Hotel Grand Stark

It was really fun here! Beautiful hotel and great service. I brought my puppy and they were so sweet with him. Pro tip, get a cold beer and a ham croissant at the cafe downstairs, you won't be disappointed!!

Amazing and truly GREAT! Every aspect of the hotel including the amazing Deli restaurant, the comfortable beds, the beautiful linens and the countless amenities. This is a bargain that puts chain motels to shame. The staff is young, professional and dedicated. This place made our stay in Portland even better! Kudos to the designers, decorators and builders for the renovation. It's epic. And good WiFi.

My best friend and I had ourselves a gals weekend at Hotel Grand Stark and it was truly the most restful, inspiring weekend! Three nights just simply wasn't enough. The moment we walked into the lobby, we were greeted with so much kindness from Byron (at the front desk.) About 30 minutes after getting up to our room, Byron called to make sure we got gotten settled and check to see if we needed anything. Hospitality was top notch!! The entire hotel is a work of art. The lobby, the meeting space, the rooms, every single corner had so much attention to detail and intentionality poured into it. Our bed was so comfy, the rainfall shower was heavenly, loved the complimentary coffee in the mornings, and it was close proximity to everything we wanted to do in Portland. I'd stay with Hotel Grand Stark in a heartbeat!!

This place is awesome and if I'm ever doing another staycation I'll definitely come here again. Partner and I were local and wanted a cute place to shack up for Valentine's Day and found this spot at a great rate. The staff is super kind and welcoming, and the rooms are very modern and unique. When our room got a bit cold, the front desk even sent up a space heater for us! So sweet. This hotel is also in a nice location with lots of food and bars within walking distance and with easy access to the streetcar. Highly recommend!

A decent room and excellent service. Byron at the front desk was quite helpful and welcoming. This was probably the first time I got a call up to my room asking if the room was to our liking. The room was nice for an old historic building. Something to know beforehand is that this hotel only offers valet parking. Otherwise, you need to find a parking spot on the street, which is hard in downtown Portland. Not to mention lots of homeless folks in the area and construction going on. We made the mistake of parking our car at the local Jackson's because the clerk said it was fine and got blocked in by construction workers who double parked behind our car. Luckily, a foreman was there to ask him about getting someone to move the car out of the way. I probably should have used the valet, but I wanted to save 45 bucks. I won't do that again. Anyways, Excellent place to stay if you're seeing a show at Revolution Hall like we did. Less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. All and all pretty pleased with the hotel. It was just the location that had some quirks.

We had such a great stay here! The room was bigger than expected and had so many cute touches added to it. Very cozy bed, comfy robes and a beautiful bathroom. Walkable to a bunch of bars and restaurants. We had an incredible meal at Grand Amari. They serve classic Italian fare and every dish was fantastic. We’ll definitely go back!

We loved our stay here! They have a really unique aesthetic, a great bar/restaurant, amazing staff, and clean rooms. The decor has classic elements but is nicely updated. There are some cool quirks which make it feel like you’re not at some corporate, stark hotel.

What really stood out to us in addition to cleanliness was the absolutely wonderful service at the front desk from Byron. He was so welcoming and friendly! He explained everything would possibly need to know about our stay concisely but very clearly. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a pleasant check in experience at a hotel in my entire 37 years. The maintenance guy was also really nice, helpful, and informative. Thank you to Byron and the team at the Grand Stark for a lovely stay!

Beautiful hotel. Love the green colors with the brown wood, looks really nice. Great place to eat in the neighborhood. Cool place. The place was pretty sketchy.. Tons of homeless everywhere you look. Looks like the pandemic hit here hard. The only complaint about the hotel itself is the thin walls.. very noisy street and you can hear everything.
