AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa

I had a fantastic stay at the Ameron Hotel. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short distance from Neuschwanstein Castle and right by the beautiful Alpsee. It made exploring the area incredibly easy and enjoyable.

The hotel itself is very clean and modern, with thoughtful design and great attention to detail. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding—plentiful, high-quality, and with a great variety to suit every taste. It really exceeded my expectations.

Overall, I would strongly recommend Ameron Hotel to anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re here for the sights or just looking for a peaceful getaway, this place is a perfect choice

Perfect from start to finish! The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and very helpful. The room was very comfortable, and the spa was great. The views throughout the hotel were breathtaking, and the highlight? The pool with its stunning view of the castle—just wow! I highly recommend it, 10/10!

My best friend and I spent two nights here in September 2024 as part of our trip. Staff was very courteous and the check-in process was very smooth. The premises were kept spotless and the surroundings were quiet. Our room in the Jagerhaus was just as pictured with a comfy bed, beautiful bathroom, and an incredible view of both castles. Parking was across the hotel in a secured lot and we had no issues following instructions offered by the reception staff. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of different options and made to order eggs/omelettes. We opted for the half board option and when offered two completely different restaurants, we chose to dine at Schloss Bräustüberl Hohenschwangau which is right next door. Such a fantastic decision! Food was delicious, staff was great, and we were allowed to pick one drink, appetizer, main dish, and dessert. Definitely recommend this hotel for a more enjoyable experience while visiting the castles and the Alpsee.

The service was excellent overall, except during breakfast. The staff member at the egg station was unfortunately not friendly. I simply went over and politely asked for an omelette. In response, She loudly and rudely said, ‘Can’t you see the pan is still occupied?’ Other guests turned to look. I don’t understand why it wasn’t possible to respond in a polite manner.

Relaxing, Welcoming, Comfortable

We checked in pretty late, but the staff was right there — super friendly and helpful. They gave us all the info we needed, from parking details and hotel facilities to castle timings and local tips.

The parking area was huge and felt very safe. They give you a parking ticket when you arrive, which you can use throughout your stay, and you simply settle the amount at checkout — super convenient!

Day 1
We were up super early for our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, and the day started with an absolutely lavish breakfast — and I say this as a vegetarian! After a long day of sightseeing, we returned to the most comfortable, cozy beds.

There was one hiccup — our key card stopped working and we got locked out. I had to walk to reception twice (it’s a bit of a trek!), but the staff figured out the door lock battery had died and replaced it. After that, no issues at all! The only other small downside was that the bed was actually two twin beds joined together.

One of the absolute highlights for me was the breathtaking view from our room — we had a stunning lake view. I loved just sitting there in peace every morning, soaking in the view. Such a perfect way to start the day.

Day 2
This was our chill day. The hotel had provided complimentary bathrobes and slippers, which was a really nice touch. We started the day at the pool, moved on to the sauna, and ended with a relaxing 30-minute back massage. We had booked the massage on the website the day before, but you can also book it directly at the massage reception.

The masseuse was fantastic and did ask for a tip at the end, which was totally fair — she definitely earned it. One thing to note: you settle all payments at the end of the day.

Day 3
Checkout day came too soon. We were genuinely sad to leave the hotel, especially that beautiful lake view, but also excited to continue our trip to Garmisch!

We didn't know that this hotel is a Michelin star hotel until we got checked in. So we had tried all their amenities and services such as their gym and their restaurant and bar.
Their restaurant has excelkebt food but food choices is limited. Their bar is beautifully design but lack of hotel guests because many of us have to wake up early to see the castles and hiking.
Overall it was a very nice hotel, just find the soze of our typical room is too small and price of the room is pricey.

You can walk to Neuschwanstein Castle from the hotel. There is good sauna in the spa.

The hotel service is excellent, and the reception staff’s attitude is impeccable. The rooms are very clean and tidy, with plenty of space, and the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows is simply stunning. The breakfast offers a wide variety of options, all of high quality, showcasing the care put into every detail.

The gym and sauna are also great. Overall, this is a warm yet somewhat luxurious hotel that I absolutely love.
