Amazing view over the monestary, friendly personnel and a very decent room even though we could hear the upstairs guest a bit through a creeping ceiling. Breakfast was also good. Would definitely recommend a stay.

We stayed for one night last year in May and had a wonderful experience at the Posthotel Ettal. It is a beautifully appointed small hotel with excellent service and a great breakfast. I would recommend it highly and would stay there again and again.

We felt very comfortable at the Alphotel. It's not super-modern, but it was clean and well-maintained. Highlights were the view of a mountain range from the hotel room (with a balcony and small front garden) and the wonderful terrace where we enjoyed the generous breakfast. Points deducted for the bitter coffee and the lack of a refrigerator in the room. We would stay there again anytime.

We spent one night here during a motorcycle tour. The accommodation was well-maintained and clean, with outdoor parking for the motorcycles. The sauna and pool area are available for use. We couldn't use the restaurant because it was closed on Sundays.

We stayed here as a group from South Africa to attend the passion play in oberammergau. The staff were very friendly, efficient and went out of their way to make sure that we were tended t. The food was lovely and the breakfast pack for the airport fantastic!

This is a great Hotel to stay if you want to explore the region of the Ammergau Alps. The service at the hotel is impeccable and the people of the region are very friendly to tourists. You will start your day with an amazing breakfast buffet and then you can either hike the Alps, hit the slopes or relax at the Spa!!! We will be back again soon!

This is a quaint hotel right in front of the mountain "Hörnle" - a great area to Ski and sleigh ride. They have a 4.5km long sleigh hill which you can ride down 🙌🏽 The food for the region is very hearty and filling from home made Spätzle to Schnitzel you can eat anything your hear desires st their in house restaurant. A very comfortable hotel, friendly staff, relatively spacious rooms, good breakfast. Only disappointment was dinner. We were on a package for the Passionspeil and dinner the night before was a set menu that was the worst meal we’ve ever had in a hotel! Cooked hours before and inedible.

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed some spa and wellness. The wellness area is beautiful and I felt very comfortable there. The massage at the hotel was excellent and super relaxing. The food was excellent, including breakfast. The rooms are nice too. There is a lot to do in the area and you can go on great hikes directly from the hotel. The mountain railway is directly opposite.

I stayed there for a week with my boyfriend to celebrate our anniversary. It was very worth it. The rooms were really cozy. The Hotel Schillingshof proved a good base for our stay in the area to see the Passion Play. Our room was clean, quiet, and everything worked well and we enjoyed the daily maid service. Stayed here two nights. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating! The rooms were clean, comfortable, spacious, quiet, and had a private outdoor balcony. It's ok I guess because there was NO wifi even though they advertise it it is a very weak signal and the food was pretty good

Typical winter Bavarian hotel, you can have a sauna after the cold day, and if you'd like a beer at the evening simply go down in the restaurant

We stayed at this hotel for 8 days. The service was very good, the breakfast excellent. The room was of a good standard, as was the bathroom, if a little on the small side. The location in the village is very quiet and only a few hundred meters from the "center". We will be back, especially because of the rich and high quality breakfast.

Germans love the place, but for Americans it may take awhile. You have to be here for the German spa experience: the healthful atmosphere (and what that implies for breakfast) with sauna, pool, mudpacks, massage, lymph drainage, etc. If you're not, stay in a guesthouse or ordinary hotel. This hotel deserves 5stars. Every corner radiates with beauty and a dedication to detail and quality. I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and solace from the nature. Book it with halfboard direct from its website (for two nights at least). It gives you a much better deal.

Very good food and family owned atmosphere. My room was very nice and I also like the pool and sauna area. You have the choice of a take away lunch instead of breakfast. I liked that because I had to leave early in the morning.

We only spent one night here but it was very nice. Location is great (the main street may be a little loud during the day though) the room was small but pretty, the house old but well kept. We had a hard time to find a parking spot but that is to be expected in a tourist location like this one.

I was a little apprehensive staying outside of Garmisch and having to use public transportation but the Richard Strauss Festival was happening in Garmisch and this hotel was the only one I could find under €150 per night. A very great place for you to take a rest before/after next stop. Breakfast is wonderful which changed my impression of Germany foods. Will be my 1st choice if next time visit South Germany.
