Lovely place to stay, the rooms are just perfect, it feels like they thought of everything when planning them. All rooms are studio apartments with kitchenette area(fridge, stove, oven). Staff is very friendly too.

Good accommodation for a fair price. Everything you need is available. Very close by you have a super market as well as many other shops. In about 20 minutes via public transport, you are at the cathedral. The only disadvantage is the fire alarm. It might start in the night and it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to turn it off by local staff or the fire department.

This place is right on the river. The rooms are fresh, and the atmosphere is homey. When our girls got sick the staff was helpful and accommodating.

We have been staying at the hotel on our wedding night and the night before. We had a room with a stunning view over Cologne and a beautiful balcony. We received a small marriage cake to enjoy, and I had a special hanger for my wedding dress. I loved the way they took care of even the smallest things. Thank you!

Excellent hotel for a city trip. Just a 5 minute walk from the city center. Spacious and clean room, comfortable bed, great air conditioning and private parking. We did think the breakfast was very pricey (27 euros) so we just got our own breakfast. Other than that very nice and comfortable hotel.

There is a generosity about this hotel that is all too rare these days. Heaps of toiletries in the bathroom, free minibar with beer and juices, and a magnificent breakfast. The outdoor elevator was an unexpected joy too. Would definitely return if we come back to Cologne. Thank you.

The hotel is excellent, comfortable, and clean, with spacious rooms. It is conveniently located near the city center, just 10-15 minutes by train to and from Cologne Cathedral. The price is relatively affordable.

I'm not sure if I had higher expectations or have been spoiled but this is a very low budget hotel. You don't get any water in your room, you don't get conditioner or body soap, just shampoo in the shower. I have dietary requirements that are hard to meet but the selection of gluten free and plant based dairy products was great so that I could eat like other people, which is rare in the hotels. Staff was friendly, parking is directly under the hotel and accessible by elevator.

Older hotel. Rooms need some upgrades. Bathroom sink and shower have 2 separate knobs for hot and cold water, which I think is inconvenient. We came here with our 10 month old for a few days after a river cruise. Luckily for us, they were able to check us in very early. They provide a solid wood crib with an appropriate mattress and covers. They also provided a nice stokke high chair for breakfast. We had a handicapped room which gave some more room in the bathroom. Don't you just hate when you pay circa €250 for a hotel room and you still have to pay for everything at the hotel? I'm sorry to say that Dorint Hotel An der Messe is like that. The breakfast is €30 extra, to use the pool is €6 extra, a bathrobe is €3,5. Other than that, the hotel in itself is pretty good.

When I booked I asked for 2 single beds. This means to me 2 beds, so 2 people. I paid 384 euro. Which is a lot of money for 2 nights. It's a nice hotel, comfortable room. I missed a socket near the bed. Personally I'm not a fan of showering in the tub, but it worked. Breakfast rates are ridiculous in my opinion. Almost €30,- for a cup of coffee and a bowl of yoghurt is overrated. Parking rates could be less too, imo.

Great location for Christmas markets! The hotel is outside the city centre but we liked being closer to the smaller markets. We stayed in December 2024 and the hotel was exactly what we needed. The rooms were very big and the gym was huge and well stocked. Would recommend!

The breakfast buffet was not refilled so you paid a lot for very little food and juices. The elevator was broken the entire week so it was tough for my partner with knee issues to walk up the narrow curving stairs. There was no privacy between the bathroom and the room. Only a curtain you could pull but it stopped no sound or light.

We booked this hotel for our long weekend stay in Cologne, and it was a good destination. Less than 15 walking mins away from the old town, situated right at the river and with lots of dining options around, it offered everything we needed. The room was very spacious, with sort of a balcony just above the canal, with comfy beds.

I had 2 days in a conference at the hotel and also spend those 2 days there. My room had a nice view to the river and was also very comfortable/big. lovely hotel! we stayed for one night and were amazed by the comfortable beds in the three bed family room. we chose this hotel because it had three separate, real beds, and they didn’t disappoint! the breakfast was also incredibly nice - one of the nicest breakfast buffets I’ve ever had (multiple types of honey!) Clean and quiet hotel, in a very good location, with a large SPA area. Unfortunately, when it comes to the facilities for guests, it is quite poor, there is no coffee and tea in the room, a bathrobe, flip-flops and a SPA towel are available for a fee (8 euros per person), the room was quite small.

Pro: Close to 1980 restaurant and you can easily walk a few blocks to a few main streets full of shopping etc. Rooms a good size, came with coffee. Cons: Left specific instructions that my late luggage would be delivered and we would pick it up when we stayed again a few days later. My wife's was kept but they turned back mine creating an even bigger fiasco on top of AA and BA airlines screw up....

Nice hotel, situated at 15 minutes walking from Koln Cathedral. We received a free upgrade of the rooms. The rooms received were very big and comfortable. The staff was very nice and friendly. Totally recommend for a stay in Köln.

Nice old hotel in a very good location, one station away from the central station and in front of metro. Definitely not worth the price, cause we were there during the Messe, but still liked it. Clean and quiet with friendly staff.

I would like to recommend this hotel to Hyatt members. As a new member of Hyatt, at first they are not very familiar with Hyatt benefits. But when they make it clear, they kindly upgrade suites for me and give me access to the lounge. The staffs are very kind and patient. The location is also very good, close to the city centre and U-Bahn.

The rooms aren't very good. The beds are too hard and thin, the pillows are pretty much air in a pillow case, the shower is too small, and there is a 5ft tall beer advertisement attached to the coat rack. The breakfast is great though, and if your here for the Christmas market it's 50 ft away from the entrance. If you're not here for that, get a different place.

I should have read the reviews a little closer. This hotel is owned by Früh, one of Cologne's most famous beer brands. The single room was decorated with a giant pint of Kölsch, on a wooden board. It was not classy. The entire place gives off a student dork vibe and is not inexpensive. Great breakfast though.

The hotel overall was pretty good. I have absolutely no idea why the reviews are so bad. The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the cleaning lady came once in two days. Free tea and coffee available 24/7. The only thing that was a bit uncomfortable was the absence of mini bar. I enjoyed out stay and def would recommend the hotel to the budget travellers.
