Best part about the hostel is location. Couple of minutes walk from the hbf. Room could be improved massively. Stayed for a couple of nights. Pillow was super uncomfortable. Bed makes a lot of noise even on small movements. Bedside lamp was not working. Overall cleanliness of common washrooms,etc. is fine.

Large and extremely 'lively' hostel. Rooms/dorms don't have bunks but single beds which is great. No self catering facilities whatsoever- although there is a restaurant that does breakfast and evening meals - however it wasnt open one night we were there. The food we did have was pretty nice and although not cheap - reasonably priced. The facilities were adequate.

If you're looking for good location on a budget then look no further. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds. Big number od showers on each floor so at least I did not experience lines. Nice pub downstairs. I am taking one grade off as bathrooms could be cleaner.

Great location and nice rooms! The bar is really nice too, I can thoroughly recommend stopping in for a drink. We had a room for 6 to ourselves, which was nice for privacy/security. Staff all very friendly, all in all I've had a great experience.

Very nice hostel, well located nearby the main train station, good prices, cool staff and equipped with a good bar :) I strongly recommend it to backpackers around Köln and the Rhine Valley.

Good location tourism wise in Cologne, clean rooms, pleasant staff. However, very noisy street outside and rooms a little bit like hospitals, also not enough showers or toilets. Reasonably priced.

Stayed here 3 nights with a school group. Close to public transit with frequent rides to the city centre, and very near the zoo. Breakfast was adequate with small selection of cereals bread jam hams and cheeses, evening meals were quite good with only 1 option but a very well stocked self serve salad bar. Beds are comfortable and clean (but you have to make them yourself), breakfast is ok, good vending machines and chargers next to every bed! Overall a very nice stay.

The place is clean and organized. There's only WiFi on the ground floor which was a little inconvenient. It is a 45 minutes walk from the train station and a 10 minute cat ride. There is a train stop near by that is very convenient. I am enjoying my stay here.

This hostel is quite amazing! The rooms are lovely and the beds are huge. You have a lot of privacy with the curtains. The only downsides are that there's no self-catering kitchen and in the summer the rooms get very hot but the street is quite loud when you don't close the windows. Otherwise I had a great stay! A comfortable and stylish hostel that I definitely want to return to. The beds in the dorms are larger than usual hostel beds, are very comfy and have curtains that provide some privacy. Linen and a bath towel are supplied and everything was very clean and tidy overall. Great hostel. Pretty small in regards to amount of rooms, but our 6 mixed room was pretty good. Beds are huge compared to other hostels, service was great. Breakfast seemed nice though there's not that much variety.

Nice hostel with a very warm home feeling. Beds in 8-dorm room are very comfortable and wide. Everything is perfectly clean, locker in the room is extremely spacious and already equipped with a lock. A cozy hostel with nice living room where nice tea and coffee are free! The bar is really happening but not too noisy. Their special Tacos food truck on Friday evening seems to be really good. What’s more, the 8 people dorm looks exactly the same as in the picture, and the bed is huge and spacious(for me it’s a small queen size bed). Best hostel I've ever stayed in. The staff are very good, friendly and helpful. Free tea and coffee and the facilities are kept immaculately. Will stay again and will recommend to others. It's located near to Rudolphplatz so easier to find from the tram station. The bar is also good but can get busy at peak times, especially at the weekend.

so far the city center, is clean, with nice workers, breakfast was 5 euros and the perfect way for the metro station was so close if you wish to go Leverkusen or your other route.

Had a one night stay at the hostel and the experience was great. It’s located right next to The Central station so it’s very easy to reach. The kitchen and the common areas are huge. And I like that the room has its own showers and bathrooms. However, the wifi connectivity should be improved.

Very good hostel with good prices. Nice location: all sights and Railway station are near (5-10 min by feet). Staff is friendly and helpful,good service. Rooms and linens are very clean. Comfortable beds. There is a kitchen there where you can cook. You must pay for the towels if you need it.

Pathpoint Cologne Backpacker Hostel is really close to the train station (hardly 5 minutes walking). We stayed at the hostel for 2 nights & it was great. Big rooms, high ceilings, amazing breakfast & helpful staff. The most famous Cologne Cathedral is just 10 mins away from the hostel

As a person who uses hostels a lot, this one was pretty expensive, there were no plugs near the bed so i had to climb off my bed in order to charge my phone, however the place was clean and staff very friendly. Breakfast was a let down seeing that the booking was expensive, it was a normal german breakfast with bread, cheese and cold meat. No hot breakfast.

