Where to stay in Oberhausen

The hotel is in a very good location close to all amenities. The staff are very helpful. The breakfast is good. The rooms are very comfortable and cosy. Will surely visit again.

Although a budget hotel and inexpensive it is a very nice place to stay for one or two nights. The room was spacious and modern, with a very good bathroom. It was very quiet despite being fully booked. The breakfast was extensive and there was ample seating. Very comfortable new hotel in the area but very little effort has been made to make it easily accessible on foot. This is very much a ‘car required’ area, which is more the fault of the area than the hotel. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Very reasonably priced compared to alternatives locally.

We stayed at the hotel for a night. The hotel was really good with 24/24 service. The room is cosy and clean. We are happy with the price (62€/night) and the cappuccino for 3,5€. However, the room is not really soundproof.

This was the second time we stayed at the Hotel Schmachtendorf, we were again made to feel very welcome and again delighted with the very nice, modern room. The store was easy to find, there was good parking, the reception was friendly and helpful, the room was very well equipped (a bottle of drinking water, tea, coffee, and a kettle), and the restroom area was very large and well-equipped. Great hotel. The breakfast was super. Despite the fact that we are usually not big meat ball fans we absolutely loved them there. Also worth mentioning is the great selection of cheeses. The room we had was perfect for a family of 5 (which can be a challenge). Staff was very friendly (especially to our kids). The location is great for visiting the huge Christmas market

Stayed there for only 12 hours because my flight got cancelled. It was a nice hotel near a plaza with lots of restaurants and other shops. The room was clean and well furnished.

Multi- lingual service, excellent rooms, good value and a complete breakfast are a few reasons to stay at Hotel Friederichs.

The design and furniture of the room (wooden) gives the room a very warm feel. The restaurant is awesome. The neighborhood is quiet and there is a nice park around the corner. Despite the distance to the city center, fairly efficient public transit.

Exceptionally friendly service, cozy atmosphere. Choice of food and very good taste. Dessert is a feast for the eyes. However, smaller desserts should also be offered. We'll be back anyway!

Even if the organizational processes may have to be rehearsed at one point or another, yesterday after a long break from gastronomy we had a special evening at the Gimken restaurant. Thanks to the excellent team and of course to the chef in the background, who during our stay, in addition to his culinary delights, stood out especially for his warmth and therefore did a great job. Spent 3 nights here, very friendly staff, great breakfast & a clean & comfortable room. Close to city centre with good bars & restaurants. If you like Thai food go to Nuh's about 40 metres across the square, its fantastic😊

A shame that the hotel must close due to regulatory requirements. I stayed there for a week and it is a really nice run hotel. The staff are super friendly, the breakfast for such a small hotel really outstanding and the rooms are large and spacious. The hotel was good but not in a price 60 € per night. Maybe the value is sth about 40€ The rooms were clean but small. The bathroom was to old. The staff were perfect and location was also near central train station.

Locatie was super, 5 minuten lopen van het centrum van Duisburg. We gingen er heen voor de kerstmarkt en dat was een leuke happening. Ontvangst was erg gezellig, Axel lacht de hele tijd en gaf ons goede info voor een ontspannen verblijf.

Everything else, Axel was fantastic upon arrival, it was very clean, ipod preloaded with songs, amazing to sit outside with a coffee and watch the sunrise. Even a perfect backdrop if you need a new profile picture! It was such a nice experience and we'll 100% return when next in the area. Thank you!

I ordered this place because of cheapest price. The hotel room itself is good and service was perfect. But the shower was bad at least in my room - water cold almost all the time. Internet extremely fast and I was able to watch a YouTube video without problems. Will not come again because of cold water in the shower.

Good hotel to stay in. Missing some basic amenities but could be asked at service desk. Next to Oberhausen Centro shopping centre and busses to central is just walking distance.

More like a 3 star hotel rather than 4. Basic necessities like a 3 star would have. Parking could’ve been inclusive just for hotel guests since it’s a 4 star as well. Location is great since it’s right next to the biggest mall in Europe!

The breakfast was good .location is perfect, just 2 mins walk to Centro mall and the winter market. Rooms are perfect and staff is very friendly .I think this is the first hotel where I saw the environment's sustainable goals implemented. Definitely visiting again

Been positively surprised. The rooms are cozy and large enough for a workout 😁 They serve a small buffet for lunch and dinner with a choice for everyone. Their Tiramisu was amazing 👌🏽

Room was nice and clean. We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant to find it was already closed at 9 pm on a saturday night when the hotel info provided in the room said 10 pm. Check in staff was super sweet and accommodating.

Good breakfast, close to the city center

Breakfast was very good and luckily served until 10:30 a.m. because it was school holidays. The room was nice, too, although a bit small, but we had booked the cheapest category. However, we chose this hotel because of the pool and sauna. The pool was broken and unusable. The sauna is actually available from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., but you have to call ahead or wait half an hour to use it in the morning...

Nice room with practical furniture, comfortable bed, sufficient lighting and a nice bathroom. Nice extras such as coffee, water and refrigerator in the room. Also no shortage of power outlets. Entrance hall room is an extra asset.

Everything was good and I am at all satisfied

The hotel was very good, but the waitress/receptionist at the breakfast buffet was very inhospitable. You didn't feel welcome, more like a supplicant. Typically German, always with the didactic, raised index finger. It was a shame, it ruined my day and from then on I only went into the city for breakfast.

OK hotel with acceptable amenities. Only downside is that there is no restaurant for any dining other than a simple continental breakfast. You can't even use the coffee machines out of breakfast hours. However, being within 150m of 'CentrO', Germany's largest shopping mall, there's a host of options available outside of the hotel. Parking is fine at €5 per night but you must pay in advance at check...

The options available at breakfast is not very impressive. In fact, It's just basic - nothing fascinating. However, the staff are super nice and helpful - everyone also spoke English. Parking is available too. Besides its proximity to the Centro, there's not much to do around the hotel.

A modern and comfortable hotel. I was impressed by the cleanliness that I found excellent. I had chosen it for a business trip for the number of good services that there are in the surroundings. Unfortunately, due to the Covid, it was not possible to fully enjoy it. But the hotel is recommended and I will be back.

Great hotel, newly refurbished, very clean but what stood up was the night shift person Steven Denkowitz who went way out of his way to accommodate me and my family with 2 young children when we checked in at night. His customer service level was phenomenal and he was extremely kind and caring. He made our day. Thank you Steven. You are a real asset to this hotel.
