Reviews
My Chamber was wide, simple (nothing particular) but cleaned and in well condition. The structure is following Covid -19 safety measurement efficiently.
Moquette on the floor has to be removed, especially to improve igenic condition.
No car parking available.
But nearby there's easy possibility of park.
Pity for breakfast very poor and sad.
Staff is very friendly. The Restaurant is very cozy with hearty food.
All in all, a recommendation .
The location in front of the Dom and the old town was fantastic
One issue was noise. The windows are very big and the glass is very thin. Since the room was facing the road, the noise of the street, although limited, was amplified by the building's structure and position. You could hear cars passing by and the occasional night reveller. The old fashioned lights in the bathroom were heating up considerably and this was also producing a crackling noise whenever the bulbs were heating up or cooling down.
Another little problem was that when we arrived, the staff who checked us in gave us wrong information regarding breakfast and told us it was until 10.30. When we went for breakfast the following morning at 10, they were already closing down the buffet as breakfast was actually only until 10. The staff was kind enough to allow us to eat, but the food remained was limited.
The instructions we got for the public parking were also not that great and we had some difficulties reaching the public car park nearby as the one way system is quite intricate. We were luckier with the car park itself as being the beginning of the week it was not crowded and we found ample space.
Breakfast was just ok (not just first day, when we arrived late). Staff were not offering anything apart from what was on display. No eggs made to order, just a limited selection of cold cuts, slightly stale scrambled egg and the usual stuff. The croissant was quite good though.
Since the hotel was not full some more attention could have been paid to the few guests present. Also during the reservation phase, staff were unresponsive and were replying only when contacted through booking.com. Overall, the staff seemed a bit hands off, giving the impression of being there just by chance, without really knowing what the hospitality business is about. Maybe due to the coronavirus problem they have limited guests and they are currently under staffed, as the same staff were working both as waiters and room cleaners.
The price was relatively high for the service and the breakfast provided. The main plus of this hotel remains the location.
Overall it is not a bad choice for Regensburg, but considering the potential of the place, they should try to give more attention to the details and the guests.