The place is super clean but overall it’s just poor value for money. Minimum expected things were missing: No soap in the bathrooms, no working wifi, no eggs nor real orange juice in the breakfast. No AC or fan in the room and the window can only be opened a bit, so the room gets too warm (don’t come here in summer). Oh and check out time is too early!

Location is very close to U-Bahn. Bathroom is very clean. The locker box is huge and comes with a key (for €10 deposit). Staff very kind and helpful. Comes with nice kitchen, free coffee & tea, free washing machine for usage.

Quaint hostel located near a good public transport line. Beds were clean and already made, room didn't have bunk beds. Plenty of sockets, chest with lock was included with the price. Free breakfast was simple but sufficed. Calm, easy going place that is perfect for small groups looking for a clean and friendly place to stay. Bathrooms were spotless.

Quiet hostel with low prices. You can buy your own food to cook with in the kitchen. Definitely not a party hostel, it's good to follow the rules here and not make too much noise after 10:00pm (22h). Owner has a very extensive record collection and he will let you play some records in the cozy living room. He has traveled a lot and you can see his destinations from the map on the wall.

Nice and clean Hostel with a kitchen ( so you can use the fridge and/or cook yourself if you like). Simple ( continental) breakfast and unlimited coffee and tea all day. By underground/metro only 15 minutes to te city centre.

Good place but very empty

I have stayed in shivas citysleep before 3 years and I liked the place but my recent stay in this hostel was not so good, there were lots of workers and they were very loud in the night. I would still recommend this hostel for 2-3 nights because it has a good location and it is not so expensive.

Stayed for 3 nights. At first, I underestimate what it will be, but turn out, it has best value for what you pay for. The location, (1) It's only 5 minutes walk to Koln-Nippes station, and 2 stops away to Koln Hbf. From Koln Hbf, you can transit to most public transport. We only stayed for one night and had a great experience overall. The hostel is well connected to the city centre via the underground. Our checking was quick and the staff was really friendly. We even got a little map of Cologne centre and towels for free! We sadly didn’t get to try the hostel’s café/bar as we only stayed for one night, but the atmosphere seemed great and there was even live music!...

The food and drinks are good, the majority of the staff is very warm and welcoming too, but they are not really good at what they do: being waiters. Some of the waiters though are not only bad at their job, but also unfriendly and mean.

Very unusual hostel, where you have to enter through gift shop the bar. Really good staff, cool bar with nice music and environment. Rooms are clean. It was very nice to see bad sheets to put on place and I don't have to arrange them (hate it sometimes). Area is quite calm and nice.

It was a nice hostel generally, enjoyed the stay there, there is a kitchen with a common space. However it could have been cleaner, there were some crumbs on the floor in the private room when we arrived

It’s a little bit intimidating because it doesn’t have much light in the hallway, but it is well located and it’s ok because it has a really low price. The image/cleanliness could be better though.

Great hostel, very basic but good location! Although I was told I could park here there is no where to park on site. And it cost me more to park then to stay at the hostel.

Location is very good.its near the university so there are a lot of young people in that area. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms were ok. Not the best ever, but if you consider the price-quality is acceptable. Staff was wonderful! And I met great people there!

Stood for 2 nights on a room with 4 beds and was really good. The room and toilet is very clean, comfortable beds and well organized. There is also a nice and relatively large space y the reception for socializing, playing some games and cook something. definitely recommend this hostel

A lovely and friendly hostel. So cool there are an arcade and Nintendo games in the common space. You can have free tea and coffee in the kitchen, though some kinds of coffee charge €0,50. The only problem I met was that there was no hot water around 00:00 so I could only took a cool bath.

Very recommended. I booked here for the gamescom days. It was the cheapest and it is only five to ten minutes walking distance to the event. It is managed by a single person only and it shows everywhere the love he has put to his hostel. Everything is clean, the carpets are new and not millions of years old. The hostel was a very good one, it has a good atmosphere, the staff was friendly, it had a kitchen so it was easy to cook your food and some money. The location was very good being 20 minutes to the cathedral. All in all a very pleasant experience. Would come back again!
