This hotel couldn’t be in a better spot right in front of the harbour but it needs updating. Our room smelt musty and no amount of ventilation seemed to change this. The breakfast is pretty good and the staff are mostly friendly and helpful though the women on the front desk can be rather icy.
There is an indoor and outdoor pool but there could be more seating and also more shade as it got very crowded.

beautiful location and amazingly kind cleaning staff! it is super sad to say that the front desk person at night was super unfriendly and unkind when we asked a simple question about the tv. (none of the televisions have access to any channels that are on the remote and on the tv itself) super disappointed with the service with the front desk at night especially when it is an expensive hotel. the front desk staff during the afternoon were extremely helpful and polite so we were very appreciative of them!

This is one of the best hotels in Lindau. Their restaurant offers a mesmerising view of the lake constance. The food is tasty as well. The staff is very friendly. Easily reachable. Mountain view. Major shops nearby. Highly recommended.

THIS IS NOT a 5-STAR HOTEL. It’s a 3-star at the very best. Front desk staff were extremely arrogant and unpleasant. The entrance is about 5 or 6 steps up the street level. When we checked in, there were two doormen standing there with their hands behind their backs. No smiles. No greetings. Didn’t bother to help us up the steps. We had to lift our bags ourselves. When I inquired with the woman at the front desk, she sneered and said we had to pay extra to get help. Which would have been ok if that’s how it works. But her manner and hand gesture were condescending. What audacity!
The room is dated and spartan. Carpet is stained. Bathtub is clogged and the shower door leaks. Dinner was very ordinary, nothing to write home about.
I advised our tour operator never to use this hotel again.

The hotel is really well located in the city, which guided our choice. On the other hand, not at all up to the standard of a hotel of this category. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned and far from having all the comfort. The bathrooms are small. The bedding is ok.
On the wellness side, a part was not open because it was under repair or malfunctioning but it would be nice to specify it at the reservation. We are far from what we can expect at the reception and the answers are rather evasive when we ask questions.
The swimming pool is pleasant in the morning. The breakfast is just at the height and the service of the terrace is very medium, we have the clear impression that the tourists are welcome for their money.
In short, it is seriously to be revised at the level of the reception and we feel well that without the exceptional position of the hotel in front of this beautiful lake... it would not be the same!

We had salad at the terrace. It was ok nothing special, we waited very long but worst part was the super rude waiter commenting “echt jetzt?”, which is a rude version of “huh really?” instead of politely apologizing. For a 5 star hotel at lakeside this is completely unacceptable and I wonder what the manager thinks when employing such unmannered staff.

Hotel Bayerischer Hof is a grand old hotel with excellent rooms and modern facilities. It is ideally located in the prime port position at Lindau, immediately opposite the railway station. The staff and service are first class!

This is an exceptional hotel. I have stayed here at least once a year since 2012 and look forward to each visit very much. The location on the harbour front at Lindau looking over Bodensee towards the Austrian alps is superb. What is particularly outstanding about this hotel is the warm and extremely professional service. To achieve this level of service consistently over a six-year period is quite something!
