conference, but the venue was beautifully maintained and served very well. The conference rooms were a bit small, but the pros were well worth it. Nice view of the river downstairs at the riverwalk, good service, very upscale vibe, just a couple minutes from Navy Pier and the bean. Overall well worth it!
Spectacular downtown Chicago hotel. Excellent service, well appointed room, fast WiFi. Was here for a conference and the conference rooms are nice as well. Downstairs cafe is nice if uninspired. Didn't get to eat at Shula's but I heard it was decent. View from my room was excellent.
Extremely clean and gorgeous hotel. The entire staff, including the maids, were very friendly. We had zero problems at all here. Even though taxi's are being taken over by ride sharing, I recommend asking the door man for a taxi so you get to watch him hail a cab with his whistle! The views from inside our room was stellar. Amazing views of the river, city, and a bit of the navy pier wheel.

The Ed and rest was exceptional. Really loved the size of the room and the easy access to he local areas. Was ideal for a conference at McCormick Place.
Expensive compared to the other convention hotels at the McCormick place. But worth the price. The lake side room has amazing Sunrise view. The M lounge is good with std hot breakfast , coffee and snacks. Very well lit and has a very modern touch to it. The funny thing was thw shower ..the most complicated one and you literally had to read the instructions to figure out. But otherwise a good property...
Had a hard time getting to the parking area as there was an event so they closed it off but once we circled back around it was open. The staff was so helpful on the phone and in person. The little Cafe like area is perfect for a quick snack. The room was super nice and had an amazing view
Location to McCormick place perfect. The hotel amenities, fit and finish are beautiful and well-appointed. The m club is gorgeous with a well-stocked snack, coffee, and refreshments center that is expensive. The breakfast is very good. I highly recommend this hotel and if you can get the m club upgrade

I enjoyed everything about this historic hotel. Lady at front desk was friendly, funny, and helpful. Shared info about the supposed haunted room in one of the many wings of this huge hotel. Although it was a bit smaller the ceilings were extremely high giving it a more...
Pretty good location and a classic hotel. Being classic it's also dated. Nice view of the park, and quite clean, but not the best room to do work in all day. Easy walk to the art institute. No AC, pay for refrigerator, free WiFi one day only. Great lobby though, there were people doing a photo shoot on the couches for an album, I can see why!
I thought this place was nice. Staff was nice, plaza was nice, room was a little rough though. Cracks in wall and ceiling. I understand it’s an older building but rooms could use some work. But the great rate we got on the room made up for the small defects.
The hotel has a very charming old feel to it. We got a lake side view room, and the view out the window is great, especially at sunrise! The place is clean and the bed is comfortable. Staff interactions have all been pleasant. Would definitely stay here again!
This is a great location in the heart of Chicago. The lobby has a well-maintained elegance from an earlier time. The staff was very friendly. The room was very clean with a great view of Grant Park and Lake Michigan. If you look hard enough, there are piecemeal repairs to the room and hallways--it's not all brand-spanking new, but well worth the price. I would definitely stay here again.
For what we paid for it, the room was well worth it. But the room was oddly monochrome (everything was painted white). The furniture was white and the bedspread was white and the curtains were (you guessed it) white. I wish I'd taken a picture, because looking back, it's kind of funny. The architecture of the room (beautiful art deco molding and domed ceiling) was hidden by the complete lack of contrasting...
It's old.....but that happens to the best of us. Tiny TV on a HUGE wall was kinda funny but I didn't go to Chicago to watch TV so not a big deal. No Microwave.
Great location with a beautiful view of the lake. Very nice room with a comfortable bed and they even provided complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste. Very nice staff at the front desk that let us upgrade our room to a lake view and check in early for a very small fee.

Really nothing to complain about. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool and fitness center was a blast. If you are on the top floor the view is amazing. All in all, I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good holiday. Thank you intercontinental hotel!! ??
A modern hotel and a great place to stay again and again! All facilities, food and staff were excellent and engaging. In addition, all my four days of stay in your hotel were worth it and gave me pleasure. Next time I have to recommend my family, friends and colleagues to visit your hotel because it was wonderful and the best. Thanks a lot!
We visited the Eno wine bar located in the front side by Michigan Avenue. The wine bar shares the same entrance as the Michael Jordan restaurant. Decent selection of wines and we'll known for their flights. Selection of chocolates, cheese, and other food item to go along with your wine. It's not a full scale restaurant but they are enough options to not go hungry. I would definitely recommend it.
Great hotel with central location for touring. This is a great place for a family as the pool and spa area is very nice, large, and indoor- important for the climate most months. Competitive rates for quality of hotel. You can get exceptional rate during Christmas time. Staff is friendly. Hotel extras like parking, food, and drinks are v. pricey...but it is Chicago.
This great location is walking distance to many major Chicago sites. I visited very briefly on business but had such easy access that I made it down to the famous bean as well as the Art Institute of Chicago.

