The Gustav Stresemann Institute (GSI) is a respected educational center located in Bonn, Germany, focusing on political education, European affairs, and international cooperation. It offers a wide range of seminars, conferences, and workshops that promote democratic values, dialogue, and cultural exchange. The institute is named after Gustav Stresemann, a key figure in post-WWI German politics and diplomacy.
The GSI’s modern facilities, experienced staff, and well-structured programs make it a hub for both students and professionals looking to deepen their understanding of global issues. Its emphasis on intercultural communication and peaceful conflict resolution reflects its commitment to fostering international cooperation and mutual understanding.
The serene setting near the Rhine River adds to the appeal, creating a conducive environment for learning and networking. Overall, GSI is highly regarded for its contribution to political education and cross-border dialogue.

An unbelievably awful hotel.
From the first minute, we were checked into the room in a completely false category without our desire and not at the price we had booked well in advance. When I, having visited the room, asked a receptionist to change it, I was told that all the rooms in this category had already been occupied. So, my reservation was an illusion.
In addition, according to the booking info, breakfasts were included in the price. Not at all. We had to pay for breakfast as well! I have never seen such a low-quality hotel at such a price.
The room was stuffy, with no air conditioning and no fridge. The food in the restaurant was the same and stale, sometimes it was scary to eat it. The desserts - the same puddings every day - were stored for however long. The so-called ‘fresh’ sliced fruits were sour and even fermented. Drinks were not included in the price of lunch.
Be ready that at a check-out you are disgustingly asked if you drank the tiny bottle of water you had in the room: after all, it cost 3 euros. The next question I expected during the check-out should be: “How many times did you breathe the air in the room? You know, the air in our hotel costs 50 cents a breath”.
If I were a future event organizer, I would think twice before putting guests in this “dormitory”: it is a kind of disrespect to the participants of your event.
The only plus: friendly staff in cleaning and the restaurant.

I have stayed here before, but my most recent stay in June 2024 was disappointing. I paid for breakfast and came 45 minutes before breakfast was meant to end. I don't eat meat or eggs (which already took out a lot of the options, but that's of course fair enough/my choice). But the options that were left were empty and not being filled up "because breakfast is almost over". The roll I got was frozen inside. It's one thing if (to avoid food waste) that you don't fill up the last hour, but then make that clear to guest. If I'd know that I would have come earlier, rather than paying for a breakfast which I was very disappointing.

It’s a nice hotel in Bonn. Quiet and not far from the local station. The Bonn city center is 20 mins from here. Rooms are cozy and have basic amenities.
Staffs are friendly and courteous. Restaurant is on the ground floor, where you can enjoy your breakfast and dinner. You have also good options for breakfast. I enjoyed my stay here.

Better to avoid the conference hotel. They stool my credit cards and cash from the room while attending the conference and there has been 0 consequence. I had zero money with me the rest of the days and I could not anymore concentrate on the lectures. Pretty much sad and shameful for the management that this is allowed at such an institute.

The rooms are what you expect from it, clean enough and a good size, bed a bit on the hard side. However, considering that we paid a significant amount for the breakfast we at least assumed everything would be available and restocked. Turned out 45 minutes before the end of the breakfast, it ends 9:15h on weekdays, the little buns, croissants and other beverages were not restocked. This is unacceptable. Luckily, the employees at the front desk were kind enough to solve this matter.

Very clean and comfortable room, not a big one bit it's ideal if you don't want to stay inside whole day. The breakfast is first class! The staff is very kind, I recommend the hotel for everyone.

Good things:
- beautiful garden, well maintained rooms.
Horrible things:
- absolutely stupid design of the room for people with disability.
- wifi sucks- they make you pay for basic service which keeps dropping during important calls
- we arrived from a long 10 hour journey and were hungry. Asked for food at the reception- the restaurant was closed- we ordered in the food from uber eats and were told off that it's not allowed to order outside food in as strict tone of voice as possible.
- the most beauraucratic, transactional, silly processes for every tiny bit of request you can make and they'll make you fill a dozen forms for everything.
- if you order a drink- you'll get serviced with a big smile- you ask for tap water, they will roll eyes and sigh while serving since we're not paying for it.
- food sucks- at least options for vegetarians are limited.
The minor interactions with the staff matter a lot- and currently the way it's run- just left a sour taste on a daily basis and ruined my experience.