Amazing hotel! Every staff member I interacted with super courteous and kind. The hotel is beautiful! Room was comfortable and had great view. Very well located. The only thing is that at check-in it would’ve been helpful to receive instructions on how to use the elevators, first ride was a bit confusing… totally recommend this hotel.
The hotel had signs about their environmentally friendly practices...
Very nice hotel. Large work space if you are working in the room. Everything worked like it should have, clean and fresh. Loved the hot water heater for tea. I hate having to run water thru a coffee maker for my tea. Front desk had my room even though I checked in at 9 am, very professional and courteous. Meeting room and function services on point.
This is one of my favorite hotels to stay at in the city. The bed in this hotel is hands down the best I’ve ever slept in. Everything here is high quality, and the amenities are awesome. The staff are always pleasant and super helpful (especially Cedric the valet!) The fitness center is nice but I really miss the pool. I would consider it a top hotel in Chicago!
Rooms were clean and as advertised. Staff was helpful, friendly and professional. Common areas appeared to be clean and well maintained. I did see some other reviews complaining about pricing for additional (like $10 for a box of bottled water in the rooms). I found an easy walk around solution is to drink your favorite beverage at another place of choosing nearby. While the hotel was not memorable...
Great location, great views! The higher the floors the better! The fitness center is located high in the sky with amazing views of Navy Pier and the city and the lake and the river. They also boast “wooden” room key cards, a cool talking piece.

Great spot. It was pleasant even with some exterior construction happening during the day. Nice staff. Large lounge and sitting area. Gym was excellent. Room had some dust and terrible view, but those were just unlucky things. Very happy overall.
Excellency in room maintenance and services. The most clean room and comfort beds in downtown. Hard to find a speck even in any corner of the room. Suites are great, but the rest of the hotel rooms are median. Cleanliness and the
location is optimal, but the service can be 50/50. I have been greeted and experienced excellent from housekeeping staffs, but the valet staff at the counter especially was shadowing. Overall I would try other hotel near to compare.
The hotel is great. Very classic JW hotel - old school but very well kept. Doesn’t get 5 starts because I personally like something more modern. The views are not very spectacular as you are surrounded by other tall buildings
The staff were very good. They noticed that I was limping the took the time to ask if I need any help. Then they brought up a wheelchair and move me to my room. Few minutes later a manger called me and is if I need any help. I asked for an ice pack. He came up to my room and he wrapped my foot with the ace pack. I'm so appreciative of the staff. Wonderful staff and updated room with giant bathroom. I didn't hear anyone in the adjacent rooms (or further ones) or the hallway. There was a leaky toilet, which is a part of life that hotels don't get rid of. Hotel had a old 60's vintage vibe throughout the hallways. Staff was very friendly. Price was reasonable for the winter season and parking was cheaper than other places. $41 overnight. I've stayed here a few times now. It's very convenient if you're working in the Merchandise Mart, since it's connected. This hotel looks great and is similar to any other Holiday Inn that I've stayed at. I was able to get a good deal on my room this trip, but it often costs a bit more.

Food portions in the onsite restaurants are very large & good. The hotel location is convenient to do many things. The pool is warm even in 2 degree weather & plenty of towels were there waiting. We...

Perfect location to all the tourist things to do and see in Chicago. It sits on the top of another building which is kind of cool. Views are great from at least our room. The price was also great and we did use the concierge who recommended an outstanding architecture...

I cannot say enough about this hotel, it was nothing short of amazing from the first contact i had with them to book the room, up to the minute we checked out. The staff was friendlier and more helpful than any hotel i've ever been to, the hospitality was truly above any and all expectations i could have had. There will not be another hotel i would stay at in Chicago after the great experience i've...
Everything was so perfect. The staff treats you like royalty. The rooms are in excellent shape. The rooms are also very modern. This will be my go to place whenever I come home to Chicago.
It's a grand experience. Lavish, modern and very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom shower had great pressure, the toiletries were aromatic. Overall, very relaxing stay. Highly recommended!
I never stay there but whenever Janet Jackson is in town, the Peninsula Hotel is where she like to stay. And it has great! reviews and, it has a five star restaurant.
This hotel is everything they say it is. Excellent service! Everyone is willing to help. When our room wasn't ready for an early check-in, they upgraded us, and the room was phenomenal. We ate at the Shanghai terrace which was also worth every penny. Great night out in the city.
Nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. The care and thought put into every detail of the room, from the slippers at the the foot of the bed and the phone chargers built into the nightstands, to the beautiful design and decor of the room, was amazing. Not cheap, but well worth the price in my opinion.

Staffs is enthusiatic, friendly. Location is good, very near Whole food market, near shopping center and restaurants. In general, my family feel very enjoyable with this hotel, if there is chance to come back Chicago, my family surely will choose this hotel once again.
A very mediocre room. I booked the 2 queen double beds with a city view. I was placed on the 19th floor.
Cleanliness: The room had traces of the previous guest. Some trash in the bathroom garbage and the one of the 2 glass cups they gave you seems used. The beds were clean, as well as the toilet, sink, and tub.
Room: The view I had wasn’t great. I was able to see the pool below, garage across the...
Can't beat the location, rooms need a refresh, noisy ac. The bathrooms were good though.
Service is excellent in the hotel but we forgot some things in the room and it was nearly impossible to communicate with housekeeping (and even the front desk was overwhelmed and didn't always pick up) to get them back. We gave up after spending 1 hour dialing and being transferred.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The service provided by Justin at the Starbucks and Ashley at the checkin counter provided superb customer service. This location is close to the navy pier and the mag mile. I would definitely stay here again.
Good clean, quiet, hotel. They have hot breakfast to go options which is great for business trip stays.
Also within walking distance of many key activities, restaraunts, and tourist destinations in town. We felt very safe walking to and from the hotel even at night, it seems to be a good area.
Fitness room was surprisingly very well equipped and well maintained. It had one of those sprinting treadmills...
Friendly, helpful staff and nice atmosphere in the hotel. Used the hotel as a base while me and my Son visited Chicago.
The hotel room was a good size and warm and clean. Two Queen sized beds were very comfortable.
Would definitely stay at this hotel again

Let me preface this by saying I'm an engineer that values function over form. This hotel is in the theatre district so a collision isn't unexpected. First the pros: the in-house catered food for my conference was high quality; the melon slices actually had flavor! The staff is professional and friendly. The shower was great. The cons: the room decor is weird; you can't reach hotel staff from your in...
This hotel is absolutely beautiful! You feel such a good vibe the moment you walk into the hotel! We got a room with a queen sized bed. Although the room was quite small, it was updated nicely and it was very enjoyable! Would definitely stay here again!
Very accommodating! This is a gorgeous hotel with beautiful lobby and lounge spaces, and most importantly very accommodating policies and staff.
I was staying with my cat and was so thankful for how welcoming and thoughtful they were about your pets. They provide a door hanger that alerts staff that there is a pet in the room. I kept the privacy hanger on my door as well so that my kitty wouldn't...
This hotel is beyond words. The design has captured it's Victorian beginnings into the roaring twenties in the newest upgrade. I could feel the good energy left here over many years. This is also the greenest hotel in the city with recycling and no excess plastic or paper. The staff is so kind and helpful. Sean and She's stand out. All staff were appreciative of the history. The mailbox is just...
Great prices for how upscale it makes you feel. The staff is super friendly. The room was kind of small but that's not a huge deal. Everything looked really nice. Would stay again. Also if you have to check out and have luggage they will store it for you free of charge
The hotel itself it interesting. The staff are kind and helpful.
The only real complaint that I have is how small the rooms feel and how thin the walls are. You can clearly hear conversations happening in the next room.
Otherwise, it's a neat place to stay.

The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean. We were there for the marathon it was easy to get around l was even able to walk to the start line. My kids enjoyed it. After the race they provided me with buckets of ice which was awesome for the ice bath.
Great place to stay!
We booked a luxury room and it was fantastic! great view and great space.
We had a king bed, bathtub and a shower, everyday they left us 2 bottles of compliment water.
The gym is terrific, it is very complete with 6 treadmills, if i remember correctly, 2 peloton bikes, 1 elliptical machine and 2 rowing machines, plus weights to lift, mats for yoga or stretching and basic equipment...
I have never stayed at a Sofitel property, so I was unsure of what to expect. The hotel went beyond my expectations and made my two-night stay in Chicago a memorable one. The lobby and restaurant on the first floor was spotless and appeared to be brand new. Once I got to my room, I was treated to luxury.
Customer service was fantastic (especially Kia at the front desk and the bartenders at Le Bar). The room was clean with great views. There is complimentary coffee every morning. The hotel restaurant served great food. The location of the hotel is perfect - walking distance to the water, great restaurants and great shopping. We will definitely be back!
